early damage

Does anyone have any advice on ways to get early damage with falcon? The main person I play against mains marth and he just dodges around smash attacks and slashes away my grabs.

d-throw to u-throw to combos (nair, uair and so on) works OK. I'm not an expert on the Captain, though. Just DD/Mindgame to grab 8D

dd and grab like kaizer said, well timed + well spaced stomps/nairs work too. I wouldn't go for the spot dodge with cf i dont trust the lag >.>

Just run towards the nub Marth, WD away when he FSmashes at you, and hit him with a knee. Works for me every time. Against a good Marth, you obviously need to use Mindgames with your DD and WD. And don't use Smashes, CF has lousy smashes with high lag, Wavegrabs work like a charm on Marth, and Nairs/Stomps are pretty good against Marth. Avoid using Uair when you're off the stage bcuz Marth has his Dair Spike.

sounds like you're playing the aggressor. I'd push him to the edge and shield grab. Simply put, your opponent can do something against anything you have if he knows it's coming. work on making your approach less obvious. try to draw him out

okay... marth's weakness is his lag. if you can bait anything you can punish it. marth's invincibility frames on his dodges arent that good. the lag after every move is high. just DD and force his attack then run in and grab/knee/nair. if he jumps, run at him and shield. you can then shield grab him, as marth's only anti-shield grab is his spacing.

if you shield marth's fsmash you can wd into grab. actually, you can pretty much do anything, it has a ton of lag. but yes, shield and grab marth. vs marth is the only match with any character i suggest shield grabbing these days.

I like standing still at the beignning of the match. It fakes my friends out sometimes, And when they get close enough, I do a JC grab.


Oh, and I have about 11 friends who play smash. Of which, 6 play Marth. So maybe it's just a Marth strategy lol

i like to mindgame the raptor boost at an early % to either uair/ or upsmash just depends... then I continue to combo, and usually cap it off with a knee.

Is there any way to effectively utilize the Raptor Boost as an edgeguard or are you just going to miss and die horribly? I know it's inferior to a lot of things for CF's edgeguard but I was just wondering.

forward throw? Unless they're mid or high damage and don't tech I don't think you can combine it with an up air? You can always use down air or if its like fox or falco just back air. Marth = light shield = win

uair when they DI too far for you to knee. uair has the most priority and range of falcon's aerials.
