SuperNintendoDisney SuperNintendoDisney , Like seriously I suggest you leave the thread, as your additude is only dragging us down and adds nothing to the discussion at all, you've been completely ignorant and have only abided by your own logic, and because of that it would be advised that you just go bring your attitude somewhere else so that we can continue with our discussions rather then us having to deal with you. It's unproductive and only makes you look worse in comparison.
I can't imagine what could be worse than you thinking everything is Bandana Dee.

Nothing got revealed last night for Smash or Nintendo. Only Psychonauts being confirmed for a sequel.

Shenmue 3.
Pyschonauts 2.
We've got 2 of the top 20 requested sequels down. Let's keep going, guys!
Yesterday the president did speak about the NX (a few hours before the VGAs) revealing that its not going to be the Wii 3...also rumours that several million units will ship out at the end of the year...

Serell Serell You think 'vidya gaemz are art and DLC shouldn't be about making money', that, I can understand. However, how do you make money when making DLC? Making DLC that appeals to the majority. Instead of only looking at my arguments involved with business, consider the facr that Inklings are highly requested.

Look at me, I ****ing hate the idea of Inklings in Smash yet I've defended them more times than I can remember...

I hope the Inklings get in, one of my most requested characters, Tatsumi Kimishima did an interview with Time and talked about NX and other stuff he's doing a good job. Looking forward to the Direct whenever it is.

So, here's a question (that I hope won't evoke too much rage) Of all the video game characters you DON't want in the game which would you be the most ok with if they did get in?

For me its probably Shovel Knight. I don't care for him much as a candidate, but admit he would probably be fun as a Smash character so I'd get over it.

Ridley because he's a character who has earned a spot and it means Sakurai and his team have found a way around some of the earlier issues.

Honestly?

I'd probably be most not-pissed if we got Dark Samus or Dixie Kong, because at least it's some amount of love towards my favourite franchises.

The Color stuff in the annoucement is really random to try to predict something.

For example, I can say Micaiah has a blue scarf and a dress with a similar purple tone.

Honestly, I don't know. I guess any indie character. I wouldn't want them in because I think they're too new, or obscure for third-parties and because I'd rather Nintendo focus on their own IPs. Despite this though, many of the indie characters I think would have rather good move sets, so I think they'd be amazing characters move set wise.

In general, I'm not too opposed to any character because I think any character can be fun if implemented correctly. The only characters I'm opposed to are the Tetris block or any other abstract-looking character. Basically, a character that does not resemble a human, an animal or any sort of living creature.

I think we have pretty much the exact same opinion on the matter. There are a handful of characters I'm outright hostile to the idea of (the indies aren't necessarily in that list), but the majority of choices I see discussed I at least shrug and go "yeah that'd be cool"

Its so relaxing to be easy going and positive!

I'm going to be brutally honest about my thoughts on Splatoon. These are probably unfair and ridiculously biast, but I have to say them.

This is pretty much why I am on the fence about wanting them in Smash.
Personally I have been soured by certain people I don't like advertising the **** out of it. A lot of the more Nintendo devoted Smash 4 players, really angered me between the game's release and Apex 2015 and this actually indirectly ruined my interpretation of Splatoon.

This is more of my issue with people's attitudes in general in online forums/sites relating to Nintendo. Some people just apathetic, selfish or just annoyingly ignorant. The more I hear someone talk **** about PM or generalize the competitive scene, the less I want to even associate with the games they like.

It's sad and probably incredibly spiteful. I don't own the game at the moment, but I hope I find Splatoon players that are respectful and overall tolerable individuals.

Also, the game isn't advertised as much in my circles of interest, as I don't know anyone IRL or online that really plays it. So I probably don't get the hype over it.

I feel like they still will get into Smash DLC. They are good choices. I'm not so sure why it sold as well as it did, though.

Usually never turns out well when asking people who they don't want...

Either way this isn't really an easy question for me to answer since most characters are listed 'don't care one way or another' which pretty much includes most of the top 20 requested characters to begin with...while the ones that I don't want I actually really don't want...

Just for the sake of the argument...let's say probably Paper Mario...I don't really like the idea of getting a third Mario but at least he'd be a unique fighter...

