fsmash: do you actually use it? besides for the time when you break your opponents shield, or use epic mindgames, do you use it regular play?

usmash: IMO, this move sucks. it does like 8%.

do you actually use these 2 moves?

I use u smash when I feel they're going to jump over my head in an arch like fashion.

I almost never use fsmash unless I'm desperate. Next to drill rush, I think it's his worst move.

Usmash is junk; utilt has all of the vertical range that usmash does (and not much less horizontal range), it launches farther, it can be sweetspotted, and since it's a one-hit move, it can't be DI'ed out of. Oh, and it has less lag and it does around the same percentage as a Usmash that connects with all three hits. So yeah, usmash is just a bad habit (that I have :\ )

Fsmash has its uses, though...after all, it is actually his most powerful smash. From the time when you press fsmash on the controller to the time when it comes out, there is a good amount of lag; however, if you charge fsmash, there isn't much lag at all after the charge release, so it can be used when edgeguarding or during some other time when you have the time to wind up an fsmash. I guess you could also use the fsmash's windup time to catch your opponent off-guard or as some form of a mind game...? :p While it is true that you should dsmash as your normal kill move and as a punishing option on the ground, fsmash has its uses.

Usmash sucks

Fsmash sucks worse. The lag is horrible. Like elite smasher said, only use the move if you're desperate to kill.

Fsmash- Definately has its uses. For instance, there is a small lag when a character lands and most characters air dodge to the ground (snake?) and you can use this to punish it. It is a great way to kill snake at "early" persentages.

Fsmash actually has a Small Hitbox behind him, which can actually punish a Roll, or be used as Mindgame. Learn that the hard way :(

F-smash is really, really good. You can punish before it hits, but after it hits MK is safe. Often I will f-smash d-smash to catch spot dodges, and to push shielders too far away to retaliate.

I use usmash sometimes, if I run to a falling opponent, to punish him ^^

F-smash does not suck if you know how to mindgame with it
U smash is trash though, u tilt has better knockback/priority.

yes, i stated mindgames with fsmash, taht works with snakes and D3's and ikes fsmash too. mindgames work with MOST moves that dont have a crapload of lag. im asking if you use it regularly.

I do use it regularly. GnW has huge problems with MKs that use walk away f-smashes. That is something I am trying to incorporate into my game.

Also, I want you to tell me how to "mindgame" into a Gannon's u-tilt.

Honestly, that pathetic buzzword has engulfed half the community.

ok...mindgame MOST moves. but still, fsmash lag isnt even 1/10 the lag of ganons utilt. besides, who would use utilt when you have warlock punch? it has same lag lol

POINT IS... f-smash is good, experiment around local tournaments and stuff, play with friends.

U-smash only has a few advantages on u-tilt, in that it goes through air-dodges, and can be used from a run... SH Uair covers both of those better IMO.

F-smash is a good kill move because it'll likely be fresh, but there are so many other ways to KO someone...

How does SHUair beat air dodges better? I think that's the only time to use USmash, against air dodges.

F smash is great. Turn around fsmashes catch your opponent off guard all the time. Also, to punish an opponent in fall special/after a lagge move, fsmash is the way to go.

stop saying "MINDGAME _____ MOVE"

it makes you all look foolish

fsmash is useful for punishing spacing - a nice quick pivot fsmash hurts against anyone who approaches intelligently but repetitively. use it to punish spacing - not to "mindgame"

ugh.

Fsmash is good when you have a guaranteed hit and a decayed dsmash, such as after a jiggs rest. Its low wind-down lag serves as a solid (and fairly safe) trap when you predict a spot-dodge against a opponent, especially if they're shielding.

I think Upsmash is good just for adding damage beccause it's quick, but Utilt is better so you shouldnt use it too much.

I hate Fsmash it's too laggy and slow, even if it is his most powerful smash.

And someone said Drill Rush is his second worst move, but it has it's uses for recovery. It just doesn't have enough stun to actually keep the opponent in it. If is wasn't as DI'able, it would be good.

utilt is better than usmash

fsmash is ok, but it's not good to use it often. pivot fsmashes are fun :) also, what gimpy said about spacing

Fsmash is easy to land if you
"Trick your opponent" (Gimpy :p)

If I ever get my MK vids up, you'll see how much I can actually make it hit.

Also, Usmash. lol
