I doubt you need to bring any sort of equipment other than a controller. I think Jordan was planning to be out of Texas around this time as well. As much as I love the better chance at making top 8 with Wes and Jordan not being there, I'd love to see them represent because they deserve it and would almost assuredly make top 8.

Alright coach! If you go to EVO you think the rest of the crew can go to? Also if we go to EVO are we still going to HOST2?

You know they probably won't have teams...

Considering they have so many tournaments to run already.

Though I guess I could be wrong.

They say they do some sort of Crew thing for GG.
like a 3 person crew. So i dont see why they would not do it for Smash as well... as in teams.
I mean its 2 days in a convention center
It seems bigger then MLG so they might have time.

has any1 tried "registering" on the link from the EVO South page? it has a part where you choose what tournies you want to participate in and then they have prices listed next to them, ranging from 10-20 dollars......though it says all over that EVO South is free....im starting to get confused.

EVOSouth registration

Looks like you can start registering if you want, although it asks for payment when you do. It's supposed to be free though, so I would probably hold off on registering right now...

And even though the rules for Smash have not been put up, the site states "All games are individual, double elimination tournaments with the exception of Guilty Gear XX, Slash, which is a 3on3 Team Tournament." So, I'm guessing there will be no teams this year, which makes sense since they have to see if they can get singles right the first time.

Yeah, the price has been dropped to only $10 instead of $20. The other $20 was for registration, but they fixed it so that you don't have to pay registration. So, it's basically $10 to enter the event which isn't that expensive and pretty reasonable. It's safe to say that everyone should go register! :)

To kick off the 2007 season, registration for this event will be FREE
There is a registration fee of $10.00 USD to enter each tournament... Finally, there's a $0.00 USD cover charge for attending the event.
It doesn't sound like there is an entry fee/cover charge. But the registration prices contradict each other.

Maybe they're getting the registration from the other tournaments mixed up with the south.

There is a difference between an entry fee and a registration fee. It's not a contradiction. It looks like they're still messing around with the registration page, but I'm almost certain it will be a $10 entry fee...

Yeah, they just took down the registration page. I guess they are still messing around with the page. Just be patient.

If anything significant changes, I better get a refund. Or w/e they decide, I registered while the page was still working, so I don't wanna be screwed outta $10. <_<

You think EVO will have pools?

Ok, now for the off topic question that I really posted in here for: JF, when did you buy a premium membership?

Also, cute avatar/headline

holy chicken in a basket

I have to make this. Especially since I can now hold my own in Third Strike. CvS 2, eh, I'm alright, at least I have an excellent team of E Honda, Cammy, Sagat with benchwarmers Blanka and Yamazaki. I probably won't bother signing up for it. Third Strike is a must. Gotta rep Elena.

All this with free entry? Man, the originally planned Dauntebayo was such a rip off. (Granted they didn't have sponsership, but yeah, still).

Wow I have to get that weekend off. I want to go quite badly. The tourny on March 3rd will be good practice, so everyone who goes to that should be prepared. SA players wanna carpool?
Hells yeah. Anyone wanna roll with RnJ? Lemme tell ya, road trips with RnJ are hella fun, so we minus well call them Road no Jutsu!

First of all, you're not very good in 3S. Neither am I, but I know for a fact you and I don't stand a living chance.

Secondly, you didn't even go to this last tournament. So how do you know it was a rip-off?

Thirdly, it was "Dantebayo," not "Dauntebayo." If you're gonna diss something, at least spell it right.

I'm well aware that they are sponsoring 4 fan-run tournaments.
Any clue where one could see the specifics of what they're planning on doing? I tried searching mlgpro, but i couldn't find anything on the subject. And I'm curious.

I doubt I can do THAT well in Third Strike, but I'm confident enough to say that I know how to play the game to almost it's full extent, I may not always kara throw or special move cancel into a super combo, but I do know of them and do them. Besides, it's free anyways so why not try?

I musta confused the smash Daunte with RnJ Dante >.<

And hey, you and I know that 20 dollars for just one tournament is a lot. And even now I keep hearing different numbers about how much that clubhouse rent really was. But that whole thing didn't happen that way (this I can know without going>.>), so it was irrevelant for me to bring it up. Sorrys.
