You're probably gonna have to ask the mods perhaps. I don't know what explanations you saw, but I do remember that Fatmanonice has been suspended alot or warned alot before he got banned, and the amount he got was around the same or even more than what other banned members got.

Fatman was always on Thin Ice with some of his posts. After he Geno Costume thing, and after seeing he won't let up with some of his postings, they decided to pull the plug on Fatman, as well as shut down Geno boards shortly after, because the mods most have known how important he was to the Support thread. But ask the mods directly because they also said not to bring up the whole drama and such
So, from what i understand, he was basically poisoning Geno's fans hearts with false leaks and informations he could never prove, am i right?

Nope because it would imply that said character was swapped with Sephiroth in development.
I can see the logic behind thinking that they wouldn't be revealed at the Tales Livestream because of this but a Tales character isn't disconfirmed because the livestream was delayed. The livestream and reveal don't have to occur at the same time.

Yes, but visually, it's χ-Blade <- Kingdom Key -> Other Keyblades, so it's still weird.
Visually you can have those arrows go both ways. Think in universe of modelling a keyblade off the keys forming the x-blade.

Anyway, speaking of keyblades, I'm going to start making a conspiracy theory relating to the 7-11 Smash ads and the 7-11 keyblade.

But still, it is a strike against them. It would make it likely that they intended to reveal the Tales character at TGA and have their showcase during the Livestream, but they decided to swap said character with Sephiroth because of the Livestream getting delayed.

Not really. Steve is the first and only character to be revealed with a 3rd party livestream in mind for the Sakurai Presents. It's already unlikely that they'd do it twice, let alone delay a character to do so.

If they are revealed near the livestream time then it would mean that the delay made the stars align for it, and if they aren't then they weren't planning to do it in the first place. There's no real reason to think that they are less likely due to the event's delay.

Lloyd and Yuri are a part of the Tales series. The developers of those games are holding a livestream sometime soon, and some speculate that they could reveal either Lloyd or Yuri around that time like they did with Steve and Minecon. However, since this livestream was meant to happen before The Game Awards, Riley believes that doing so would imply that they were swapped with Sephiroth at the last minute in order to do this, and has further expanded this claim such as that a Tales character coming next, or perhaps even at all would imply this.

I don't believe this to be the case for reasons stated earlier.

Playing Tales of Vesperia and I fell in love with Yuri after

that one scene where he murders Ragou and drops his body off a bridge like lmao the way they animated it was so funny I just burst out laughing even though it was a serious moment.

I already liked him before that but I’d be lying if I said he wasn’t one of my favorite JRPG protagonists now.

Anyway, what were we talking about?
Anyway, what were we talking about?
Goku Tales, it seems. I'm worried people might be getting a bit tired of going over their chances over and over, so I'll suggest some moveset ideas instead. Copypasted from RTC, here's my ideas for Lloyd:

In Tales of Symphonia, you can unlock new techniques by using two different moves a lot. The moves gained from this are essentially the two moves combined. You way have heard this idea before; Lloyd chaining his specials in rapid succession. Notably, some moves always start the combo moves and some always finish them. I think it would be more natural and easy to remember if he instead cancelled his specials into tilts and smashes, kinda like a reverse Terry.

Aside from that, Symphonia has two branches for it's techniques; Technical, which generally deals more hits, and Strike, which hits harder. This could be replicated by pressing the button multiple times for the Technical branch and holding the button down for the Strike branch. This could help add some depth to Lloyd's specials.

Here's a list of Lloyd's techniques and their variants:
  • Demon Fang - A wave of energy across the ground. Similar to Terry's Power Wave, actually. Probably a neutral special
    • Double Demon Fang/Demonic Chaos - The Technical branch, fires off a second wave, then a third.
    • Fierce Demon Fang/Demonic Circle - The Strike branch, a stronger, shorter-range wave.
      • Demonic Thrust - Demon Fang chained into Sonic Thrust
      • Demonic Tiger Blade - Demon Fang chained into Tiger Blade
  • Sonic Thrust - A thrust, probably either a forward smash or side special.
    • Hurricane Thrust - The Technical branch, adds a burst of wind to the end.
    • Super Sonic Thrust - The Strike branch, a stronger Sonic Thrust
  • Sword Rain- A rapid series of thrusts. Probably a jab, but could work as a side special.
    • Sword Rain: Alpha/Sword Rain: Beta - The Technical branch, essentially adding more hits to Sword Rain
    • Sonic Sword Rain - The Strike branch, adding a thrust to the end of Sword Rain. Essentially Sword Rain chained into Sonic Thrust, but used independently of it.
      • Raining Tiger Blade - Sword Rain chained into Tiger Blade
      • Beast Sword Rain - Sword Rain chained into Beast
  • Tiger Blade - A rising upwards slash, followed by a downwards slash. Most likely an up special.
    • Tiger Rage - The Technical branch, adds more hits before the downwards slash.
    • Heavy Tiger Blade/Twin Tiger Blade - The Strike branch, adds enough force the knock the opponent down, with the latter adding a second Tiger Blade before the knockdown happens.
  • Tempest - A multi-hitting somersaulting slash. Could fit as a side special, up special, down special, or even a neutral aerial.
    • Omega Tempest - The Technical branch Lloyd spins upward to continue the attack
    • Psi Tempest - The Strike branch, has better range and deals more damage.
      • Tempest Thrust - Tempest chained into Sonic Thrust
      • Tempest Beast - Tempest chained into Beast
  • Beast- A strike that summons a blast of energy shaped like a lion's head. Probably a side special, down special, or forward smash.
    • Raging Beast - The Technical branch, Lloyd spins to draw enemies in before performing the strike
    • Hunting Beast - Lloyd uses a weakened version of Beast, then flips into the air and slams back down, creating a shockwave
  • Rising Falcon - Lloyd leaps up and dives down at a diagonal angle. Could be uses as an up special, down special, or down aerial
  • Guardian - Lloyd forms a barrier of energy around himself. Probably used as his shield, though it could also work as a down special
  • Falcon's Crest - Lloyd merges his swords together into a single large blade and smashes them into the enemy. Since it's an endgame technique that can only be used with his strongest weapons, the Material Blade, it's more than likely going to end up his Final Smash.

