How the heck did they forget about SMYM?

Utilt is also great. But getting back on topic, who else uses F-tilt for edgeguarding?

Most guys I've played against don't see it coming, even if it's a slow starter... they're expecting me to jump and uair them.

Rofl at where Falcon Board's discussions go.

As far as ftilt...

I think I can utilize this in my overall game more, and of course always angle it up.. Use it when you're too far away to jab and not far away enough to safely utilt.

Ftilt isn't too bad overall for Falcon. It's average speed for a tilt. Sometimes I'll go with jab>jab>ftilt instead of a grab to mix things up. Down angled can set up some nasty wall locks, it's just not likely to happen much. Down-angled ftilt x3 > Dsmash is brutal.

-jumbled thoughts- 3.5/5 Knees.

Wall lock...

You can lock opponents that fall on the ground (what's the term for that?) but not only is it situational it's also percent dependent.

Oh, I see. So a good setup for that would be a flubbed knee, if I get you correctly?

No, when they're flat on the ground lol. They're in a different animation after a trip.

The most practical use would be after Falcon pushes a shielding opponent off a platform.

Interesting... never thought about doing that. Gotta practice!

PS: I footstool a lot when I'm trying to gimp, but it's mostly accidental, lol.

The closest thing I've done to the Fanfus Loop in a tournament match was [on ROB, obv] FH Nair -> Footstool -> FH Nair -> Jab -> Jab -> Ftilt.

Pulling it off on a good ROB is hard though. Samus, probably much easier.

This reminds me I still havent published the entire list of chars the fhanfus loop works on, lol.

I hope I saved it as a .doc somewhere

It works on Marth? I'm going to have to practice that. It won't be too useful against him though since a Marth shouldn't be standing on the ground all that much for it to work.

And approaching him by trying to get a FH Nair is sorta silly. lol

Yes, it works on him.
Though the timing is even more strict, as they'll be mashing up b. =P

True.

But FHN's happen in the progress of the game, most of the time.
No need to approach with it, or go out of your way, to get one in.

Marth is definitely one of Falcon's worst match-ups at a professional level.

Meta Knight, Marth, Olimar, Pikachu
-; in no particular order.

Not really.

I got wrecked by one at my last tourney. It was only after the set I remembered you don't play defensive against Snake.
Snakes tilts>falcon

Not to mention the wide variety of strats. and **** snake has up his sleave.
Both long range and close range.

So yes, its safe to say he's heavily underrated here.

I'll give you that, but not that good, either.

I personally think Falco is worse for Falcon than Marth since his physics make him harder to juggle and because his spotdodge occasionally does really gay things to Falcon. Not saying that Marth isn't super horrible for Falcon though.

And people need to use more F-tilt for anti-airs. Aside from say, Bowser's F-tilt, Falcon has one of the best anti-air F-tilts in the game.

^Lol, agreed on that one.

About Dtilt: a very nice move, has good range and at low percents it sets up easy follow-ups. It's also fast if you don't crouch before using the move (if you smash your joystick down and press A, Falcon will crouch and attack. If you just tip your joystick downwards and press A, Falcon will go from standing animation to Dtilt animation).

Not a killer move, not the best Dtilt of the game, but I like it regardless.

Sorry sir but after an FF aerial I learn you can do a buffered dtilt by hitting down c stick at the end of the frames of the landing lag. Very much like it after FF uair or FF FH nair. Not sure for the timing.

... And you say you're sorry why? I never said the Dtilt was awful. In fact, it's great! I just said it isn't the best.

The only time I use Dtilt is:

1.) After a FH Nair, low as it can possibly go, on a floaty character.
2.) After a FH Nair -> Jab -> Jab on the remainder of the roster.

Too much cooldown time and awkward frame-rate to be viable otherwise.
