Here's my handdrawn entry for Roy. Roy's your typical 'cool' character, even though he uses flames. So to up his cool rating and not make him a sissy-boy, I made his sword bigger, his armor tougher (the careful eye will notice the cracks) and gave it all black-tone shading to top it off.

It's actually a lot bigger: but due to Madworld's need to be played, I don't have the time to properly resize it. Maybe Madworld secretly inspired the black and white theme...?

I'm joining the hand-drawn fray, too! Hruaaagh!!

It's very blurry, I know. This was the best shot I could get, though... Woo, crap cameras! It's 100% Sharpie marker (well, the black and red is sharpie. The yellow is a crayola marker. 66% Sharpie! All right!)

I resized it with OpenCanvas to about 50% of its original size... But it's still pretty big. If anyone wants me to shrink it more just say the word.

Also, if this doesn't meet "clearness standards" or something like that, I'll try again. But man, this camera is just not for taking pictures of 2D images. No, sir!

Aw darn. I was not able to finish this entry in time. I didn't really have time this week and tried to pump the whole thing out this evening, but I still like how it came out. I went for a more painted, thinly brushed look (which sadly looks a bit blurry when viewing smaller versions of the picture, click the image for hueg version), and just tried to capture a really intense, flaming sword swipe from Roy. Tried to draw the picture with a certain amount of perspective in mind as well, and while it isn't perfect, I think it gets the job done (heck, I drew/colored this entire thing in a couple hours).

Well here it is anyways, digital of course (not that it probably matters much):



Any extensions possible?

On that note though, I really think we should accept submissions Monday-Sunday, and vote Monday-Friday (during the next competition's submissions). This way people actually have the weekend to draw (when people have time to do things).

I didn't get one minute of leniency last week, so there's no way you're getting an hour extension~

Thanks! I used pencils first, then inks and marker for the bigger black parts.

^^^ I think I agree with this.

Either way, need to fix this system as we're always leaving out awesome submissions. At times the "best" pieces don't win simply a few hours after the fact.
