My family is extremely busy with some issues I don't want to go into so they don't really have the time to discuss dates right now. I should have a definite date next week. All I'm gonna say is I'm aiming for Mid-June. Please be patient.

ah if its mid june (im guessing the 13th or 20th) then i shant be able to make it, the 6th or 27th are ok though

I don't mean this to sound like i'm saying don't host it on those dates, more in the region of informing you which ones i will be absent for.

I was aiming for the dates you can't make it on, ****.
Sorry. >_>

6th seems a bit early and a few people can't make it then, and the 27th I'll most likely be on holiday.

ah it's cool

infact, the 13th i may be able to make it, im going to a gig on the night, it'll take me a while to get there (going to redditch then southampton), i'm not sure of the times yet though, think i may be getting to redditch for 7 so if i do come (if it's on the 13th) ill have to leave early, maybe 5ish or earlier. we finish the melee/brawl tourneys by 4 don't we?

No one would enter Brawl if it was £5 Cal considering most of the people that come prefer Melee lol.

I would enter for anything up to £15.

Ok, me and Ixis are thinking of hosting something and if that goes well maybe getting a regular thing going. Reason being that neither of us get enough experience playing other people and we have the oppertunity to do it so why not? I'm just trying to guage whether people would come so let me know if you would be interested and we might try and make it happen. We would probably be hosting at a venue around South East London or Cambridgeshire, would people be willing to travel to either?
If we do decide to go for it, it wouldn't be for a few months probably but hopefully we could make it a regular thing if all goes well.

I guess I would come. It's not that far from Leicestershire.

Okay, I might do £5 for Brawl and £5 for Melee. If I decide not too It will be £3 each.

And everyone will have to pay for the games they want to play when they come through the door. Don't want to walk around trying to get money off people. =]

You shouldn't try to coerce people into putting more money for your own personal gain.

Firstly, money has nothing to do with the standard of play or tournements.
Secondly, this is regional, if you compare the UK to 1 state, then a national tournement could warrent a £10 entry, this however is a fraction of that, £5 should be the absolute maximum expluding venue. You have yet to go to a national UK tournement, where the entry is higher.

Some ranbats in the UK don't even have entry fees, cause ranbats aren't full tournements. Its only there to make the finals interesting.

Also, I agree with Mako.

Ranbats aren't about money, from what I'm aware ranbats only started to have entry fees when aiko started the brawl NW scene, excluding venue. Other players shouldn't be greatful the cost is so low, people like you should be greatful that you have a chance of getting money back to begin with. If you want huge payoffs, host/attend a national/international tournement.

the ultimate point is, its not about the money. The only reason I actually ask for a little tourney money is to keep it interesting and motivates people to play their best. Theres no point in playing if someone is gonna sandbag all tourney.

The money involved is a bit like gambling. You pay what you can afford to lose and still enjoy it. If you spend more than you can afford to lose, then its no fun.

At the end of it all, its a tournament organisers decision to set the price. If you want a higher price, organise a ranbat with £15 entry and see how many people turn up.

How i spend my money is my choice, and it doesn't matter if theres been no national events, we dont go to ranbats to fund your social life, we go to play smash.

so why u geting involved aiko if its up to tourny organiser this is east midlands and i was asking willz not u dont get involved cos blinky asked u to i know why u host ur tournys now i was asking willz yea? hardly funding my social life and if i do win surely thats because iv put alot of practice into it? u cant just say we wont pay cos u will win thats bul**** which is a reason i sandbagged aiko cos every1 expects me to win all time and im geting sick of it the more money involved the less i do sandbag w/e i dont wana argue but just dont reply to my posts to willz? considering i dont think u two even go to lecster this time u may i dono i wil have to see i dont see why if i asked willz to raise price it wud be ur problem :S

Stop the argueing guys please.

I'll decide wether to do £5 for Brawl or both games. Thing is Cal if I charged £5 for both games, people would just enter the game they prefer. Even though theres nothing wrong with that, I could imagine less participants for both games for example, the amount of Brawl players and Melee players was equal at my last fest (7 for Brawl, 7 for Melee) so if I charged £5 for both games I could see some people entering only one game and making it not very competitive at all. Also if I did £5 JUST for Brawl I'm sure some people wouldn't bother entering. If I did £3 for both I'm sure most people will enter both games so they can have an awesome and fun time.

I'LL THINK WHAT'S BEST FOR MY FEST, AND THE FACT THAT I GIVE YOU GUYS FREE FOOD AND DRINKS (PIZZA & COKE!!!!) YOU MUST COME!

Really, Aiko? Hm? Sandbagging is annoying? Is it? Huh?

To be honest, I'd enter Brawl for £5 even if I knew I'd lose (which I would). It's just part of the event. But that's also kinda because I'd expect other people to be entering Melee. I'd feel guilty if I beat 90% of people at Melee and then just walked away - playing Brawl lets people get revenge.

Only 1 person didn't lol. And I can imagine more than 1 person not playing if the entry fee is increased to £5.

Almas what's your msn I want to ask you some questions about Brawl+. =]

I should do a big national tournament at my house. I would buy 100 cans of coke and 100 slices of pizza. Would be awesome!

It was just me willz and some other decent guy, but he did have quite a lot of bad habits.

No melee but I expressed my disgust to willz.
