So . . do you think he's wimpy or not? Your statement is a paradox . . .
I meant I've never seen him act wimpy in Super Paper Mario =P

@Omnicron: Are you still talking about Super Paper Mario, because I've never seen that happen. =P I don't personally think that Bowser hiding behind his army isn't cowardice, it would be boring for the boss battle to always happen in level 1-1 right? =P
I think in every game he is a partner, other than SMRPG, he always fights Mario head on anyway.

and by not taken seriously, it's not on this forum, but some others, I always hear that Bowser has turned into a joke and stuff, makes me cry T_T

I blame the Paper Mario series, Mario & Luigi sieries, (except Bowser's Inside story), and a few Mario spinoffs. Seeing him in Galaxy makes me think did people see him as a joke character in that game? I didn't.

I know, obviously, but still...T_T

Actually, other than Paper Mario seris and sports games and SMRPG, I never see him joke a lot (I didn't play an M&L game yet)

I know he isn't meant to be taken seriously though =P

EDIT: SMS slightly too.

Maybe they will make a first person shooter for Mario again.

There's already one where he uses the Super Scope as a machine gun, imagine that being implemented again in a non-gory army game where you have to shoot down goombas and koopas, and then finish the game by hopping on the Sky Pop to shoot down the Doomship, the lead vehicle of the Airships.

In every game, Bowser hides behind his minions. He needs to toughen up. His looks are very deceiving.
I'm not saying make him the first boss, but I'm saying just make him show up more as brave within the storylines?
He needs to stop using his armies over and over and fight Mario face to face, instead of using machinery/a flying clown vehicle/what have you.

and by not taken seriously, it's not on this forum, but some others, I always hear that Bowser has turned into a joke and stuff, makes me cry T_T
Mario's a light hearted game, as CRASHiC said, and thus he's meant to be a joke, in a sense.

It wouldn't make a very exciting game without all that stuff, as I said and he does fight a majority of the times, like not in the clown copter or any machinery =P
That's why lots of games have their minions go after the hero.

I responded to CRASHiC, I know it's meant to be a light-hearted game and he is meant to be a joke but still....T_T, and don't get me wrong I know where they get it from, just some of that stuff is kinda harsh, especially with games like Galaxy, 64 and whatnot.

You'd think Bowser would learn and he sometimes does. Mario's just too good for him. It's Mario's skills as a plumber, they're too much for him!

It seems Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't be the only Mario game for 2010.

A couple of months ago Charles Martinet himself hinted that there was another awesome Mario game on the way and that it wasn't NSMBWii OR SMG2.

I remember seeing this on his twitter page after hearing about it somewhere else, but at some point recently Nintendo requested it removed from his page.

Any thoughts?

Possibly, but it would have to include the adult version of Mario, since Mr. Martinet said in that post that he was busy doing [voice] recordings for the game in Seattle.

This is what I've been looking for!
Bowser never seems to learn, IMO. Although I will agree that he sometimes does, his plans in many games are the typical 'steal the princess, defeat the protagonist' type schemes.
Bowser's Inside Story seems to move away from this scheme, which I definitely find enlightening.

Also, Justaway, why do you actually find it sad that Bowser is made into a joke?

Well if you think about it, Bowser's (apparent) dream is to steal Peach, get rid of Mario and rule some sort of Kingdom.

Of course he never really learns! He's blinded by his dream and power. It happens all the time realistically.

It's not what I think Nintendo does with him, I think it's the impressions that everyone sees of him.
As CRASHiC said, this is a very-light hearted game, Bowser would act silly from time-to-time, though I see act so cool in games sometimes (64, Galaxy). it's not what Nintendo did to him, I love Bowsers sensitive side <3, it's that I think other people take it too negatively

I guess people just doesn't get how a monster get's beat by a plummer everytime. O_o
But it's Mario, so it's okay, you said yourself, he is the god of videogames =P

Well you should think of Mario as a hero who happens to be a plumber, rather than the other way around, makes Bowser's losses have more sense, besides his goofiness adds depth of character for some people, it makes it cooler when he means business.

Mario is metaphore for an affair. I see it now.

