Yoshi and Ness are top tier contenders in Smash 4 and Mr. G&W went from low tier to upper-mid from Melee --> Brawl, but I think those are the only three (unless you count Sonic as low tier in Brawl). I'd say Mewtwo has a fair shot at getting to the higher tiers if he does end up being based off of Melee. No edgehogging buffs his recovery a lot and kill throws are really useful in this game. The current air dodge will allow his floatiness to be quite as much of an issue as it was in the past since he will be able to do it multiple times and the floatiness will also help him escape from certain combos easier.Has a low tier character ever really amounted to anything better than mid tier in this series? Like, Ness and Zelda seem to be bad in every game they appear in and I don't think I've ever seen Link not be sup-par. Mewtwo will at least probably rank better than it was in Melee even if it is just an updated version of its Melee counterpart. The slower pace favors Mewtwo more than Melee, Mewtwo's meteor would not scream "Punish me with an Up B cancel", and Mewtwo would be the undisputed throw champion.
It doesn't matter to me anyway because I'm not that big into the meta game. I play zany matches with my friends.
Sure.Let's keep this about Mewtwo.
I'm going to be as bold to say that Mewtwo needs a complete 180 to be a much better character in this new Smash Day and Age of ours. Because so much has changed in the last couple of years Mewtwo was last seen in a canon Smash Game.Yoshi and Ness are top tier contenders in Smash 4 and Mr. G&W went from low tier to upper-mid from Melee --> Brawl, but I think those are the only three (unless you count Sonic as low tier in Brawl). All he really needs is is a more useful Confusion + Disable, a better jab and better ground speed and he'll be fine.
Yes, I do expect quite a few changes to happen to Mewtwo given the development time the dev team is using, but I was speaking under the assumption that he would retain his Melee moveset because that's what the person I was replying to was talking about and that moveset is the only moveset that we truly know.I'm going to be as bold to say that Mewtwo needs a complete 180 to be a much better character in this new Smash Day and Age of ours. And they are taking quite the time to work on Mewtwo is I do not expect him to play like anything from Melee...now que the people who dispise anything that is not Melee
Good call, kupo. It must've been the dancing Chocobos that threw me off. What Chocobos, kupo? The ones in my head, silly!Sorry, Spirst, but for as long as you use that avatar, Unwritten Rule of the Internets #237 states that you must end all of your messages with "kupo," kupo.
You are just too adorable~Good call, kupo. It must've been the dancing Chocobos that threw me off. What Chocobos, kupo? The ones in my head, silly!
I mean who wouldn't, he's so much cooler, I mean who wouldn't want his powerful energy, and his graceful flowing locks, his chiseled jawline and his strong masculine bod......I would use a Ganon based on Hyrule Warriors, for that matter. He just looks so badass there.
You flatter this moogle, kupo. You are just too adorable~
Quas-Quas has finally added Mewtwo's portrait to his character roster.
IT LOOKS SO FREAKING AWESOME! GAH! <3
...oh.
We've known this for a while...not up to...
SPEEEED
are we.
jk lol
...oh.
Oops. -.-;
Anyways, I actually had a dream last night where I had just downloaded Mewtwo. He played very differently then what I was expecting. One of the major things was that his run speed increased over time- as in, he started off slow when you dashed, but then got to around Sonic's speed after about 4 seconds.
Indeed he did. I also remember his Dair having a new animation, but still retaining its meteor smash properties.
But did he still float when dashing?

Good dreams. In my dreams, Mewtwo uses the Miriam Pultro voice and femtwo mannerisms :3c

I'm sure that Mewtwo's female voice actor would sound much better if it was official in Smash. (But the Final Smash part was awesome.)
Sounded pretty meh if you ask me. Makes Mewtwo feel weak for such a strong Pokemon. Much prefer the Melee voice it had. The voice needs to feel powerful. It makes Bowser's grunts sound good.
inb4 actual IRL Mewtwo bottle opener
I laughed inconceivably hard at these pics.
Are you talking about Frieza?Considering who is on the development team (Bamco), I wonder if Mewtwo's going to have some influence in fighting style from a certain other white and purple creature of battle....
It's kind of hilarious that mew2king's reaction to the Mewtwo reveal was "Is that Frieza?"
He has it comin, yo.Oh wouldn't it be great if I could pull a Krillin on Pikachu.
Both the fake kill and the real kill.
I'm ever astonished when i see D'alema being an international meme XD
