<p align="left"> Just as a little background information, Petey is a Piranha Plant that has taken on a large form and a disgusting habit. Shown here, Petey is making a mess of things on the Island Delphino. In Super Mario Sunshine, Mario had to use his ultra dousing abilities to hose down this foul mouthed fiend. Look how large his is compared to Mario! This guy is definitely a boss character.</p>

<p align="left">In Mario Kart Double Dash (which is a terrible mess of a game, but I won’t get into that now) Petey and King Boo were unlockable characters. Both were classified as large and heavy characters, and could only fit in the largest of karts. Due to a lack of creativity, Petey and Boo had the ability to use other character’s special items making the whole games less special. But what’s important is he’s still relatively large.</p>

<p align="left">Petey’s latest appearance is in Mario Strikers Charged (my latest favorite game). Once again, players must unlock this beast. In Strikers Petey is large like Bowser, but more top heavy. And as his special, he can spew his slogy guts all around him.</p>

Petey is growing in popularity, and it’s all thanks to the Gamecube era. And now it looks like he may be a boss character in Brawl’s single player. How can I say this? Well, we all know Metaknight is in Brawl. Yet why hasn’t he been announced? Haven’t all the other non-3rd-party characters been announced that were originally shown?

<p align="left">I think that because Metaknight is evil and that’s his ship flying around causing havoc for Mario and friends, Metaknight is a key player in this sinister plot. Key player will probably mean some kind of boss character somewhere down the road. After all, what sense does it make for Metaknight to fight against his own evil plan or his own ship? Unless it was taken from him. Oooooo story mode. Regardless, it’s no coincidence that Nintendo is revealing known Nintendo enemies in such ways. And he’s something else to chew on. Why would Sakurai and Team bother making a character model with all the bells and whistles and graphics and sound and moves and not make him playable somehow? Sure Petey is pretty big, but his sizes seems to be quite variable. Maybe if we feed him less?</p>

Sorry Masher 14, but he is Kirby’s arch rival. He’s kinda mysterious though. He certainly wasn’t evil in Kirby Canvas Curse so you still have a chance.

All of the important characters (except maybe Kirby) get extra detail to their designs. You can see it in Mario, Link, the three Pokemon controlled by Pokemon Trainer (yet his own model appears cheap by comparison), and Peach, for example. Petey has the same textures.

wario, dk and bowser are all arch enemies of mario, but they haven’t been seen helping the greatest and most dangerous and biggest threat to earth and every living beïng on it, including heaven, since pit is joining in.

Pit is not from Heaven. Kid Icarus draws more on Greek mythology than Christian. The name Icarus even invokes where his wings come from.

Also, I say it really doesn’t matter in the long run whether characters like Petey Piranha and the Primids are playable. With things like action replay they’ll all eventually be playable anyway, right?

So far we know that Kirby remains uncaptured so presumabley he’ll be the one doing the fighting/rescuing. Kirby’s boss will be Metaknight (evil) surely!

This all remains to be seen.

Does anyone find it odd that Petey resembles something like a Kraken or a T-Rex with that roar. It feels like Smash Bros is growing older and cooler.

And I very much think that Petey is most likely just a boss than a playable character. I think what Sakurai is doing with single player is making the stlye different with more actual boss characters, instead of just fighting the other regulars to make it more exciting.
There’s a lot more excitment when your fighting something that you can’t just fight in multiplayer, especially when you know that your friend is better than the computer.

By having boss characters throughout storymode, (entirely or partially) it makes the story mode more epic, harder, and more exciting. I mean, I’ve already faced Mario, Kirby, Pikachu, Link etc. twice! Let’s make things interesting.

Or maybe have a feature in multiplayer where you can team up with your friends and face another computer/player who’s controlling a boss character that may otherwise too powerfull.

Ahhh once again THOR-AXE The Wise must speak. On behalf of Meta-knight I think he is most likely evil at the start of the quest, but, as he faces off against the good brawlers he sees more honor in what they fight for, so he ends up switching sides. What u guys think of THORE-AXE’s words?.

You seem to be forgetting that Meta Knight WAS on the first revealed Adventure Mode screenshots. Wich means you can play as him in it, as you will most probably be able to with all characters…

BUT… I think If you choose Mario or kirby, you get one version of the story, etc… So Petey isn’t necessarely playable, he might be a boss, after all Giga Bowser, the Hands, Metal Mario and others were not playable… That would give a spot to Ridley too… And would explain why Meta Knight is seen in the screens, maybe he just has a different story, that is more on the side of the Primid? He helps them, then changes his mind and get kickd off, and seek revenge, something like that..

And I totally agree with EdwardGordon! Bosses characters make the adventure mode way better, cause fighting the other characters, well its for multiplayer mainly xD We’re used to it…

I think MetaKnight is the kind of character, that got dishonorly caught by surprise by the new villain, and got his ship taken from him.

And he’s cool enough just to stop the new badguy from taking over the world, just to get his ship back.

He doesn’t care about good or evil, he cares about honor and power.
He’s not evil or good.

Not quite. I’m saying MetaKnight works alone, and will just use the good guys to get his ship back. Not to be evil, but only to get what is rightfully his.
He may work for others or with others, but he always has his own agenda.

Oooh, I like the idea of honour and power, not good and evil for metaknight. That fits very nicely. His ’story’ could be very cool if they do it with that view in mind.

For me there are different kinds of villains, with different kind of goals.

-A villain could want power (ganondorf)
-A villain could just be greedy (wario)
-A villain will stop evil, just because they want to be the evil one. (bowser)
-A villain will appear to be good just to get what he/she wants (metaknight)
-A villain just hates everything (mewtwo)
-A villain just likes being evil (ashnard)
-A villain does evil things just because they don’t like the good guy(bowser and others)

On a different note: Did anyone think of ROB 64 from StarFox 64 when they read the R.O.B acronym? Coincidence?………….yea most likely, but still interesting.

Actually those little ROB robot things were originally an external attachment made for the NES. And ever since then they’ve popped up all over the place in nintendo games. ROB 64 was named after them for example, one was playable in mariokart DS, there’s a massive robotic statue of one on an F-Zero track on the gamecube etc etc.

Response :this statements seems unlikely. What would be the individual goals of each villain to join forces with a giant hand. What does the Hand have to offer them?

Response: Each character is enveloped with their own personal quest, which makes it unlikely that each character will be placed on a good side or bad.

Though it would be interesting. I just think there are better ideas for storylines instead of: “save the world vs conquer the world”

Actually.. the Metaknight speciallity is to hide himself as a villian to sneak up the plans of his enemies within. Maybe he just saw the plans of the Subspace army and then they asked him to be part or die on the process and choose to be part obviously… Just watch the anime (sad and childish but still).

About the cannonballs the only one in my mind (and really would be great) its the powerful King K. Rool *o* (wut? if there will be enemies like ripley or Petey Piranha [he would fit as Peach enemy btw] Donkey must have one too xD)
