Someone ****ing help me in this match up.
I keep getting beat by Roman's Dr. Mario (I don't care if you don't know him).

I have NO clue how to play this matchup.
Anyone with advice please tell me.

I don't know how he plays but when I have to play docs I rely mostly on lasers. And I like to spam Fsmash... I know it sounds REALLY stupid, but he has no range and the lasers usually make them angry enough to approach aggressively now and again.

Again it works for me, but I've never played a great doc. I usually end up spamming lasers then do a short combo into Bair then just go for a spike or Fsmash.

I always just play Docs really stupid and simple. Again, don't get mad if this sounds stupid. This is just how I usually beat the OK docs I play sometimes.

You have more range, more efficient combos, a better platform game, a better more versatile projectile. Watch out for Bair's and chaingrabs, try to stay on the middle of the stage. Your Jab game > Doc's and he needs that a lot so keep that in mind. Both Doc and you have the worst recoveries in the game, so try not to let him bair you or throw you off and simply just edgehog him... Doc doesn't really have alot of options.

Eggm apparently plays against Mario's by just SHLing right in their face. As long as your fast, they really can't do ****. Can't shield grab, jab, dsmash or ftilt in time so it forces him to roll, leaving him vulnerable. Oh, and your spike will beat out his Up B, so try to trade a lot.

don't get frustrated when all of your lasers are being thrown back at you, remember if you're not approaching with lasers you are taking out basically the best part of your metagame

also stop rolling into my dsmash consecutively and trading hits, that gives me too much breathing room to take advantage of.

I looked, but strange that I didn't see Dr. Mario in there.

I know that I shouldn't let the reflected lasers get to me. I still deal more damage than I receive. For some reason I rolled into a lot of smashes, not just yours, in this past weekend. Very stupid of me and it wont happen again.

The best advice I can give is ban FD, counterpick Battlefield and dodge pills till you can sneak a laser in then keep that pressure on. Once you hit him once do a FAT combo and ****. If hes recovering from up high don't attempt to edge guard him unless you can do frame perfect firestalls in the lava on Brinstar otherwise the pills that come down will gimp you combined with his up + b stage spike. If you can do really good firestalls like me just simply stall until hes forced onto the stage with his up + b and stand on then walk past and down smash or if he aims for sweet spot just roll. Uh, I just shoot lasers then pillar his shield till a hsine hits then **** sauce combo him. I don't really know how to give advice for this matchup as I've beaten every doc i've ever played the majority of the time. That list includes, Bob$, Smashmac, Boss, ZM, DJ Nintendo, blah blah blah.

way to not mention Velocity, jerk. lol.

I always just play really campy and space attacks at Doc until I get a good combo opening. Doc's range blows and if you can just use ftilt and bair to keep him off your nuts, you can use your speed and better projectile to manufacture some openings to **** him.

Also, you vs. your friend doesn't prove anything about the matchup. It's not terrible for doc, but he's definitely not in good shape vs. a good Falco.

FoD > Battlefield, just because Falco's combo power is at it's best there. If you are more comfortable on BF than that's where you should go, but I'd probably ban that against you if I ever fought you in tourney lol. Typically though, you want to ban FoD against Falco.

alright. in addition to spamming moves: DON'T MISS L-CANCELS!! the match-up becomes un-winnable almost with that alone, or it should be really close games. Then you just have to pick which moves to use, and when:

laser
shine (lots)
drill
up-tilt
bair
F/D tilt, but not really needed.

Also, edgeguarding doc is really easy. Just take the ledge, and do a move/hog him.

P.S: if you get grabbed, you are doing the match up wrong, and it is your falt!!

i ****ign hate doc...i spam laser, nair, dair, bair...shine only to shinedair ftw because it sends them so high....what i really like to do tho is uair...it seems sort of..weird i know but i shine uair also and it works wonders...just a pointer..dont try to sidedodge the dash attack or epic fail

Just use moves that are safe from avoiding Doc. Laser is always a good thing to pressure them. Usually Nair to shine better then Drill shine in my opinion.

Play patient and space yourself, especially with Ftilt. Dont let the doc get close in.

Edgeguarding wise? Dsmash > UpB but just have good precision when u do it.

Also chaingrabbing is another issue but just DI 10% to the right while DIing up and can possibly shine out of it or the doc runs ahead of u to chain grab which he will then miss.

Recovery wise? usually its safe to try to Recover above doc if possible. But if not then hope the Doc messes up or ur good at teching the cape.

Avoid FD and pick stages with platforms.

well there's alot of options from a grab, and you're probably ****ed unless the doc messes up.
