wow, haven't seen garde post for a really long time--2005, i think.

deva, wtf are you going to teach them? lol. i mean, there isn't much to brawl to teach. furthermore, it'll be over online, which will make it difficult if anything.
Mostly just the basics. DAC, spamming techniques, spacing maneuvers, edge guards, recovery options, etc. Online is horrible, so I try to recreate specific situations I've seen occur in most of my matches and teach what works best in those situations.

Idk, maybe I wasn't using it right, but I tried wifi wars and it was really hard to see what anyone was posting, the text looked horrible with som much random crap lol.
Heh, well, whenever you feel like it, come on over. I can teach you how to use it. I don't know about being hard to see, but it works really good. I guess it is a little ugly though. =P

In fact, we could even make our own channel for the class, that way there won't be a million people in the way of what needs to be. It's free and everything, so yeah., I think it's a good idea.

Hehe, yeah, the AiB chat is easier on the eyes.

The only thing I don't like about it is the lack of a good PM system and that the freaking user list pops up and down uncontrollably... >.> <.<

shh, nub. for someone who's such a joke--and trust me, you clearly are a joke--you aren't very funny. wtf is up with that? the likes of you should never address me unless i've given you permission first. you fuking melee scrub.

edit: deva, you know brawl is horrible and doesn't require much of anything. i don't understand why you're doing this. brawl is garbage, period.

yeah, it sucks. But it's what everyone is playing right now. Until we can convince everyone to go back to melee I should try to do what I can with a game that's this bad so that it's at least bearable.

video games in general have always sucked, for the exception of the n64 gamecube and all of nintendo and valve's games. when the gamecube came out in 1946 it was a hit, and I still play my wii today. learn your lesson, the wii is going to be almost 20 years old today so just shut up already. half life is the best though.

I always wanted to get into Melee with the best, but my location just won't allow it. North Dakota sucks, beyond hardcore, for having any good competition. So, it's not Melee, but I'll be sticking with Brawl for the sake of online.

Who knows, maybe if there's another Smash some day in the far future it'll have great online.

idk why people are always hating on brawl

if you played sbb64 like you did melee, the transfer from 64 to melee would feel just as bad as our transition from melee to brawl

no matter what game you started out on you are always going to have to change, get over it.

i'm sorry but if you're only going to ***** about brawl go back to melee

****, your humor is so clever! how do you do it?

lol. half life? what you know about cs, fool? you cal even? you ever scrim? what you know about thrilla? i've beaten a cal-i player 1vs1 at aim_map. however, that doesn't matter at all. 1vs1 is only for money or bragging rights.

you're hella happy how brawl turned out, aren't you? now you can actually keep up...kinda. lol.

veterans know the truth: it's all about melee. where were you when deva hella sucked--no offense, deva--and would ask for my advice?

You're a CS fruit that nobody cares about. How about both of you keep the topic on smash brothers plzkthx?

The ONLY reason you guys don't like brawl is because of the all around floatiness of the game. Brawl will be around for awhile, and it's metagame will speed up.

I've noticed that pros seem to bash brawl because it isn't as competitive friendly as Melee was, which I laugh at. Sorry, brawl (and melee for that matter) was NOT intended for competitve play, we just can.

get over yourselves already geeez....

You know, once I figured out that I don't have to read Aurashade's troll posts, I liked the Link forums a lot better. Then I realized that the people who respond to his trolls are worse than him.

I'm very interested in this. At the very least, I get to have my *** handed to me by some of the best Links ever. :)

wtf. i can't believe a scrub like you is actually talking **** to me again. for your sake, please just stfu. it's very clear that you haven't a clue about melee. i only give respect to good melee players. and just like you, brawl is nothing but a horrible joke.

lol thrilla i want to play u in 1.6
trust me, you don't; i'm an awp specialist. i never lost a money match. the same goes for playing my link in melee: you won't like it. how do you know me anyway? i think i recognize your name...kinda.

