does her "sexiness" annoy you?

hey, i'm not denying she's hot (i do find her hot *sigh*, unfortunately.... ), it just bothers me. why does it bother me?

1. well there's the whole people going "ur a perv 4 playing ZSS!!", which has only happened once, so yay.
2. then there's the whole annoying kids going "dam she sexy lemme pause and lookit her *body part*"
3. it's pretty sucky representation of the character, samus, whose body is much more "realistic" in the games (or mp3c, at least)

I never think about her appearance when I'm actually playing because I'm pretty wrapped up in the game, though I do like the way she moves - it's very acrobatic, which looks cool imo.

I do notice her looks more at the victory screen, but it's because after she does her dance or w/e I'm always thinking "oh no I hope everyone here doesn't think I play this character for the way she looks..... " :embarrass

Porn is usually displayed through pixels, not to mention porn is occasionally edited. So are women in modeling magazines. Go go airbrush!

Point is, if people can find porn hot, and can find edited pictures of women hot, then why not a video game character who looks hot? Although, Zamus's 'melons' are pretty average. They're not ginormous or anything. But fictional characters can, in fact, be hot. Does it matter if they are fictional? They could even be real for all we know. Like an alternate universe where fiction is brought to life. Like, a parallel world, you know?

I mean, there's no proof that there ISN'T a parallel world where hot fictional women are brought to life.

...That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Besides, she's graceful. I wouldn't want a fat women try to be graceful as she is. It'd just be... ugh. Her body is pretty average among older teenage girls anyways.

The problem isn't that "omg she's secksy im distracted lol". It's that Samus' character had actually been a great step forward for attitudes towards women in the video game scene. We had a strong, independent woman protagonist in a mature line of games, and the fact that she was a woman was irrelevant. She did not have to be glamorous, nor "catered" to a target audience of immature males. She was just the hero, who happened to be a woman.

Now Sakurai's team releases their ZSS, a real slap in the face to the progress Metroid was making. They even include crude comments from Snake about Zamus' body. This immature treatment of women means the game excludes a userbase; many people, especially women, are turned off of games because of this type of stuff. Seriously, many of us have stories of being looked down on when a non-gamer sees us playing a game with ZSS. It genuinely detracts from the game.

Dude she's hot so what? Anyone who's complaining on this thread about her being hot is either gay or a woman (not saying I have anything against either of them).

The last tournament I went to, there were 80+ guys competing, and zero girls. That's indicative of a problem, that girls are uncomfortable in our videogame communities. Props to those with the balls (*ahem...*) to do something about it.

The Twilight series (it's a book) has a male character who is apparently the "perfect" guy. A lot of young girls are more than obsessed with him, despite the fact that he's a vampire (LOL).

I mean if a book that only describes a person in WORDS can get this much acclaim and have little girls wishing he was real before they go to bed every night, then something VISIBLE should be able to do the same thing if not more.

i'm actually very saddened by that... i mean, i kinda was hoping for a thread lock or deletion or something after i posted it, because it's really very irrelevant and is now basically just a couple metroid fans upset about her exaggerated representation and a bunch of people wondering what the problem is.
