Early Smash 5 Fan-Made Rosters (Ideal or Prediction)

I'm more talking about their current status, but very good point. I'm referring to their additions to his roster, not to Brawl/Smash 4/future Smash games, Yarn Kirby is the only one without any real personality at all. Where the others are pretty established as characters and recognizable(for better or worse).

Dr. Mario was a two-off character. Pichu was a one-off character not counting Pokemon Stadium 2. Heck, Shulk was a one-off character. And if you think about it, Yoshi's Woolly World is a sequel in that it was inspired by Kirby's Epic Yarn.

But, that's irrelevant because Epic Yarn is a popular game. And how many times do I have to explain to you that this roster is specifically designed to represent not as prominent games that are less likely to appear in real Smash games. I'm blocking you. You clearly do not listen to other people when they speak. As has been demonstrated 3+ times with the exact same example.

Did you even read the post that directly replied to you? That's why I said it made sense you chose Yarn Kirby(even if I disagree with the choice). The logic made sense. Not only did I acknowledge your point(pretty quickly actually, took me two posts, and I apologized for the error too), I understood your logic. Again, it's not logic I think is the best, but I respect it. I did misunderstand at first. You're missing the clear point I'm making with Yarn Kirby. He hasn't separated himself from Kirby enough like many others to be their own unique character. I'm not talking about moveset here, which I already acknowledged Yarn Kirby wins in that regard. But he's not exactly a lesser known character either. Just not as big as regular Kirby, respectively. That's part of why I originally suggested Waddle Dee, since I missed what you meant overall. I stopped suggesting it as soon as I figured out what error I was making. It happens. Roster discussion often has a lot of natural biases anyway, so errors are normal(this isn't a jab at anyone, it's just a normal thing).

It doesn't ****ing matter what icon you want to put next to Waluigi. It literally amounts to nothing. How the character works is whats important. Even if you gave him like the Metroid icon. It'd be wrong, but it still doesn't matter.

The Concept of this game is to focus less on recent character and more on lesser Nintendo Icons that are less likely to appear in Super Smash Bros. (AND THIRD-PARTY CHARACTERS)

The game is a throwback to the original Super Smash Bros on Nintendo 64. It features similar music, a traditional classic mode (with multiple paths) a throwback to the original menus, bonus games (including new ones), and possibly a Melee-Styled Adventure Mode.

Anybody can be added in the future, but there would realistically be less characters at first because indie flash games aren't made by game companies. Who do you want added? Any Third Parties, specifically? Any lesser known Nintendo icons? Lip? Takamaru? Lyn would make sense. How about King Boo? That'd be cool.

I've championed the idea of another Sonic character in the past but I'd have to say five is a bit much, especially when, apart from FF, the other third-party series are all stuck at one. A little silly that it's tied with Zelda and Pokemon.

The point is to adhere to the standards of an actual Smash games, but to take a different route. Instead of games like Wii Fit & Xenoblade, it's going for the games that will most likely never end up in a smash game, but still have good merits (Golden Sun, Starfy, Chibi-Robo)

Of course you may disagree that these characters have chances, but you have to admit those chances are rather low. They'll never take priority over the more popular IPs.

There are also other alternate routes I took. Instead of Dr. Mario, Dark Pit, and Lucina I chose Paper Mario & Yarn Kirby. I don't think those choices are better, but I chose to pick them so that they'd actually have a chance. Whereas the previous three I mentioned have appeared before and will likely appear again.

But, I still keep the essentials. Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Kirby, etc. And Sonic characters are in there because people really want them.

I have just a list of general characters I want to see

• Pokemon Trainer 2 (Selina) - It would have been cool to have Pokemon Trainer as a veteran and each installment introduce a Pokemon Trainer Newcomer. Preferably Selina with Chespin, Braixen, and Greninja
• Pauline - Being one of the first Nintendo Characters, the original damsel in distress, and an iconic arcade classic character, I feel Pauline is more deserving than one would originally think. I like the idea of seeing Nintendo's forgotten damsel beat the crap out of other Nintendo characters.
• Louie/Brittany (White, Purple, & Rock Pikmin) - I was disappointed Sakurai couldn't manage to make a second Pikmin character. Obviously Alph's physique is identical to Olimar, which doesn't allow for a sufficient difference between him and Olimar, even if they did have different Pikmin.
  
