Well, it doesn't look like it's going to be in Pictochat's favor any time soon.

I've tried it a lot like for 5 hours straight yesterday with a friend. I found this stage not to be as obnoxious as I originally thought it to be. But at the same time, in my honest opinion, it's not really worthy of being allowed in the rule set. There is a very noticeable luck factor which is due to the random order of appearance of each stage model, which may sometimes harm a player's performance significantly. And as I said, it's RANDOM. At least on Frigate you know whenever the stage is about to flip (and where to position yourself when it does), on Halberd you know when the claw or the laser will shoot at you, on Delfino you know you're gonna have runoffs or walls on blablabla specific part. The four most dangerous elements of Pictochat (the rockets, the piranha plant, the spikes, and Gusty Gus aka the guy who blows wind) can really turn the game around when we don't expect them to. And stuff like this is not something I at least, want to see happening in tournies.

For me it's the same type of luck factor you get from items. When items kinda force people to get greedy, run and collect them rather than fight directly, the stage morphs tempts players to use them to get easy damage on their opponents. It's distracting and annoying.

Some of you will disagree with me, but just saying.

Apparently you're too stupid to have an imagination. And there I thought children would have the wildest forms of them.
So... I need to imagine every situation possible to come to the conclusion they're "fair?" No need to start flaming. Btw, you don't know **** about this game. You suck at it and haven't even attended a single tournament.

Who said this? I was making a point that if a stage is voted to be banned, it should be banned, and if it's voted to be allowed, it should be allowed. Noone was talking about what is ACTUALLY happening in this vote.

If you cannot understand this very simple thought process, then you have to be stupid, I can't explain it to myself otherwise.

No need to start flaming.
YOU are saying this? Out of all people, YOU are telling me that there's no need to start flaming? LOL! Seriously, you're like a flamethrower 99% of the time. Without any proper logic or reason you are just riding around on stupid little details that aren't even part of the topic at hand. All the time.

Btw, you don't know **** about this game.
That's also the reason why I'm still in the BBR, right, little kid?

You suck at it and haven't even attended a single tournament.
How would you know? You never even met me, yet alone played me or saw me play, lol.

Seriously, honeypie, you should stop acting like you are always in the right, everyone else is wrong and flame them. It won't do you good.

Sorry man, you're so funny.

"Okay, because you're hypocrite, I can do whatevah I want lolol"

hahahaa

But seriously.

Knowledge of the game isn't needed to be in the SBR, thought you'd know by now.

I have my sources. And Austria doesn't have tournaments... =/

It actually is, Jumpman just flames too much for my liking.
Yeah but you hardly avoid throwing oil when there's a fire either. Jumpman may have overreacted, but you kinda make remarks which are a bit too offensive as well.

We pretty much got out of subject for a whole page, but this poll seems headed for a clear win for ban. Jungle Japes is pretty much a joke of a poll, so I think we should open a new thread, preferably stuff like Port Town Aero Dive or Green Greens.

Since Brawl, the SBR hasn't had intelligent discussion. Also, there are people in the BBR who don't play Brawl.

Port Town Aero Dive and Green Greens plz?

I don't think any of the other stages need any discussion really. You guys still want to do polls for EVERY stage to come?

Whoever said that? I've seen some good articles on Green Greens, and I guess there's nothing wrong with discussing it. Really, the few people who will actually pay attention to the stage discussion will be wise enough to come up with the right choice.

Whether or not people are actually going to use the list is another story.

Yes, conservative lists are limiting, that's the whole point. Oh, and they're also more fair.
Old post but something too put in a signature:p

If it were only the "4 neutrals" allowed at all in a tournament, in what sence would that be fair? Especially with the rule to not be able to counterpick the last stage you won on...

(Diddy for example get atleast 2 VERY good stages for him, ICs get atleast 3(smashville as the bad one) and MK only 2 (but since it´s MK it gets to 4)

I did rather play at port town then pictochat since it´s easier avoidable hazards even though only 2 are very deadly on Pictochat, and the safezones on PT makes it still focused on stagecontrol.
I don´t really know who would be the best character on porttown to play though...

I said we should discuss Green Greens and PTAD, because those are probably the only two stages on the wait list which are worth discussing. All the others are really terrible.

And I will be using the list for all the national tournaments in Portugal.

Firstly, "to put".

We don't know if that rule would exist in that stage list.

Was I talking about FD etc.? No, I was talking about limiting stage lists, not certain stages.

It would make more sense to have 2 seperate lists, one that is more conservative and one that is more liberal with the stages.

The only stages that would be banned in the liberal list would be the ones that allow circle-camping, or have a game-breaking glitch/unreachable spot/way to abuse invincibility frames/"permanent" walls.

So instead of voting on each seperate stage it would make more sense to have the leaders of the communities vote on conservative VS liberal on international tournaments. Nationally it's up to the TO's.

You can circle camp in Skyworld, Hanenbow and New Pork City.

I was thinking more Port Town Aero Dive, Green Greens, Yoshi's Island Melee (I don't remember if there's anything seriously broken with it), maybe Green Hill Zone? Dunno.

edit: Forgot to add "permanent" walls to my ban list criteria for liberal stages.

Yoshi's Island (Melee) was banned because of the walkoff slope as far as I remember.

Not 100% sure, though.

Green Greens has bombs and the stage is easy to camp on. The stage is also way too small (you die too early).

Port Town Aero Dive has cars that kill.

This is for the liberal list. None of the reasons you mentioned are appropriate enough for a ban.

A car that kills you at 40% is not an enough reason? LOL
The stage doesnt have ledges either, its horrible.

And greens greens is just stupid, wall infinites, supreme camp and really early kills. There are a lot more of stupid things there but i have not so much time.

I was just trolling lol, liberal stage lists doesnt exist, they are called "hi im random this is mah stage list lets play there with FINAL SMAAAAAAASHES!!11111"

Distant planet should be counterpick. Seriously.

Because....?
Because you're not using the criteria that is used for selecting liberal stages. At least put some effort into it.

@Greward Distant Planet allows for mini-circle camping, probably not bad enough to be banned from the liberal list, it's a possibility.