...it forces people to get lives a little more than melee did.
you're right. brawl doesn't even take a fourth of what melee required. that's why you can somewhat hang with the rest of us.

wow, Thrilla considers me good o_O, holy crap. Lol, I admit, back in the day I did come to you for advice. A large part of the reason I ever got good. But yeah, thrilla, aurashade's just trolling, don't take anything he says seriously. If respond to a flame he just keeps going. Realize it's a joke, and you can get along.

and sorry kratos, but the overall floatiness of the game is what makes it slow. The metagame can't speed up all that much if the physics of the game won't allow it. In retrospect, If you look at melee compared to techen, they're both good fighting games. They were both fast, and forced the players to predict their opponent's movements on the spot. If you want a good FIGHTING GAME, play those. If you want a game that focuses soley on predicting opponent movements though, play chess. Brawl just falls somewhere between there. It's too slow to be a good fighting game, and too fast to be a good strategy game. It is it's own category really. I doubt the competetive gaming community will ever recognize it as a real fighting game, but I believe it will be good in its own category, whatever that may be. Perhaps the Brawl category, lol.

lol. i don't really remember telling you that much; i think i already gave up giving advice when you first started posting. at the moment, i think your melee link is probably better than mine, but it's not faster; i'm really out of practice.

trust me. i don't take anything he says seriously. i already know he's trolling, but i have fun responding the way i do; i actually kinda like the guy even. doesn't really matter though. i won't be posting here much anyway; i really have a strong dislike for brawl and all its newcomers. ****, i wish melee was online. melee for life. peace out, deva.

Back to actually useful offtopic stuff: Deva, I believe you owe some more videos ;p.

Anyways, I've been wanting your opinion on this: How much heavier (as in, harder to knock out) do you think Link is when compared to TL? From what Iperceived, TL has more KO potential in his moves, but I wanted to figure out if adult Link's inferior KO potential (ironically enough) balances out with his being more difficult to KO. Then again, it could be argued that this is irrelevant, as TL's superior recovery gives him an advantage in survivability that Link with his "easily gimped" recover doesn't have (curiously enough, I don't find recovery to be that difficult, especially if you're coming as an Olimar player, who REALLY has terrible recovery).

I guess my pet peeves so far are the gale boomerang's inferiority to TL's boomerang (5% damage in comparison to 11% damage and potential 3% extra form the returning trip), the impracticality of aerials with Link (falls so fast that short-hopping aerials is actually a mission), the equality between projectiles (I dunno, TL should be hitting less hard in exchange for how speedy and nimble he is), and his dair being so easily punished.

Still, I've played Peach, Samus, Jigglypuff-- character far more nerfed than Link-- so I'd like to give Link a try to see just how good he can be. This guy called my attention to Link, and ever since I've wanted to give him a try.

Hmm... I never really respond to Aura but I don't mind him. lol. I see you as the one guy who is here to post for kicks and giggles. =P

For me, Brawl vs Melee is a tear at the heart. I really do love all the Smash games, and I do think of Brawl as an OK smash game, not Melee by any means though. The sad this is though, my location never allowed me to play Melee with anyone who could give me a challege. I may live in a town of near 40k, but no one here is worth my time... which, is why I've come to love Brawl, in that while online does stink (thank you Nintendo >.>) it's my only way to play good players. =\

Anywhoo, yo, Deva, regardless of which chat it is or isn't, when the heck is the next time you'll be on? xD

Lol, I'm working on a Link montage for our crew so it might be better than just videos.

Alright, Link is not only heavier, he definately has better kill moves. I always have a harder time killing opponents with TL. His kill moves aren't bad, but they're defiately worse. Link's weight doesn't really make up for recovery purposes though, cuz Toon Link won't die till you hit him to a blast zone. His recovery is just that freakin good. And though I realize Link's recovery sucks, I rarely if ever get gimped with him. He has a decent level of floatiness for his size, and as long as you DI properly and pull a bomb when you get knocked out and hold on to it, it'll almost always explode before you die if you're being edgeguarded. So DI=not getting gimped with Link, and Living till near 200% on average.

