it was in chino hills, which is 3 mi from pomona.

according to wiki earthquakes of 5.6+ occur once every 100 years.

Felt it down here in Rosemead which is like a 30-45 minute (?) drive from Pomona. It woke me from my sleep

We just checked that it registered as a 3.0 here in San Diego, so I can only imagine how scary the 5.7 in Chino Hills must have felt.

On the cell phone topic: cell phones probably won't be working for a while because EVERYONE is calling each other trying to find out if they're alright, what they're doing, yadda yadda yadda. So the cell phone carriers are going to swamped with SoCal calls and unable to deal with them all.
