No, you didn't. LT just pointed out the delicious irony in what you posted, and yet you still don't get it.
Nah, it's not ironic. It's hypocritical, maybe. But you're the opposite part of that equation, so if anything you're just as guilty as I am.
"It is second nature for me to outsmart people". Well you're usually seeing that as a third party. Now that it comes to you being under the lens, it seems that suddenly I'm the dumb one.
Not at all.
Someone's intelligence doesn't change based on what side of an argument they're on. Are you really saying I'm stupid enough to believe something like that? Awkward.
Being smart doesn't make someone perfect.
I like how you pointed that one typo comment out as if that was the only thing I said, whereas it was just one sentence in amongst several paragraphs. The validity of that grammatical travesty being pointed out is absolute, you can't admonish someone for poor English and make a howler of a mistake like that in the same damn post.
You're forgetting the fact that in my case the error was clearly accidental. This argument is fallacious at best, and I can't believe I'm actually having to explain this.
Purposefully typing incorrectly is not anywhere near the same as an unconscious little error, and you know it.
The funny thing is, I have like no bones about how people type, and generally when people do the whole their/they're/there thing among others, I generally just give the person the benefit of the doubt and assume they had a brain fart. I just find it really obnoxious the way people put themselves up on pedestals above people because of stuff like this, when quite frankly, a fair few of these people are kinda ****ing stupid themselves. I grew up with one limb in every part of the socio-economic ladder, and I understand that there's more to people than just how they write/type, and there are more factors to how they write/type than you might think.
The funny thing is I
know you know i'm not dumb enough to unknowingly make an error like that, and the only reason you're actually arguing this is because you're upset because you like the guy and feel obligated to defend him.
In the past I used to make a lot of cracks about hating people, maybe for a short period of my life that was genuine. The funny thing is, it wasn't because of hoodrats like Skweezy, it was because of people with their hypocritical inflated senses of self worth, and genuine lack of ability to show any compassion beyond a surface level, and a complete inability to look at anything beyond a surface level.
So in short, maybe everyone should actually be more decent. I bet if you met Skweezy irl, you wouldn't be anywhere near as obnoxious, and that's not to do with fear of physical repercussions. This guy shows outrage at a pretty brutal crime, even if he isn't the brightest star in the constellation, at least you know when he's walking down the street late at night and some girl is stumbling home from the club, he's not going to **** her/shank her/rob her/all three.
Maybe not in short.
I don't really disagree with any of this. It's all pretty insignificant in relation to our argument anyway. It's basically just a tangent to make your point seem more relevant in relation to your original argument "hurrdurr you made typo." I know you're going to end up saying "but that's what I was criticizing people for doing in the beginning" but no, like I clarified above there is a large difference between each case.
And please... don't act like you're some kind of saint when it comes to judging people prematurely. You don't even hide the fact that how someone looks definitively correlates between how highly you think of them. People have gone from your pseudo-ignore list to 'your opinions might not be worth **** after all' just because you realized they weren't an eyesore.
What was it, you were saying about irony again?
It may not be everything, but how someone writes/talks/etc can and will say a lot about them. I have no doubts skweezy is a fine person offline, and I might get along with him in that situation, but that doesn't change the fact that the way he types is ****ing stupid.
Oh please Teran, I am the sparkle master~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
