I could give a few. Honestly the easy way would be to make him a small Bowser clone. Reduce his power a bit, but he's faster and harder to hit in the process.

In terms of original moves he could be spit out a fireball as oppose to breathing fire. And if Squirtle isn't coming back give Bowser Jr. his Withdraw move.

That's what I thought would most likely happen if he was added, a lighter & weaker Bowser with a different standard and side special.

He could use his paintbrush as a battering weapon, could spread paint traps with it, shoot blob projectiles, create those goop Piranha Plants, toss shells, use his mini clown copter, breath fireballs rather than a fire stream, throw bob-ombs, or if you really want to use something odd, his Sonic Roar from Mario Strikers.

I see your point, personally I don't like him. He's annoying in the most recent titles. His Sunshine incarnation is the only one I've ever liked. There's no denying he could have a different moveset as Bowser (If WFT got a moveset...), I just don't think he would have as a unique moveset as the other two.

He can:
-Run into people (NSMB)
-Retreat into shell (NSMB)
-Use black magic [reviving Bowser] (NSMB)
-Summon shells to throw (NSMB)
-Summon bob-ombs (NSMBU)
-Fly a clown-car (NSMBW)
-Shoot small fire blasts (NSMBW)
-Pilot lots of machines (SMG)
and, though I hate to say it:
-Paintbrush (SMS)

There's probably more but I can't remember them right now.

I am familiar with what he does, but appreciate you taking the time to put up the videos for me to see. I just don't think he could be that interesting a character. All he has to him is that he's Bowser's annoying son. If you guys support him it's cool, I just don't like his character.

I personally don't think he has a space on the roster (I think I gave this speech before somewhere), I used to, but I don't anymore. When the Koopalings were reintroduced in NSMBW I was like "Hey, that's cool." but then they returned in NSMB2, and then NSMBU. They basically took away his one series, New Super Mario Bros. So I don't see him as anything more than an Assist Trophy, which I hope he gets. I'd prefer Captain Toad, as he'd basically be a promotion, but he'd be an interesting promotion in my eyes.

Now that I think of it, I think it was the Ridley thread that I said this before.

Yeah I feel the same way about him being a AT. Maybe uses the clown car while shooting fireballs from the air? Sorta like Lakitu. We're getting way off topic so... in conclusion, #Mewtwo4Sm4sh!

You know what would upset me. Smash 4 comes out and Mewtwo's on the roster. Then, years later the community has gotten all the information off the disc and found out that Mewtwo had data on the disc...

Oh, god, sorry! I've been threadhopping between here and Ridley Support for the past week. I get my posts mixed up, especially bc of how off topic it gets over at Ridley Support.

Do you mean that Mewtwo's not on the roster? Or can you explain that last part differently, I'm lost.

Alright thanks! Yeah that'd suck. On the bright side, the Wii U and 3DS can both handle DLC and Patch Updates, so even if he is left unfinished, he can get in through DLC.

Before I get to Mewtwo I will admit I really like the Koopalings. I like Bowser Jr as well though.

Ok now that that's out of the way I'll say my idea of a villains trailer.

The time is sunset in the canyon where Megaman and Greninja were revealed. Bowser is riding in the Koopa Clown Car when suddenly Mario appears. Mario chases him, jumps up and knocks away the Clown Car and sends Bowser down to the ground. Bowser gets back up and shoots fire at Mario. Mario dodges the fire and they have a face off. All of a sudden Link, Pikachu, DK, and Kirby appear surrounding Bowser( leaving Samus out because I think the Ridley reveal should be towards the release date ). Bowser laughs to their surprise as the time changes to night. On a cliff overlooking them a figure with a cape and a sword laughs as well. This is revealed to be Ganondorf. Next to Ganondorf a humanoid alien looking creature, another figure with a sword and cape but this one is smaller, and a crocodile king looking creature appear. They are revealed to be Mewtwo, Meta Knight, and King K. Rool. They all jump and land in front of their series respective hero. Their movesets are then all shown against their hero on a stage from their series. After all of that it goes back to the canyon and the camera zooms in on a figure on a motorcycle coming towards them. They all stop and look towards the figure who then laughs. It is revealed to be Wario, but then all the heroes and villains launch projectiles at the bike which explodes. Wario flies into the air and is about to land on them with all of them yelling when the trailer ends.