So I saw this being discussed somewhere else.

Let's play a game. You get to choose who the last 3 characters are, BUT they have to be assist trophy upgrades. Who do you pick?

I choose Isaac, Shovel Knight, and Bomberman.
Waluigi
Shovel Knight
Dr. Kawashima

Gimme this and Smash can finally be perfect.

I really like Yuri but dislike Tales of Symphonia. I don't often get salty over Smash, but Lloyd getting in with a Yuri Mii Costume would actually slay me on the spot. Feel free to quote this @ me if it happens
I know the feeling, only with Velvet who doesn't have any real advantages like Yuri. Even in Smash speculation her life's a living hell

Meanwhile I'm stuck with thinking Yuri is extremely overrated while loving Symphonia.

It's one of those franchises.

I personally only know Lloyd, and all the talks about how Lloyd is the big stupid and Yuri is 1000x better have turned me off to Yuri to the point where he would be a disappointment to me much like Min Min was.

I would get over it like I did with Min Min, and I wouldn't disagree with the pick like I still do with Min Min, but the reveal still wouldn't be fun for me.

Pushing Lloyd as likely ended up making me start getting invested in the guy, and not just because I'd be right that way. That, and I vibe with swordfighters more than brawlers, so double swordie appeals to me more than brawler swordie.

Honestly same.

I started this speculation cycle liking Yuri and loving Lloyd but all the Lloyd bashing is starting to make me dislike Yuri.

I try not to make fans affect my love of a character but...

Gosh darn it, it hurts having one of your favorite games of all time constantly bashed purely to build up a game I find overrated.

It's actually turned me off of Velvet too and I was looking forward to playing that one.

It just feels like people can't talk about Tales anymore without bashing Lloyd and that really sucks the wind out of my sails.

I've decided I'll get into the series through Symphonia at some point, now that I've got a proper controller that can be used with Steam. Might seem a bit dated compared to what I'm used to, but ah well. I got through Ys VI decently well; As long as there aren't any dash jump puzzles, I should be fine :4pacman:

...There aren't any dash jump puzzles in Tales of Symphonia, right?

No. A lot of the puzzles are actually context sensitive.

That and lots of blocks and switches.

For what it's worth, the reason XC2 has an anime artstyle is because nobody liked the realistic artstyle of XC1 and XCX, so they decided to go with an artstyle that played into their strengths. Which just so happened to be anime. Maybe something similar can happen.
What? I mean the art style of XC1 and X was never lauded as a high point of the games, but I don't remember it drawing much criticism either. Well other than XCX being able to bikini-fy your children, but that's not style so much as... uh, something else. I remember some people speaking on the graphic fidelity of XC1 (or lack thereof) when it came out, because we were on the cusp of the XB1 and PS4 and Xenoblade was making graphical compromises for its open-area nature as it ran on a suped-up Gamecube.

But the art style, idk. Reaction to the first Xenoblade was very very positive overall, with people calling it the RPG of the generation. If there was criticism in that area, it certainly got drowned out.

But if that is the case, they uh, definitely overcompensated with some truly notoriously not good designs. But doesn't Monolith contract their art direction out on a per-game basis? Or at least their character design. Which results in some less than consistent quality. Really I just think choosing that hentai guy (I'm sorry, that might be underselling him, but I don't remember his name) was not the right call. It's funny though, although the other designs, such as the blades and the Torna stuff are a mixed bag, there are designs among them much stronger than the main cast received imo.

And I know this is all subjective, but as opposed to 2017 when most were seemingly defending the designs, now sentiment seems to lie on the side of acknowledging they're not so great.

Xenoblade isn't really my jam, I've only played the first. It was fun, but I didn't go back for more. I'm not adverse to giving the series another go some time, but when the cast looks like that, it's a deterrent to get into something that's not at the top of my list anyway. So for that sake, I hope next game they show a bit more restraint and... quality... in the character design. To me it's important.

Well, the faces in both the original XC1 and XCX got some flack, but that was more a graphics issue than an artstyle issue. That, and as far as I know XC1 remastered doesn't have any complaints with its general artstyle I think?

I've seen more criticism than XC2's artstyle itself than XC1's and XCX's.

I refuse to believe that many people don't have taste.
For what it's worth, I think in-game characters look better in XB2 than their predecessors simply because the faces are simpler and therefore don't need high-poly models to not look awkward.

Xenoblade 1 and X characters usually have better designs, imo, it's just their games can't really show it. I think Definitive Edition strikes a good balance between more expressive models and not having any saitom designs.

To be fair, art style and graphical prowess are two different things, and in terms of the latter, it would stand to reason that each iteration gets progressively better along with the technology. But the criticisms and opinions to which I, at least, am referring, are to the former.
