If The Prince from Katamari Damacy gets in Smash I will be so amazingly excited. That is my pie-in-the-sky, totally random character pick. I don't expect nor hope for him (and he'd probably work better as an Assist Trophy), but man... can you imagine how amazing the remixes would be?

"The Moon and the Prince" as well as "Lonely Rolling Star" are straight bangers.

Nah, but if Lloyd or Heihachi aren't the choices for Bandai Namco, a Dark Souls rep makes a lot of sense due to the series' impact on gaming and what Fatmanonice has said recently about Fighter #5.

Honestly Kasumi should get in as the Dead or Alive rep. There needs to be more female fighting game characters and it doesn't seem like Chun-li or Mai going to get added any time soon.

Unfortunately Kasumi won’t get added to Smash Ultimate for the same reasons Mai didn’t get added as part of Terry’s stage. Cero won’t allow it without changing the rating for Smash Ultimate.

So Ryu Hayabusa is the next best candidate to represent Dead or Alive.

Just to update of my stance on Lloyd, while I would still prefer Heihachi, I’d tolerate him more if he was a post pass fighter.

However, I still think he would be a very anticlimatic way to end this pass.

I don't know really anything about the series except that psycho bear likes trapping people and forces them to kill each other? Idk, he seems like an off the wall dude. I suppose I wouldn't mind him in Smash, I like his design! I just hope his games would ACTUALLY come to Switch in a decent amount of time! (C'mon Atlus, where are my Persona games on Switch...)

They could choose those, but keep in mind. Sakurai likes making characters as close as possible as to how they look in their original games. And everyone knows Kasumi from this version, vs the other ones.

It’s like if they added Chun Li, but changed her classic look.

Well there is her censored version from Dead or Alive 5. It's matches her original design pretty well (plus I'm sure it was more than just Mia's clothing that was the problem. She doesn't stop moving at all). They did change Mythra's design from Xenoblade 2 when making her Spirit, so they can do the same by using an official design like this.

Heihachi would be pretty big also, but I'm skeptical because Sakurai did say he couldn't find a way for him to in Smash before. But maybe he'll pull a Ridley again and make it work idk

I concur. As I've said, I think Lloyd and Heihachi don't make much sense if a Bandai Namco character is Fighter #5 that is pegged to be revealed at the Game Awards. A Dark Souls rep would get MUCH more of a reaction out of the crowd and the games have had a huge impact on the industry. I'm not even a Dark Souls fan and I can confidently say that a character makes a lot of sense.

...I never thought I'd say this, but I agree with wynn728 . Watch a Dark Souls character be rumored for the next couple days but then get deconfirmed by insiders (like Ryu Hayabusa, Crash, Geno, Doom Slayer, etc.)

While they technically could do that. I just don’t see Koei Tecmo choosing Kasumi over their poster boy Ryu Hayabusa. The only one they could have chosen over Ryu Hayabusa is Zhao Yun as he’s their other poster boy. However Zhao Yun is based on a real historical figure, so it won’t happen.

So if a Koei Tecmo rep happens I’m 100% positive it will be Ryu Hayabusa, that said perhaps Kasumi can appear as a background character and spirit.

Mostly just speculation because of Spikes relationship with Nintendo and the fact that Sakurai is a fan of the series (And there was a rumored switch trilogy awhile back on top of it all)

I agree with the Game Awards point. So many people from different parts of the gaming community, will be tuning into this thing. Dark Souls in Smash will turn heads. Isn't the fighter pass plan, to pull in people who don't normally play Nintendo games to suddenly have an interest in them? Dark Souls would definitely be a character to do that

What are the recent supposed developments? And I can see how Monokuma could be a big thank you to Spike Chunsoft, as not only is it good representation, Monokuma can pull a ton from all the games in the series. Didn't Fatman say something about fighter 5 possibly being like that for its series, or am I just misrembering?
