I don't see much value in pursuing it anyway. It would be kinda hilarious if a Geno reveal did somehow go back to that, but it's not something that can or should be feasibly pursued now and after all that has happened. And it's not like we are lacking in other leads and are too far away from Smash news.
Speaking of July.....didn't Sakurai say it took about 8 months to develop 1 character? If I got my math right, March is 8 months away from July, which would closely fit Fatman's theory of character 7 possibly being done as early as April. Or Maybe Geno is fighter 6. Basically what I'm saying is that the timeline does match up, if Geno did indeed start being developed in July when all that evidence came up.
Edit: it actually takes 6 months to a year to create a brand new, unique newcomer. Still, it's around the middle of that range.
Edit 2: I mean July is 8 months away from March. English is weird.
Genuinly surprised no insiders have confirmed a geno mii costume yet. Either nintendo has a really good grasp of keeping secrets, or we may still have a fighting chance. Really hope this long fight we've had to get our boy in finally gets a happy ending. Can you imagine if this direct just reveals him as a fighter and our journey just ends right there? What would we even do. I'd have every character I'd want in, I really wouldn't have any requests after him. View attachment 256529
But in all seriousness, after Banjo got in I didn't really have anyone else I really super wanted to get in, so if Geno gets in I'll most likely just move on to either Shantae or Crash or something.
It'll truly feel like we went through infinity war and got endgame.
Also, does anyone know when. Banjo rumors started popping before his reveal? It was like 6-8 months before his reveal right? Seems about the same amount of time geno was rumored with the starling. Maybe this direct will be the one?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Fatmanonice
said it back back in April 2019 when he first heard about Banjo coming. Before then, someone contacted Papa Genos and told him Banjo was coming, so maybe that was the earliest instance?
Oh hey, so my Pro Controller arrived in the mail so I was playing Celeste last night.
It got me thinking... Madeline has similar proportions to Daisy...
I don't think she will be #5 that is just my wishful thinking.
I wouldn't be mad if Madeline got in, I just have a hard time coming up with a moveset for her. I've been playing the game recently and all she really in terms of a possible Special Move is her 8-way dash, so I dunno.
EDIT: Now my hot question for you is, assuming that Cacomallow is real and that the SMRPG Mii Costumes are ready to go, what number of fighter do you think Geno would be? 6, 7 or 8? At what point should we start sweating if Geno is none of those?
The way I see this working out is this: FP5 is revealed at the next Direct and is either shadowdropped there, or released sometime before the end of February. Fighter 6 is revealed either during the same Direct as FP5 or sometime around March and is released by the end of May. June is E3, so we get Fighter 7 & 8 revealed there. Fighter 7 is Geno because LOL 7 STARS, and Fighter 8 is either Crash Bandicoot, Dante, or someone who caters to the Japanese again like Hero.
So this may come off as a bit harsh and I don't mean for it to, but I guess I'll first start off with saying I understand wanting to be represented...I guess.
See, I UNDERSTAND wanting representation because it means being acknowledged on a level higher than your average citizens can give you, like in a movie or a video game. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. However, I don't get it because everyone seems to need representation of either EXACTLY who they are or as close to 1-to-1 as they can get and nowadays, that seems to be gender, race and sexuality. To me...that seems so basic.
For an example from me, when Overwatch introduced a character that had Asperger's Syndrome, if I were on the same level as some people I have met who want representation, I would have been so happy for something like that...but I wasn't. To me, it was lame pandering from a company that doesn't understand that a character is more than one thing. Just because a character has Asperger's Syndrome or Autism doesn't mean I will love them or relate to them despite having Asperger's Syndrome. A great example is the new Predator film that makes Autism seems like you are an incredible genius and emotionally dead inside and I relate to neither of those things.
I relate to people who are continuing to understand themselves. I relate to people who get hype about cool stuff. I relate to people who are struggling just to get by. This is what I mean by being basic and how I view being satisfied only by race, gender or sexual orientation in representation as incredibly basic because literally everyone has a race, gender and sexual orientation...so it's not interesting. I don't even find Asperger's Syndrome or Autism as interesting because I know all about it and have lived with it.
To end this with one last example, if we had all female characters min this pass thus far, I wouldn't be sitting here saying 'Man, I really hope we get a male character because we haven't gotten one yet and I'm a male so I want a male character. Don't even care which character it is, so long as they are a dude.' What I would be saying is 'Man, I hope we get Geno.' like I already am because I love Geno as a character and the least of all the reasons that he is some sort of male.
Hope that makes more sense, Griselda. Also, I need to find my post about my dream of both Terry and Geno getting in Smash because your edgy Geno nemesis scares me with how the main idea is exactly what I dreamed about.
Couldn't agree more, though I have a bit of a different view on this whole thing. I don't dislike token representation solely because it's pandering, but also because it often doesn't serve a narrative or character-building purpose. Going back to the Overwatch example you used, there was a lot of talk surrounding the reveal that Tracer and Soldier 76 had the big gay, a lot of people celebrating this as some sort of victory for those people. But at no point does this revelation affect anything that happens in the game. It doesn't affect their gameplay (not that it should), and since the game has little story as is and is regarded by the devs themselves as non-canon to the Overwatch universe, it doesn't affect the narrative. So why even bother including it?
It reminds me of those "flaws" that hack writers will give their Mary Sue characters in order to prove to people that they aren't perfect.
"Oh, she's not COMPLETELY perfect. Did you know she can't sing well?"
Well, in what part of the story does her lack of singing ability affect the outcome of the story? If it does, and the consequences are significant enough, then fine, it's a flaw. But if they don't, then it's not a flaw in the slightest and you might as well not even bother including it.
Also, if you're going to make this kind of representation (Autism for example) a superpower that hyper-advanced aliens want to harvest and splice into their own DNA in order to survive a planet that's burnt to a crisp, you should never write anything ever again and completely rethink your life before your ruin any more beloved franchises.
Since you also hate this film, I would highly recommend you watch these videos on it, because they're pretty good.