@Blubba, I'm usually on the allisbrawl chat room later at night.

Thanks for the thorough response! I'm a bit surprised, though. I've tested Usmash and Fsmash, and while the Fsmashes are similar in KO potential (Link's first strike knocks you away, while TL relies on landing the first strike to connect the second, which is the real killer; I still find myself KO'ing with TL at lower percentages; this may be my bitterness at work, though), I've noticed quite a hefty difference between the Usmash killing percentages. Perhaps killing with TL is harder due to stricter range requirements?

I'll pay you a visit on allisbrawl.com later on; I'd really like to work on my AT's.

I've been playing quite a few Link users online, and I see a lot of potential, but it seems they're lacking in essential tactics and skills that are easy enough to pick up but they just don't know how to do them or the situations where they would be useful. Therefor, I've decided to make an online class for Link users. Basically, I'll be giving in game lessons via the taunt messaging on how to perform certain Link tactics and techniques while showing you the proper technique and situations to use them in. Then you can play me to test it out and practice. There isn't a whole lot to learn, but more to practice and learn the proper situations to use techniques in, which will be what the classes will be covering for the most part. Maybe if I get enough members I'll starrt charging through paypal or something, lol. Prolly not, but be one of the first just in case by signing up here with a post and I'll add you as a student. Then, let me know a week in advance what days and times you're available and I'll try to set up a schedule when we can meet online for training. Finally, if you are already a well known Link player, feel that you are a very skilled Link, or are a student who has progressed significantly through the courses, You can sign up to be added as a teacher. Just make a post here requesting to be a teacher and then set up a time that we can play. I'll just watch to see how much you know and play you to see how well you know the situations where to use the techniques. if you seem to have a firm grasp, I'll add you as a teacher and you can also gain access to a handfull of the players that will then become your students so that I don't have to teach everyone, lol.

Really, these classes are to improve Link players as a community. I'm tired of Seeing Link as low tier, and part of the reason is that players don't give him enough of a chance. Now with toon Link with a shot at top tier, the number of Link users will decrease even more. Link's a bit tricky to pick up in this game. I just want to make sure that enough of us know what he's actually capable of and if enough of us win or do well at tournaments, he mght just have a shot at high tier. I just want to do what I can to help.

Also, you should all check out this site for messaging purposes and overall use for message boards cuz it's Waaaaaay better than smash boards.

Link fails too hard.
I think i've done everything I could possible do to learn how to play Link. But i'm probably missing a few things. It was pretty easy to Learn Link since a lot of my projectile tatics from Young Link easily carried over to Link and in some ways it improved a lot(Stuff like how to absolutely destroy people who love to chase you. Out camp anyone in the game. Approaches. etc etc.)

So i'd love to play you(Deva) and Skler to see if i'm missing anything. Maybe you two could even learn from me? Anyways. Message me on AIM if you wanna play me.

i can tell you're the kinda fool i'd beat the **** out of if i saw you on the streets; in other words, your'e lil *****. little advice: stop trying to be a hero on these forums. and trust me, when you say "i'm done," those will be the same exact words going through your head if you ever come across me in any walk of life.

lol thrilla i want to play u in 1.6

i havent played in like a month but its all good
trust me. you do not want to play me if you have any aspirations of winning, or keeping your money for that matter. besides, cs isn't about 1vs1. you know that right? what league are/were you in?

remember mtv's true life: i'm a professional gamer? the one with killaor in it? well, it also had the top female cs clan in the world included in it's episode too. anyway, my point is this: i was trained, and scrimmed with, the real cs thrilla; who, in turn, trained with them for quite a while in cali; actually, he was my neighbor here in sin city. and that's where i got my ssbm name "tHrilla`" from, but only after he retired from cs. however, i'm well known and feared as "deadpool" in the cs community of las vegas.
