Yes! Also...think about it...they have to hype the game around release. Sakurai may be saving Mewtwo (and maybe Ridley but that's another discussion) for the final reveal(s). No other characters will hype the game as much as these two, especially Mewtwo since he's highly requested worldwide.

The thing I'm thinking though is that, with Sept 13th being 54 days away they could start revealing more and more characters. Assuming that Sakurai wants to reveal all before the 13th (even secret characters) and we'd be getting around 50 characters, I wouldn't be surprised if they start revealing veterans every other week (like this weekend at SDCC.) And newcomers, well, depending on how many of them there are left, at least two probably, there would be one in August and another in September. The last newcomer I think they'd show would be the best, which would be Ridley. Alongside Mewtwo? Maybe. I wonder if he's taken that in consideration because the WHOLE Smash community would EXPLODE.

I hope they reveal Mewtwo soon though because I am SOOOOO eager to find out if he's in. I'm pretty sure he's in, we just need official confirmation!

I don't think I could give a specific chance score at this point, but he seems likely, since he has basically everything in his favor and the "slot" argument took a hit with Lucina. At this point, it seems like a question of whether or not Sakurai believes Mewtwo is worth including, and I don't see any reason why he wouldn't. However, there is the possibility it may not happen. No character is a guarantee. But there is a lot in his favor.

I guess you would call it a fan art crossover? League of Legends x Pokemon. The character being portrayed is known as Syndra. She kinda has a similar back story as to Mewtwo. Society tries to control her so that her power doesn't grow. Her power keeps increasing exponentially and so she was isolated from society. Meanwhile Mewtwo was tried to be controlled by society for their use. Syndra is my favorite champion from the LoL and Mewtwo was my main in Project M, I just like the idea of the most powerful beings being together.

Techincally Pokemon had 6 reps in Brawl. Considering that PKMN Trainer was 3 in 1, Charizard now has his own slot, and that Squirtle was theoretically scrapped for new gen 6 Greninja, I think that pokemon can have at least 7 reps. Those being Pikachu, Jiggs, Lucario, Charizard, Greninja, Mewtwo, and possibly Sceptile if they continue the pattern. Granted it does seem like a lot and over representation.

The Jiggernaut is a character I've enjoyed in smash for years, cutting her for anyone other than Mewtwo would be devastating. Even if she was cut for Mewtwo it would be a double edged sword for me I want em both and I think they both deserve to be in at this point, and I think 6 reps for pokemon is fine. They technically had 6 in Brawl, plus it's Nintendo's second biggest IP, I think 6 is the perfect number. More than that would be too much imo.

Hopefully, there won't be any missing veterans aside from Snake, Ivysaur, and Squirtle. One of the reasons I'm so attached to the idea of the original 12 is because I started Smashing with the 64 version when I was 5 or 6. If one of them was missing, it wouldn't feel entirely like a Super Smash Bros game to me. I freaked out when I unlocked Mewtwo in Melee, but I've played Brawl so much more even with him not being there. So I think with this one, if they took the time to tweak Mewtwo and make him a really fun, balanced fighter and decided to just release him as free DLC instead of worrying about deadlines and just not putting him in the game, I'd be perfectly fine with that if it means Jigglypuff gets to stay. Plus I do really like playing as Jigglypuff.

And Metaknight. To be fair though, they said the same thing about Capt. Falcon until recently. They'll be in, no doubt. Unless they're replaced by newcomers from the same franchise which is unlikely.

As much as I'd like to see more Zelda characters, I don't know about the 666 theory, it's too limiting. And Giratina what? Never heard of that one.

I've always thought of Wario and Yoshi as Mario characters (they may have their own emblems but they definitely rep Mario too, they appear in more Mario stuff than their own stuff xD) I think Zelda is fine at 5, it's not as big as Mario or Pokemon. Either way DLC, if they choose to do it, can add more Mario and Zelda characters!