Actually, he said 6 months to a year for your average newcomer. That is, ones that are unique. I don't think he gave anything on echoes/clones/semi-clones. Those who use a base but are unique seem to be around the six month mark, but that might depend on whom. PP did use Bowser Jr. as a base for the pipe, but probably took well over 6 months due to various testing issues, tons of different hitboxes, etc. It's not similar to anyone else. It just a vehicle to be in, and that does only a little.
Compare Cloud, who used Ike as his base. He shares few animations, but these seem a lot more simple, with the biggest thing being differences with how the Limit Break works. Another interesting one is Hero. While I don't think it used anyone for his base(can't confirm either from datamines I know of), it clearly borrowed a lot of animations, but still takes a ton of time to test out every single spell. So he's clearly a lot more like PP, but in a different way.

In addition, July would also be a good time for Nintendo to start working on and negotiating for future fighters. At that point, 3 of the 5 fighters of the fighters pass were announced and with the millions of copies sold, I imagine it must have been enough time for Nintendo to see the fighters pass sales really grow. Not sure if this exactly lines up with Fatman's theory on when post-pass fighters were being planned, but it seems like really reasonable timing.
The amount of evidence for Geno at this point is quite astounding. I haven't seen this much evidence for a character since Ken and Banjo right before E3.
That could actually make more sense though. Keep in mind, by July, Banjo was still in the tail end of completion, Terry still had work to be done, Fighter 5 was probably extremely unfinished if even playable at all, and (If Fatman is to be believed) Fighter 6 was probably had little work done on him. It would make sense for Geno to be on the backburner during this time but still get some preliminary work on the project plan finished, so it works out that Geno took extra time.
Ok, I had my laugh, but seriously, am I the only one tripped out by the really ****ing weird amounts of non-stake that goes into the Starling at this point? The damn thing's like a Vietnam flashback for some people and it just isn't that serious, ffs. We're starved for information and that means we're either living in denial for a little longer or we'll be vindicated soon enough - let people talk about whatever questionable image hint that the unwashed masses "should have never seen" if they want to - it's the Geno thread, the same **** comes up every other month and we gain a new person here and there who maybe would be interested in the lore of the strange bird that probably doesn't mean a damn thing.

I read this and was like "March is 4 months away from July, what?" and then I realized that you mean July is 8 months away from March. English, ladies and gentlemen.
Not to delve too deep into conspiracy theories, but recall that when Vergeben was saying there was a new S-E character coming, it was before the full base roster was fully revealed, and I think he had Erdrick nailed down relatively early on too. Hero had clearly been in the works for a long long time