EDIT: Wolf should be in this too but I forgot him. Just add him and Fox into this as well.

Instead of a villains or psychic trailer, why not a trailer with Lucario? I haven't seen it in a CGI trailer yet, maybe Sakurai is saving Lucario for a face to face encounter with Mewtwo (and throw Jigglypuff into the fray cause why the hell not?).

I thought of a trailer idea, but the more it developed in my mind, the more it seemed darker than what they'd usually do. So, I don't find this as a realistic villains trailer, but I thought I'd share it with you guys. It seemed like too good of an idea to let go to waste. (KIM that I'm not by any means a writer, so sorry for how bad this is going to look. Also it's very opinionated with the villains I want in Smash, sorry about that part too. This takes place as the last trailer to be revealed for Smash 4).

Spoiler: Warning: Long Story...

The trailer opens up on the Mii of the Mii Swordsman in a suit, on the set for Mii News in Tomodachi Life. He's talking in the regular monotone Mii voice, informing the audience about the recent darkening of the sky over the island, and how it's been going on for a week. He goes to the interviews (like in the regular Mii News) and the first Mii pops on screen. The background is noticeably darker, as if it were nighttime. The Mii on camera starts to talk but is interrupted by being jumped by Bowser, who proceeds to lift said Mii up. Orange pellets are shot at Bowser from off camera, and he flies away. The scene naturally cuts back to the Mii New Office where it is empty, the Swordsman is gone. The scene goes outside to where you see the Mii Swordfighter in his Smash Gear running towards Bowser from the Mii News Offices. Bowser is getting up when the three Mii Fighters all reach him. A small white ball flashes in between them and Bowser, which quickly snaps into Mewtwo (he used teleport). Mewtwo blasts the three Miis away, and his title card shows. He laughs and it cuts back to the Miis, who are trying to get up. Mario, Link, Kirby, and Pikachu jump in front of the Mii Fighters to stand in between them and Mewtwo. They all stop when the sky starts rumbling. The dark clouds all disappear, as Bowser's airship is flown in by Ganondorf. His title card is displayed, and he jumps down from the airship, landing perfectly fine. He runs at Link, and they break off into a one on one battle. Mario goes after Bowser and Pikachu goes against Mewtwo (one on one battles). The screen pans to Kirby, who has nobody to fight. He runs to help the struggling Link, but is stopped by Meta-Knight who swoops in and slashes at Kirby, causing him to get hit away. Meta-Knight's title card is shown and he flies at Kirby, who is now ready to fight. The screen goes back to Link and Ganondorf, who are still fighting furiously. It seems like Ganon has the upper hand, and he grabs Link and throws him on the ground, the master sword skidding away. Ganon looks as if he's about to finish it, when he is hit by Toon Link's bomb, saving Link. While Ganon is stunned, Toon Link jumps at him to try to finish Ganon, but is held in the air for a bit, and then thrown the opposite direction. It is revealed that Vaati did this, who gets his title card shown. Meanwhile, Pikachu is failing against Mewtwo, who is blasted back by Thunder, and he decides to Mega Evolve. He becomes Mega Mewtwo X, and dashes at Pikachu with increased speed. Jigglypuff slams into Mega Mewtwo X using Play Rough, which blasts Mega Mewtwo X backwards. Pikachu and Jigglypuff have a friendly greeting (c'mon they're Pokemon, they have to ). Mario is completely beating Bowser, but is punched out by Wario, who jumps in to help Bowser. Kirby and Meta-Knight seem to be having an even fight, but at one point Meta-Knight gets the upper hand and kicks Kirby over. He swoops down from the air to finish Kirby (that looping move from Brawl he had) but it grabbed by a beam of blue light. The beam belongs to Samus, who arrives just in time to save Kirby. The rest of the Original 12 have shown up at this point (even if they weren't shown) and they all form a line side by side (the Miis left after they were defeated). The villains line up, too. Mewtwo lifts Samus with psychic, but is shot away by Ness. Mewtwo and Ness go into an in-depth psychic battle against each other. The others go to try to attack Mewtwo, but they are easily prevented by the villains. Samus, charging her charge shot, runs towards Ganondorf who has Link pinned down. She aims to shoot Ganon, but is roughly grabbed and misses the shot. She is thrown into the air where she sees that Ridley threw her upwards. Ridley screeches and his title card shows. He flies at Samus who fires a missile at him. There's an explosion and the screen fades to gameplay of the villains beating up the heroes in Smash 4.

