This. Wushu is the most entertaining to watch hands down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUcmGzS5SGEi dont do any but I like Wushu the most, then Muay Thai.
Wushu's got weapons of unique quality. Chain Whips & 3-section staffs. zomg...*drools*
Muay Thai because of powerful strikes.
haha nice stinkomanfan
loooooollllI really hate taekwondo. Really horrible memories. While people were already punching and kicking I was still doing stances and what not. I did it for like 2 weeks before I quit because I couldnt do it...
I'm surprised no one has replied to this...HELL YEA!!Anyone know about Jeet Kune Do?
Quoted for truth.Kickboxing probably,
I like to beat people up,
But I hate doing forms so I dropped Karate,
All I want to do is fight. Not learn some silly dance.
yes, i would say so. it's just the european equivalent to kendo.Would fencing count as a martial art?
nice i like that"I do not fear the ten thousand kicks you have practiced once. I fear the one kick you have practiced ten thousand times." - Shaolin proverb
If you get the opportunity, maybe look for a new dojo.nice i like that
ya the reason i quit was that all the older people left (stupid YMCA raising the prices) so al the little kids were left and the only one left to spar with was the teacher....i mean it was fun and all but i want more people that are not 6 years old.......
A17;8082033 Anyone know about Jeet Kune Do?[/QUOTE said:Yes sir I do know about it. Isn't it the martial art that Bruce Lee invented? Or maybe I'm mixing it up with the martial art his master practiced....Either way, both are quite interesting martial arts which make good use of pressure points, leaverage, and joint manipulation.
My favorite martial art to watch would be TKD. I'm sorry, but while MMA fights are far more practical, it's not the prettiest nor the most exciting thing to watch.
My favorite martial art to practice would probably be a mix up between TKD and Muay Thai, with some boxing thrown in there for good measure.
Yes sir, it is.Isn't it the martial art that Bruce Lee invented?
Haha awesome proverb."I do not fear the ten thousand kicks you have practiced once. I fear the one kick you have practiced ten thousand times." - Shaolin proverb
Lol, yeah. He figured out a lot of subtle things, like how the stance of the western boxing punch was superior to the Japanese Karate punch as far as power, speed, and torque are concerned. He took a bunch of ideas like this and created his own style. That sounds exactly like something Bruce Lee would do.
Drunken Boxing. It is somewhat in efficant compared to the other Animal styles of Wushu.Whats the name of that one? I think its called Drunken Fist. Its the fighting style that fat guy from Mortal Kombat knows. Its awesome drunken fighting!!!
Such a pity. Stances are very crucial in forming the right technique. It shows more than just being able to understand body fluency. It shows strength, precision, and adaptation.I really hate taekwondo. Really horrible memories. While people were already punching and kicking I was still doing stances and what not. I did it for like 2 weeks before I quit because I couldnt do it... I remember why I wanted to join. My teacher said I had good character and I thought she said karate soooo........... yeah I was like 5 when she said that.
Wushu or Martial art, translates into 'The Fighting Arts'. Any form of combat can be considered a Martial art.Would fencing count as a martial art?
Jeet Kune Do, The way of the intercepting fist. More of a philosophy, the original MMA. Or at least the outline of it. Implies that each person's fighting style is different. As such each different MA are unique and has there pro's and con's.I'm surprised no one has replied to this...HELL YEA!!
JKD is Awesome, Bruce Lee is Awesome and my martial art idol.
I really want to learn this style as well, it's very adaptive and has no limitations, patterns or predictability (which I believe is wrong with other martial arts). Although I've read that JKD is kinda a dying out...
Bruce Lee quote on his fighting style. Jeet Kune Do
http://www.fightingmaster.com/masters/brucelee/quotes.htm
I have not invented a "new style," composite, modified or otherwise that is set within distinct form as apart from "this" method or "that" method. On the contrary, I hope to free my followers from clinging to styles, patterns, or molds.
There is no mystery about my style. My movements are simple, direct and non-classical. The extraordinary part of it lies in its simplicity. Every movement in Jeet Kune-Do is being so of itself. There is nothing artificial about it. I always believe that the easy way is the right way. Jeet Kune-Do is simply the direct expression of one's feelings with the minimum of movements and energy. The closer to the true way of Kung Fu, the less wastage of expression there is.
Simple fact that truth exists outside all molds; pattern and awareness is never exclusive.
Again let me remind you Jeet Kune Do is just a name used, a boat to get one across, and once across it is to be discarded and not to be carried on one's back.
While this is true it has certain techniques to its own. Such as its low kicks, and punch techniques.Jeet Kune Do is not a particular style in general, just an adaptation of fighting knowledge to create an ultimate, or at least very effective self-invented style.
Capoeria, I love it so much. It is more of a sport and recreational MA than anything else. But none the less it can be devastating and beautiful.my favorite style is Capoeira. if you dont know what that is just picture eddie Gordo from tekken.
