I talked to the owner of Gamelot today, and basically I have free reign over the month of June for a tournament. Here is the Saturdays I have open:

June 7

June 14

June 21

June 28

Please vote!However I would also like to hear some reasons why you chose that date if you have something to add.

Also, I know people (at least Sethlon) are asking to turn it into a two day event. I would only see having teams on Sunday, and maybe Melee, although we only had 8 people enter Melee at FS3. I'll need enough people for me to deem it worth my time. After all, the most difficult part about preproduction for FS1 and FS2 was making sure people had housing. I don't think TX is going to get OOS support for Brawl anytime soon (and I don't know too many people willing to fly for Brawl yet). We could still always invite our LA, NM, or OK neighbors though. I will be making the thread a week from now, so voice your opinion ASAP!


Oh and pricing will stay the same. $5 wrist band and $10 event entry worked out really well for both the players and the store.

Well, I chose neighbors as in bordering. Besides, Forward and South Paw (who is more OK) were the only ones that came to Texas since S ex 2.

The only reason you had 8 people for your melee tournament is that you did not set the actual tournament in stone. Letting people know that the thing is actually going to happen would be nice instead just saying "well maybe"

if you set a time and you say hey this is a real melee tournament im sure people like Xelic and alot of other austin smashers would attend. I bunch of people in general would come...

We will need more tvs to get Melee done. It took a while with the 9 tvs we had. I assume the people playing Melee wouldn't be likely to enter Brawl, so I would need a dedicated set of tvs to run the tournament on.

EDIT: Kal was the only person who brought a tv last time! So the Melee supporters will need to step it up if you want to play it.

I'd be interested in going, just to play Melee friendlies again. This time, though, can we avoid using my TV for the Brawl tourney? I know you needed it last time, but it was a real drag, since I brought the TV thinking it would be used exclusively for Melee friendlies.

The date isn't too important to me. Most of us will be out of school by June anyway. And the $5 entry, $10 tournament fee worked out very well last time, so I'm glad you're sticking with it. Hopefully the girl who helped announce matches will be at FS4, because she did a good job of that.

Of course, I probably won't enter Brawl singles. I tried playing it at Hylian's house the other day, and I got frustrated and quit after his DK was able to get out of a Marth combo (DK??).

Ahh i voted for the 28th. Pretty much the only time I can make it. The last one was a blast. I came up just a little too short. =[
Anyways hopefully its then. This'll be fun.

If we get more setups, we can have teams and Melee start earlier. We had a severe lack of set ups at the last tournament. I will grab the TV I lent Sos since it's mine anyways. Houston/Magnolia needs to bring a tv or two.

I've never been to a Final Smash before, but I'm starting to get into tournaments and this sounds fun. I voted June 28th because it provides the most leeway to get ready and make sure you have a clear schedule for it.

Some major tournament coming up around the other weekends.

June 7 - I think Houston has a smash tourny going on this day.

June 14 - AZ tournament

June 21 - Midwest Challenge (if anyone cares), not to mention there is someone from SA trying to get a Smash tournament on that day as well (unless The MC Clusky = Kyle, then nevermind lol)

June 28 - NOTHING AT THE MOMENT

If I do two days, housing won't be my problem. Dunno if I have more than singles on day 1.

Besides, no one plays Melee here in SA anymore. I'm retired. SOS is retired. Everyone else in SAK retired ages ago, and everyone at UTSA is casual (albeit good though).

It's up to people from out of town to support Melee.

I'm probably going to have my street fighter tournament thing on the 21st and FS4 on the 28th.

As for the lot of you that voted the 7th, I think I could see about a Brawl team and a Melee singles tourney, leaving the main event of singles for the 28th.

Whose down for that 7th idea?

With houston's june 7th tourney, no one from houston would be coming if you did a 7th event. We probably couldn't afford the gas for two trips anyway, heh.