>Geno begins development back in July
>It takes 8 months to develop him enough to not nuke the game by doing absolutely nothing
>8 months out from July is March
>March 9th was the Japanese release date for Super Mario RPG
>Also, the window from finishing a character to release is two months, which would make Geno's release sometime in May
>May 13th was the American release date for Super Mario RPG
>Geno might actually get revealed on Super Mario RPG's 24th Japanese birthday and released on it's 24th American birthday like I considered a while back
I'm really appreciating your Krabsposting, but I'd be careful if I were you. Mods are cracking down on off-topic posts and they're handing out warnings like candy. As a safety precaution, I'd advise you start putting Geno hats on anything off-topic. Mods can only see small parts of an image, so I think that putting a Geno hat on your image might be enough to shield yourselves from the mods' notice. Stay safe out there, okay? MisterMike, out. There's a theory (I guess it counts as a theory, I've only really seen it mentioned in this thread once or twice) that Hero was supposed to be base roster and how early Vergeben knew about him is a strong part of that. Maybe more convincingly, there's a theory that Hero was supposed to be the first DLC fighter and Joker was moved forward thanks to the opportunity to theme him around stealing something at the VGAs.
Honestly, if you want a conspiracy theory, I've thought for a hot minute that if Hero was supposed to be in the base roster, they negotiated the Geno spirit as a promise that he'd be in the DLC. In a bizarre set of logical leaps, Geno's spirit was actually something that made me feel like he could be Fighter 5.

Aside from how many times we've been told "no", I've seen no evidence to argue with my convincing statements from before Terry was leaked that Geno could easily be #5!
As long as we survive whoever #5 is with no costume, we're set up for success either way as far as I'm concerned.

I'm actually subscribed to both Mauler and Critical Drinker, though this other guy is news to me. May have to check him out. I'm a big fan of EFAP but sometimes it gets boring seeing them tear apart people frame by frame and I truly enjoy Mauler's Critical Analysis vids of which Force Awakens apparently died.
Also, it turns out we agree even more. I've discussed this with Ovaltine before but the idea of just slapping a label of a minority on a character is not something to get excited about. That character trait should matter a lot more than just that, but at the same time, I also understand that people want those things to just 'be normal'.
Balance is hard to achieve, mate.
Also, I have no idea when we are getting a real Direct, but it can only go better than the Pokemon one. Still cannot believe they are making paid DLC for SwiSh. I mean, I DO get it, because enough consumers with lesser standards on what makes a game worth supporting bought the game Day 1 so why not sell the content you had planned for the game but cut it due to time constraints as a separate package? I just hope that more people get it through their thick skulls on what this means: that GameFreak made a low-quality game on a high-end system due to multiple factors that fall under 'not acceptable' and it sold well due to lack of consumer standards and, now that it is confirmed that they can use and abuse that, GameFreak is now selling cut content from the base game for half the price of a game that was already not worth it's own price tag and again people are buying it blindly.
This is just Fallout 76 and Fallout First all over again but on a smaller scale of being horrible, as SwiSh is a better game and is offering more content with their DLC.

HOLY. MOTHER. OF FECK. This is ingenious. I'm talking jigsaw pieces fitting perfectly together. The poetry. The symmetry. This needs to happen. This needs to be real. This HAS to be real!

Yes you should. Voxis does some great stuff. You should also check out JLongbone, she's hilarious. She's currently doing a reaction series to Batwoman, which the EFAP crew are also covering on the MooLer channel.
Yeah, I see what you mean. I personally dislike how long Superchat sections have gotten as of late. I know that they can't help having plenty of eager fans willing to throw all sorts of money at them to say things and get questions answered, and they clearly don't mind all too much on sticking around and getting as many of them read as they can, but when it gets to the point that the total stream length is mostly responding to Superchats rather than the video they covered, or when you need to make 4 hour EFAP Minis just to catch up with them all, then it's a problem. What they should probably do to curb this is to cut off Superchats when they're ready to read them.
Yeah, his Star Wars stuff is great. Kind of makes me glad I never really got into the series. Also, have you seen his Yooka-Laylee or Dark Souls 2 video series? Those are really good, as are his GDELB videos. Positively CELESTIAL work.

So anyway I just wanted to discuss an idea I had for Geno’s Classic Route. I might have done this before and forgotten or ripped off somebody by accident, if I have I apologize.
Making Dreams Come True (and other idioms in other languages that mean something along those lines)
There is no normal boss since Spirit Battles would hand SMRPG Spirits.
Ridley, at Norfair, Vs. Ridley
Simon Belmont, Dracula’s Castle, Vampire Killer
Chrom, Arena Ferox, Id ~ Purpose
Dark Samus, Brinstar Depths, Ultimate Brinstar Depths
King K. Rool, Kongo Falls, Gangplank Galleon
Isabelle, Town and City, Animal Crossing Title Theme
Bonus Game
Snake, Wolf, Ice Climbers, Pokémon Trainer, Pichu and Young Link. All on Big Battlefield, and to one of the songs Geno comes with.
It’s meant to be based on fan wants, and none of the normal bosses really fit here. Hero and Banjo were close, but no Classic Route has used a DLC character outside of the DLC character themselves. If they did they’d probably remove the echoes and be the final two before the bonus.