I'd honestly prefer the Inklings to just be in the next Smash game because the game was a slam dunk and pretty much secured at least one spot in the next game even if Nintendo has a total lapse of sanity and doesn't make another Splatoon game. It's like how we all knew that Kid Icarus was going to get at least one new character in the new Smash when Uprising came out or how Fire Emblem Awakening was going to be represented in some way. It's pretty much a lock at this point that Splatoon's going to be a big deal for Nintendo from now on so there's really no need to rush their inclusion.

Cry me a river, you are guilty of every single thing you are accusing me of as well. Grow up and stop getting your feelings hurt because someone is disagreeing with you

The last Direct revealed a special Smash Broadcast and the screen that had the actual words telling us about the broadcast glittered and shimmered with vibrant colors. Users on the forum are trying to match the colors to their favorite characters, implying there is a hidden meaning to the colors chosen. For example, the words changed from blue to orange, so one user said it was a hint for Bandana Dee, since his headband is blue and his body is orange. Even though the words shimmered with every color of the rainbow allowing you to interpret any character you want. It's adolescent logic

Oh geez... Guys, just toughen it out... At worst, we have like two weeks left anyways. Given we've survived six months of no new characters being revealed back in 2013 and how some of you here survived nearly a year and half of no new character reveals for Brawl back in 2007, I think we can handle this minor wait without picking through bits of sand to try to figure out "clues."

Three years of waiting for a game to release on my end.

Not trying to play myself up or anything, but I know a lot of users here who have more patience than I.

So listen to the boxing promoter, people.

Personally, I'd love to see a Melee-esque Adventure Mode with a reward for completing it with all characters, such as a stage.

Also, trying to guess characters by looking at the colors on the banner is just desperate. I see green on the banner! Shrek confirmed!

Green and Yellow
Blue and Orange
Purple
Yep, I think I found them alright! :troll:

Why do you actively hate characters? Unless it's something completely ridiculous, there is something really wrong with that. There are characters I think aren't strong enough to get added, but I don't hate any of them, no one has been added to Smash that I would consider hate worthy, and probably won't ever

I'm not saying they shouldn't be about making money. Everyone needs money to survive. Money just can't be the only focus, your only goal. Video games are more than that, and anyone who does not believe they are an art is laughable. There are many other characters that would make sufficient money, even if not well known. Ray from Custom Robo may not be well known, but he looks like a freakin gundam, I'm sure people would still buy him. And why are you defending the Inklings so hard? Like I said, I'm not attacking them. I am not against them, I am not arguing if they have good or bad chances, I'm just saying money and demand is not the only relevant factor for inclusion in Smash.

You're right. The other goal is making characters people want to see playable become playable. How do you not see this? Although I'd love to see Ray, he's very niche, and looks alone aren't going to justify DLC costs. The reason I'm defending Inklings is because I find the 'save for the next game' argument to be absolute garbage. Hell, I don't even like them and I want them as far away from Smash as possible. However, I'm a teeny tiny atom in comparison to everyone who wants Inklings. Also, 'money and demand shouldn't be everything' Except Sakurai explicitly used the term fanservice. As in, to satisfy fans. How do you do that? Give them what they want. Before you try using 'art' as an argument, be honest, companies don't care if it's art, companies always have one goal and one goal only. To make profit

Of course they would also have to give Ray an awesome move set as well. Ray could have an extremely unique move set, being an aerial focused megaman

You're right. Money and demand aren't the only factors.

But Splatoon is a conpletely new thing from Nintendo (and a really successful one too) and everyone seems to like the Inklings.

They deserve to be in Smash, but whether Sakurai will wait until next game or make then DLC in this one is...impossible to predict.

When I look at Sakurai, he looks like a true artist to me. He puts love and care into all his games. So I believe money is not his only goal. But you are right that he may just add Inklings because they are in high demand, and he wants to give the fans what they want. I concede.

EDIT: Let's talk about Ray instead, that sounds like a lot more fun

Admittedly, I never actually played Custom Robo, but I did do SOME research a while ago. I can easily see Pods being a Down B, acting like Mega Man 3's Search Snake weapon
Custom Robo was a true hidden gem on the game cube. Amazing game. The problem was poor advertising... no one knew about it. I see Ray as a much more aerial focused megaman, that strafes through the air dropping pods and launching bombs
