I am not trolling. Xenoblade chronicles was made from the same continent that has communist countries. But what do I expect from "competive" smash players
Lmao thought you were joking around and being ironic but i guess not

I think you might have a point... Elma wears red, and communists wear red too! Guys I think he's not lying!

I'm only skeptical of a Game Awards reveal is because Elma isn't really hype material for a general audience. I don't see Elma being the first DLC character because it might leave a bad taste in people's mouths because it's not an immediate payoff for a lot of people. Last year, Bayonetta 3 and the Breath of the Wild DLC were pretty awesome for a lot of people, and I just don't see Elma getting the "big reaction" that Nintendo may be looking for.
I doubt any DLC character will be shown at VGA. The game either went gold since the direct or hasn't gone gold yet (calling 2 weeks ago). So the DLC will only have been in development for a week or 2. They won't be able to show anything till March at the earliest.

While I don't necessarily disagree with this idea of Elma not being necessarily shown at the Game Awards if she's DLC, if we're going by this logic, the "right" time to reveal her would shrink to an extremely tiny window, like a general Direct for example. Besides, what other DLC character could they even reveal the Game Awards that would get such a big response? Any of those would have to be third party, and I'm not sure how likely those are.
Potential Game Awards reveals aside though, I feel like Elma would have to be one of the DLC characters that has already been decided a while ago, and could therefore be one of the earlier characters to be revealed.

The game already went gold a while ago. As for DLC already being worked on, Piranha Plant is already finished enough to have a trailer. The idea that other DLC characters could already have some works on them done isn't too out there.

Thing is, Mechon!Fiora is something that even Monolith Soft doesn't mind spoiling. She was already in a commercial for the original Xenoblade in Japan, and was put in Project X Zone 2, both of which were things that Monolith decided.
That one thing with Elma meawhile was, to my knowledge, not featured anywhere outside of the game in any kind of promotional material.
And even if you compare these things in regards to when they happen in the story, they just don't quite match up. Mechon!Fiora is revealed about halfway through the story of XBC1, while the reveal about Elma only happens after the final boss of X.
You mean like this?

I still think her XC2 design is the more likely since its fresh
It isn't out of the realm of possibility since Roy's current Smash design was based off of his Awakening DLC...

Although her XC2 design isn't really a big step away from her X design apart from her hair being more distinct now...

That's still no full-on reveal of that form, though. I mean, compare that to this:

I don't remember her design in 2 being so drastically different from how it was in X.
No its not THAT different, only her hair but still.

So each character has their own preset Classic Mode in Ultimate, so here's a question; if our girl makes it, what do you think hers will look like? I'm thinking it would be themed around alien life forms, and I'd probably call it something like "Hostile Indigins." The matchups would be;

Battle 1 - One-on-one against Dark Samus on Brinstar.
Battle 2 - Free-for-all against Fox and Falco on Corneria.
Battle 3 - Free-for-all against Kirby, Meta Knight, and Dedede on Halberd.
Battle 4 - One-on-one against Wolf on Venom.
Battle 5 - One-on-one against Ridley on Frigate Orpheon.
Battle 6 - Horde battle against Olimar and Alph on Garden of Hope.
Boss - Galleom

What about team battles with a cpu ally?

Possible candidates are I’d think: :ultcloud::ultshulk::ultisabelle::ultfalcon::ultrosalina::ultlucina::ultzss: :ultcorrin::ultsnake:and if she somehow becomes DLC, Fiora (cause if Chrom pulled off the whole FS-and-playable thing, why can’t she)

Jesus that commercial sure is intense for only being five seconds long but boy is it an amazing ad.

Btw I don’t think the Spirit changes much guys, if she was an Assist Trophy or stage hazard I’d be worried but I don’t think this changes much, plus the lack of X music is HIGHLY suspicious.

Don't know if this has already been discussed, but I recently checked Google for news concerning a Switch port, and found this:

Gameinformer.com | Monolith Soft Says A Xenoblade Chronicles X Switch Port Would Be Too Expensive

Now I really doubt Elma is among the 5 DLCs, unless Nintendo's planning to promote less recent titles.
XCX surely would need more effort to be ported than Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze or New Super Mario Bros U due to how they implemented the Gamepad, so it isn't really a big news.

It should also be noted that it isn't Nintendo who is talking, but Monolith Soft. And for them working on a port XCX while already developing two other titles (the classic medival RPG and a new Xenoblade as supported by their recent hirings) might be too much. BUT Nintendo has several studios who work manly on ports, and after the success of XC2 I doubt they aren't going to capitalize on it, especially after how much spotlight they gave to Elma even when compared to Shulk and Fiora (and also after seeing that every single Wii U port thwy have done has outsold their original release). So even if Monolith isn't going to work on it doesn't mean a port of XCX isn't going to happen any time soon.

We've been over this several times already. And really, what Takahashi is saying there doesn't really confirm or deny a port of X being in the works, only that it would be costly. Standard PR talk.

Elma would also serve to promote the Xenoblade franchise as a whole considering she's im XC2 as well. If someone finds her really cool amd search "elma xenoblade" then even if they don't have a Wii U XC2 will still show up in the search results

Monolith has four studios. One of them is working on the medieval-Fantasy project. A other one is probably providing help on a major Nintendo title. So it's not impossible that some of them are working on X2 or maybe XC3.
X2 probably, xc3 is confirmed to not be in the works.

i think the best possible chance is for Kos-Mos to be a DLC as a Namco Bandai and Monolith Soft represent

So I moved into my new apartment last night and this morning I was playing some X OST out loud (specifically Uncontrollable) and some guy knocked on my door so I think "**** I must've been playing it too loud" so I open the door ready to apologize and turn it down and this guy just says "that **** slams" and left

hmm... do y'all think Sakurai began work on the DLC back then? If he did then... this might be in boys. Strap in, buckle up. The hype train boutta take us to a different planet, and it's a LOT more then we can manage

just to not get my expectations up, are there any anime she dubs that are starting a new season soon? cause this might be for them

I really don't know when they started the DLC. I'm pretty sure the choices for the DLC have been done a while ago but they probably didn't start to work on them (except Piranha Plant) because their main objective was to release the game.
