Well, at the last ranbat I nearly 3 stocked Aiko's metaknight with my icies.
His meta is pretty good too :3

Y'ever hear of "anti-tiers"?
Well, I'm "semi-anti-tier".
While I think the tier lists are a good idea and make perfect sense to me; I don't think people should abandon all characters except top tiers. This unfortunately the case in some situations which is why the top tiers' metagame has grown alarmingly.
But it gives us middle and low tier players something to work on - who said Fox and Luigi couldn't beat high tiers?
It's little more than a matter of practice and technique development, beating high tier characters with those below them.

Trying to play Yen's Meta with IC was impossible. He was contsantly floating above the ground with Dair's, it was a very frustrating mach.
Ah well I suck with the climbers, but i scored my first good grab combo earlier without trying much. After this fest, i'll be picking them up methinks

If a meta is Dair camping you, desynch blizzard wall him, mixing up with some Uairs, you WILL hit him occasionally.
Once you get the percentage lead, just camp him and pressure him into approaching you. Hopefully you do this well enough to score a grab or two, then take their stock :3
Also, don't be put off by the effort involved with the icies, they're the m ost fun character in this game if you ask me.

I won't let myself get put off.
However, I might play Pikachu (or one of my other more advanced characters) at this fest as I doubt my Icies will be worthy of competitive Smash after just 5 days of training.

I feel like a bit of a noob, seeing as I probably couldn't provide much indepth help on match-ups like you >.<.

Hehe I've only recently become fully comfortable with the icies, and I started training them... a month ago? Something like that. Tourney play helps INFINITELY more than CPU matches and such. Just CG people to death in training and apply it in friendlies and tournies, that's about it.
Also lawl Brado, I'm just too keen. A lot of fighting games is about pressure and stress really, 90% of my skillz come from ye olde street fighter games :3
I hope I do trip up though, I seem to improve more when I lose to people than if I win.

Wow only a month, and you sound really good. I played for about 5 minutes in training mode earlier and I was timing the back throws very well and i was surprised how simple it was.
Ahh well i get all stressed in tourney matches, so expect me too slip up often. All it takes is one bad move for Olimar and he can be gimped >.>

Looooool yens MK is gay vs Icies, and he knows it, he won Calz Icies in a MM, Dsmash an Dair the whole match looooooooooool, well i MM his icies too, with Marth and just did Fair, Calz wasnt happy about losing these i tell ya, but he got his revenge with his Snake lol.

I'm really interested to see him play other characters, considering how good he is at Snake, all his characters must be at a high level. We need vids of your next mini-fest, where he actually plays someone other than Snakeee >.>

Yen is very smart if he is doing that. You arn't going to beat Ice Climbers just standing still and doing nothing.

If you do anything APART from that against a half decent icies, you're going to be demolished :3
Also marth mains tend to be better in general than other character mains, cause marth needs amazing spacing to play well :D

Reading is helpful sometimes.. but honestly a lot of the info on these boards is ancient :<
There are a few notable exceptions, Snake/ZSS/Bowser boards to name a few.
Otherwise I prefer just getting the experience myself :D
