Well, this is killjoy. But, Sakurai is 20 40-something, so he's far from retiring. He thought the same thing with both Melee and Brawl, and even said so himself, so I doubt this statement is going to be valid next generation. If Sakurai was in his late 50s or 60s, it'd be a different story, but he isn't.
And, even if he does retire, it's highly likely someone else will direct Smash 5. The series is just too big and to much fun to just let it die.

I bet it's just a massive shortage of controllers. I'm sure everything will be back to normal eventually.
I personally have no problem using a Wiimote or the Gamepad, and, as a person who fairly plays semi-casually, I see no reason to prioritize the Adapters. I understand it's the preferred method of control for competitive Smashers, but I personally honestly don't care for them that much, at least until my priority list shortens significantly.

Finally, a moment of silence for the end of the PoTDs, who always there for us when we needed new info.

Seriously, though, I'm sure we'll get pics of Mewtwo once he's ready to be shown off, though they might not regularly scheduled. I mean, Sakurai even mentioned him in the final PoTD. I'd say that probably means something.

I preordered one on Amazon when they were announced, but Amazon apparently doesn't know what "pre-order" means and didn't try to take the payment out til the controller actually released and I didn't have that money anymore. Thanks to Best Buy, I got one! As I said, I'm sure the adapters will restock soon.

I suppose I do slightly, but quite honestly I wouldn't worry myself about that. Mewtwo, while added after development was complete, was a highly requested character, and remains highly anticipated. It wouldn't make any sense to only do a half-decent job, and it certainly wouldn't look good on Nintendo. I have full confidence that Mewtwo will be just as high quality as the rest of the cast. The Smash 4 team has done an amazing job so far, and I see no sign of them slowing down.

Regardless if you agree or not with the decisions Sakurai has made, it's very clear that he's worked extremely hard in this iteration of Smash Bros. I doubt he'd slack in making Mewtwo a better character.

And let's be honest, if Bowser could become a better character, so can Mewtwo.

Has a low tier character ever really amounted to anything better than mid tier in this series? Like, Ness and Zelda seem to be bad in every game they appear in and I don't think I've ever seen Link not be sup-par. Mewtwo will at least probably rank better than it was in Melee even if it is just an updated version of its Melee counterpart. The slower pace favors Mewtwo more than Melee, Mewtwo's meteor would not scream "Punish me with an Up B cancel", and Mewtwo would be the undisputed throw champion.

It doesn't matter to me anyway because I'm not that big into the meta game. I play zany matches with my friends.

The word "competitive" among non serious competing friends in Smash is rather subjective. My friends are good at Brawl and I can still demolish them with Snake.

I guess it's just so disappointing to see such a great bad guy vanish for seven years, get the mother of all idiotic retcons applied to him, finally make a triumphant resurgence as a playable character in another spinoff game only for him to still be a joke character in SSB.

Honestly, I think Ganondorf got considerably buffed from Brawl, and I agree that the current tier lists are wildly inaccurate. Plus he seems to perform better overall since Smash 4 is faster. Still wish they would have diversified him from Falcon a bit, but at least he has Tha People's Elbow.

I dunno, maybe that's just me. I'm in a pretty competitive group down here and there are some very skilled Smash 4 Ganondorf mains.

Well, I did mention Brawl in one post. And on the subject of U/3DS, current tier lists are unreliable, but I'll concede Ganon is better in casual play since I've faced a few Ganons here and there and gotten beaten down.

He just reminds me so much of Kratos there. Someone could remove Ganon's model to use Kratos' model and I wouldn't notice the difference.
