Hello everyone. I'm planning to interview Dr. PP at the upcoming European Melee tournament in Norway, Smashers Reunion.

I would like you to suggest questions for the interview, literally anything between his experience in Europe to technical, detailed Melee related stuff. :)

Go!

Ps. I might interview other people too (e.g. Leffen) so also give me suggestions about that!

couldnt he just answer them now? on the boards?
Sure. For example, you could ask about his experience in Europe before he flies here.
You could also ask him how he felt to play against Armada in the bracket.

This is just a channel for the people to get their voice heard. I'm also looking for ideas because I want to make a good, interesting interview. That is why I need your input.

@Doh

Obviously I'm going to make most questions myself and eventually decide what ends up in the interview. Questions like "Why does he suck at teaching?" are good examples of stupid questions that won't end up in the interview.

I know you are joking, obviously, but I'm looking for useful input, not trolling. Thank you

What match-ups are you planning to use Marth in, or is he for when you're more comfortable using him instead (such as vs M2K on Final Destination)?

How much of your strategy do you have to change and adjust when you're in Europe? Which characters change the most when in Europe?

after playing in a PAL international tournament, do you feel that there is a substantial difference between the two versions, and do you prefer one over the other?

Do you really feel that there is a difference between Falco in PAL and in NTSC. I'm not talking about the minor changes in percent and behaviors, I mean the actual FEEL of him when you're playing with him.

If not; does KNOWING that he is different, even though he feels basically the same, affect your mindset? For example, falco FEELS basically exactly the same in PAL just playing with him, so you play as you normally would, but you're doing worse for some reason - can you adjust?

Why are all Falco players frauds?
Once again, we're doing a mm your falco vs my DK next tourney we're both at lol

" detailed Melee related stuff" this was what i meant, not the europe stuff, but on a side not i would like to know what it is like to travel to a country just for melee :) PP must feel like a boss

I'd personally like to know about the set against javi. What things would you differently if you had to play him again? What was your mindset going into the set? How about afterwards? Did your set against him make you think about the matchup (fox v falco) in a different way? Does fox win the matchup? What do you think of javi as a player ( cause some imply it was a fluke) Etc.... I want to know EVERYTHING relevant to that particular set.

I only ask because it was one of my fav sets to watch of all time and it very well could have been the biggest upset of the year

Edit: good luck peepee...I'd be disappointed with anything less than a first place finish lol beat armada!

Ask him if he knew beforehand that he was gonna 4-stock armada six times in a row, or if he had doubts.

Is the interview after the tournament? In that case, how do you feel about your sets against Ice, Amsah, and Armada (assuming he plays any/all of them).

agreed. pp vs ice would be awesome.

also, a post interview question: which player did you play against (either in friendlies or in tourney) did you find to be most challenging besides armada? Who was the second best player at the tourney next to armada (or peepee).

I would like to ask Dr Peepee:

Do you feel as if you are the best player in the world? And how much of your success do you think should be attributed to your talent as a player, instead of falco being an overpowered character?

PP vs ice is interesting but not that interesting.

I mean, if he can beat m2k he can take dumps on ice, pretty clearly. It'll be a 3-0

The real question is, can armada take games off of him? I'm thinking no.

I'm sure you would've thought the same about Mango vs. M2k/TAJ before Genesis 2

Taj was a surprise at G2, and surprises are possible (FTR, I did not think that Mango would roll m2k. No one rolls m2k consistently), but they're just that-surprises. Mango could have lost to a bunch of other people in surprise upsets, but he didn't, because surprises are unlikely. So yes, Ice could give PP super tight matches, but that would be a surprise, and it's not likely to happen.

How is dat PAL dair?

Apex's Sweden crew gave a breakdown of which foods/drinks tasted better or worse. Which differences could you taste? Did it taste as good as your victory over Armada?

Too bad the "what do you think of Europe" question happens before I show Stockholm to him after the tournament. Hopefully Tonberry can show him a little of Norway so it's not only airport experiences and smash.
I'll drive him through the woods of Sweden to get him there, but it's just that, woods, not much to say about.

Did you watch Ice vs. Mango at Apex? Ice easily is one of the players with the most potential out there. In his match against Mango there were glimpses of brilliance in my opinion, brilliance that could really shine if Ice cuts some bad habits and plays with confidence.

Not to mention his Marth plays the Falco matchup superbly.

What keeps you motivated to keep getting better and better, and how do you regain your composure after getting frustrated during a set?

PP is going to fly to Norway early so he's definitely going to have time for sightseeing =)
Perhaps they have time to visit Oslo. Also, Sweden is a beautiful country.

Thank you for questions! Really interesting ideas & useful input, I'll use your questions to form the final ones that end up in the interview. And keep them coming =)

I know, and no, he's flying to Stockholm and I'll drive him directly from the airport to Oslo. After the tournament I'll drive him back to Stockholm where he'll stay for one full day during which I hope I'll have time to show him the city.