Mario is the plumber, and though he may not look like much, he makes Peach feel like a princess, which is much more than that ugly, fat turtle of a husband makes her feel. However, the husband finds out and takes Peach away from the plumber, but he pursues after his love, jumping over (t)hurtels to re-obtain his love. Finally, he finds her, and they live happily ever after. . . . or do they? Peach still is with the *******, and now there are kids! Yet, Marios up to the task, but little does he know he's only number 1 on her list of affairs, and number 2 is his own brother!

Nah, I'm just bull ****ing.

He does something close to plumbing in superstar saga and for what it's worth Mario seems pretty content with a peck on the cheek, don't know why, but yeah...

It's obviously because the fact that she was baking a cake was a lie.

When you have so many bakers why would you bake it yourself if you're a princess? I mean really

^ This post is amazing.

I always thought it was creepy in Super Mario World when you're tiny and Peach kisses you...when I was younger I thought when Mario got smaller he was also getting younger. So it looked and felt weird to me to see Peach Kiss a younger man.

Though, I don't know how old Peach is anyways. So I'm rambling.

That would depend, what area are they in while the cake is being made, or did Mario watch Peach make the cake himself. =P

Peach is probably younger than Mario.

♣ It was shown that Baby Peach looked younger than Baby Mario and Baby Luigi, I think we can say that Peach is younger than Mario. But I'm confused about Luigi's height compare to Peach in the newer Mario games, before Luigi was taller than Peach since Super Mario World in Mario All Star, now ever since NBA Street V3, (or Mario Power Tennis), now Peach is a little taller than Luigi?! ♥

Maybe she wears higher heels? Mario was the same height (or one pixel shorter) than Peach in SMB3 and SMW, though it's obvious that they've made him . . closer to the ground. Oh well, everyone's height changes in the Marioverse, heck Bowser has never been the same height twice in the platformers.

♣ Even on her current Mario sports attire she's taller than Luigi. Bowser I can never figure out his true size ever, he's big, than he's normal, then he get's very big, then he get's normal, then he get's bigger than King Kong, then he get's normal. XD ♥

NSMBW is 80% fail in game mechanic department. I can easily cause the wiimote to desync simply by running and then doing a long jump.

Caused to me die like 10 times and get hit 5 times.

Define "desync".

Is it causing you to have a delay when you're trying to change direction mid-jump? If so that's intentional.

If you mean that it won't register fireballs/propeller whirls/iceballs/wall-jumps accurately, then I guess that would be a glitch then, although I've never experienced it in this game.

I got a real challenge, go through paper mario 1 and 2 and ONLY increase HP or FP lol. Which would be worse? If you went solo FP, you would be at 10 hp, with no badges protecting you, except maybe damage dodge (but if you can supergaurd well, it doesn't matter). If you went solo HP, you wouldn't die, but you'd be extremely limited when it comes to dealing damage. Someone should try one of these runs and see if they can survive with 3 BP the whole game.

I would never do that unless I have Clock Out on TTYD. The first Paper Mario is just crazy with only increase FP. O_o

hm, it would be insanely hard to go through PM 1 without using any BP. Scratch that, unless you have an insane amount of willpower lol.

Danger mario does have a flaw though. If you can't kill things in one turn, if they use special attacks like fire breath, they pierce defenses, and you're screwed.

I'm doing a no BP increase run, and I'm not having any trouble so far. I could even take Hooktail without using the cricket badge. Mario's going to be limited, but at least i'll never die XD

I figured this would be a good place to ask, but how good is Mario and Sonic at the winter olympics? My friend said it's bad, I would like to hear some other opinions though.

Oh yeah, and a new WarioWare game is coming out, it's called WarioWare D.I.Y on the DS, putting it out there just in case anybody wants to know.

Mario & Sonic Winter games is better on the DS than the Wii. I'm glad they add more characters, but it's not better than the first one.

I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this here, but does anyone else find the changes in Mario Kart 64 from the Japanese version and the US version to be rather interesting?

The "sponsors" are different in the Japanese version and parody reallife companies.

Koopa Air uses the Goodyear logo color scheme, the 64 ball in Luigi's Raceway has the Unocal 76 colors, and the other logos are different entirely. Yoshi's logo in MK64JP is "Yoshi [1]" (complete with Mobil 1's color scheme), Mario's sponsor is "Marioro" and mimicks Marlboro, and Luigi's logo is "Luigip" which makes fun of a company called Agip. Interestingly, the EXACT logo used in conjunction with the "Luigip" name is used in MKWii, although the "p" is gone.