I was originally going to add a Kid Icarus villain in that, but I wanted an O12 trailer for awhile, especially with the amazing CGI that's been being put into these trailers. Sorry for how long that was... I had a lot in my head.

I actually think a villains trailer is a possibility at this point, considering how we just got a trailer that revealed two newcomers and an unrelated veteran simultaneously. And since the most wanted characters at this point happen to be villains, it would be the perfect finale for reveals before the game is released.

100% agree. Also, the fact that there aren't really any villains in the roster at the moment, other than Bowser and Dedede, the odds seem to be hinting at a villains trailer. And Mewtwo would be the perfect Lucina type character to be in the trailer (since they're both semi-newcomers.) I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two returning vets and a real (villainous) newcomer.

I personally think Mewtwo falls into the same "teasing you because he's in" category as Ridley. They both were teased with no up front deconfirmations (which Sakurai seems to do with no hesitation to prevent further speculation.) Ridley had the "boss" shadow and Mewtwo had the Greninja shadow. He's in. Dagnabit!

We're still in the same month as the Robin-Lucina-Falcon reveal, so I'm not expecting anything, personally. But it would be a pretty opportune time for Nintendo to introduce at least a veteran.

It's San Diego Comic Con, who would pass up a chance of being the hot news of SDCC? I hope that's their mindset anyway. Especially since they have MUCH more to reveal about the game, I expect something really awesome to be revealed. Not saying characters will be revealed, but I'm eager to hear about some new details. Also being SDCC, if they want to make a major appearance, that would be the best place for big reveals.

To be realistic though, it's also possible they might not announce anything, mainly due to the fact that they don't want to be overshadowed by all the big news coming from SDCC and/or maybe they feel like their audience isn't big enough seeing as it's mostly movies/tv/comics. We'll see though.

To be fair, SDCC is farrrr more popular than EVO and the World Hobby Fair (I didn't even know the latter existed.) The whole world will basically be tuning to hear all the latest geek news those 3-4 days. And according to the article (linking it here just in case people were wondering - thanks to @ Steelia for bringing it up) they're trying to make their "biggest presence ever", so this definitely looks promising. I'm not expecting Mewtwo either, but I'm sure some news will come out of it. Maybe they'll have (some of) the recently revealed characters playable - that's the least I'd expect from them.

Meh, it depends how mischievous and how premeditative Sakurai is. If he premeditated the viewer/fan responses, he would know that if they reveal Greninja like that, then the crowd would automatically assume Mewtwo because it's the closest guess anyone can make. But it could also be just a coincidence.

Also, it depends what you mean by "semi-newcomer". Lucina has the potential to be far different from Marth despite having a cloned moveset (which is also new) and has a new character model that's never been seen in the series. That to me defines a semi-newcomer.

He's as close to an antagonistic Pokemon as we have. Even freakin nightmare-inducing pitch-black Pokemon Darkrai was a good guy. You're not wrong that he's neutral, even in SSBM his Japanese victory quotes portrayed him as the troubled yet powerful being we know and love. But his intimidating demeanor and menacing voice give him a rather evil vibe.