  I always thought Louie would make more sense. Not only is he Olimar's cadet, but he has both a larger physique and a lethargic personality. It would be much nicer if Olimar stuck to original Red, Yellow, and Blue Pikmin (I find plucking the Purple Pikmin, which can't latch to enemies, to be rather annoying). While Louie could use the special Pikmin that appeared in Pikmin 2. Olimar has the S.S. Dolphin, and Louie has the Hocatate Ship
  
  It all works out well imo. The Captain has original Pikmin, and the cadet has the special Pikmin. This applies to Alph & Brittany who would appear as costumes for Olimar & Louie, creating more characters, more differences, a better representation of Pikmin types and the ability to choose what type of Pikmin you want, and a character with a more unique personality.
• Waluigi - I don't think it can work out. He's not a big enough character and he has no place. I only want to see what it would be like if he took a place as a Wario inspired character. I want to see Sakurai create unique move sets from scratch for Waluigi based on his physique and zany personality and create the possibility for Waluigi to have minor roles in Wario games. Makes me sad that people just want Waluigi to have a bunch of stuff from Mario Party, Kart, Sports, etc. He has so much potential that doesn't have to be filled by such a lack of creativity. I want to see things that are unique to Waluigi alone, and not just stuff from the games he is in.

I don't but there's a legit possibility that this port could literally be Smash Wii U with only the DLC added in as a complete version of sorts.

Either way it's not something I would get my hopes up over. To each their own.

It's Nintendo, they don't always feel such a need to give you reason to buy something again. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe exists, and it's uh, minimal additions at best. They have 5 or so new characters, and fleshed out the battle mode, and that's it. They totally could just add one new character to Smash U/3DS and call it a day if they wanted to lol. I'm expecting more than that, but it's definitely a major possibility, and it's not out of character for them to do so either.

You mean the ones that aren't Nintendo? A company with a reputation for not just releasing the same game twice unless it's at the same time? Nintendo put a lot of love into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. If you think they are just going to re-release Super Smash Bros. as is, then I think you are underestimating their credibility.

Usually when a game doesn't sell well, Nintendo doesn't just sell the exact same game again. Unless it justifies its existence like with new content or the ability to be played on a handheld.

Don't like it either but it's a real possibility.

Also consider the fact that Smash was the only rumored game on the Switch that had little to nothing leaked about it. Coulda sworn that LKD said that the new Smash port wouldn't have that much added as well.

I doubt a pure port myself, but while the evidence does suggest it's unlikely(Sakurai actually dislikes pure ports, Nintendo has shown so far to prefer updates, and Namco-Bandai can go either way), saying it's impossible is a little silly.

And dismissing an argument is even sillier. We'll see what happens. Remember, all we got to go on is that a Smash for Switch is being developed and it's credited to Namco-Bandai. That's all we have.

Pretty much a pure desire roster. Absolutely 0 realism to be had here. Paper Mario,Captain Toad, and Dixie Kong are the only ones I think stand a shadow of a chance.

As for a more realistic one. . .

DK newcomer could be either K rool or Dixie. Ballot makes me iffy to pick one or the other

With the exception of Inklings most of it is just feelings one way or another. Inklings on the other hand I am sure of. No 3rd party characters because I can't pick one that really stands out.

If you ask me to explain any of my choices in the dream roster I will have a decent anwer. The "reasonable one" . . .not so much

Yes but I would imagine none of those things are as time consuming as making new characters or even new stages in Smash Bros. The amount of work for Smash far exceeds what you stated. And my post had more to do with characters more so than anything else.

And DLC is very much apart of the old game. It's content made available for that intended console so just having it bundled with the new release does not make it "new".

I'm not basing it off nothing dude. There's been plenty of people that have leaked a lot of things in the past that have came out and stated that this port is going to have very minimal additions. Whether or not that entails having new characters remains to be seen. Of course this won't mean anything to you if you're in the anti-leaker mindset that other people have.

If Krystal were to have a staff it should be a redesigned cybernetic staff. As if it were Star Fox equipment. Maybe in the trophy description it is revealed that Slippy made it. It's important to stress that she is a Star Fox representative and not a Dinosaur Planet representative.

Ahh well I would guess that they would have some Smash 3DS stages in this port as a selling port of sorts. Maybe even a new Adventure mode similar to Melee.

They could always have new content not in the form of new characters. HD Smash Run would be a huge selling point for me if I had a Switch.

Being that Switch is also portable, I've argued that it makes sense to combine the two smash games into one. Don't just make it the game with the DLC, make it the complete experience.
