I wouldn't mind playing the ARMS game again if they said "One of the Pokemon featured in New Pokemon Snap will be the 11th Fighter! WHO'S THAT POKEMON?"... I immediately imagine Sakurai in a BARFIGHT with Harada.

Sakurai gets clocked, but he cleverly stumbles into a chair (a PURPLE AND YELLOW chair no less huehuehue) and SWINGS IT AT HARADA, but Harada grabbed a chair of his own and now its a CHAIR FIGHT!

Another guy walks into the bar and goes "HEYYYYYYYYY WHAT'S GOIN ON IN HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYUH?" and slips on some ice and causes both Sakurai and Harada to crash to the ground. They get back up and throw each other onto tables then throw tables on each other and it just shows it from outside the bar you hear glass crashing and nasally brooklyn accents yelling at each other and the windows breaking and such haha. One of the guys at the counter says "NYAAAAA GET OUTTA MY BARRRRRRRRR! GET OUTTA MY BARRRRRRRRRRR!" and Harada turns and says "IT'S NOT YOUR BAR! IT'S MINE!" and throws a bottle directly into his face and then Sakurai says "Treat your workers with respeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeect" and drop kicks Harada and then Harada goes "Nobody talks to me like that in MY bar!" then Roadhouse kicks Sakurai before going "RrrrrrrrrrrOADhouse". Sakurai goes "We need DINOZORD POWER NOW!" and summons a big Megazord, Harada just turns really big. The result is a big fight that... isn't a bar fight anymore because the bar is gone now. Rubble. Ruined.

Okay but now comes the obvious question right? If GTA gets into Smash, who could be the representative? Claude is the protagonist of the super important first open-world 3D game in the series, but he's silent and isn't super iconic. CJ and Niko are mega iconic in their own right conversely (plus CJ being black would enhance Smash's cultural diversity which is a neat bonus) and both are benchmarks of their era in gaming. But then there's GTAV, the second-biggest game ever in history. It totally deserves something but it has three protagonists who each share about equal spotlight. I guess Franklin is the most important in the story of the three, ever so slightly? But yeah it's a serious toss-up between all the choices here. I think personally I'd go with CJ. San Andreas is such a huge and important game and he has a jetpack for an easy up special.

Few comments:
1) It just occurred to me that Claude fits Mute Theory. Nothing crazy just though it was worth saying.
2) I agree with your points on CJ and Niko, especially concerning diversity and whatnot. Not to mention, while we have the Belmonts, Niko would give us more Eastern European blood, which is cool.
3) Regarding GTAV, I think Franklin would be the best choice: I have not played GTAV except for a little bit on my friend's PS5 (lol), but I am aware that the game's story mode has 3 potential endings, ALL of which have Franklin staying alive. Ending A: He and Michael kill Trevor; Ending B: Trevor goes off alone and Franklin goes after Michael who dies by accidental suicide; Ending C: All 3 of them live, but together they eliminate Devin, who paid a private company to do dirty work for him that got the 3 boys in a big mess i.e. the best case scenario ending.

Extra dumb theory: Claude being mute and not really having a defined personality gives him a leg up because it means he won’t utter curse words when he gets hit.

I've never played a GTA game (I'm getting the PS5 version of 5, and I'll get the trilogy if it's real) and CJ is absolutely the most recognisable protagonist to me.

Partially from memes, but mostly just because he's iconic enough for people to mention him more often than the rest.

The San Andreas theme is also really iconic, and it would have to get in smash if we got a GTA rep.

I think CJ would just be the most recognisable character to a larger audience, and would make the most people excited as far as I can tell. Although it's hard to argue with the stupidly high sales GTA 5 characters would have going for them.

I also don’t think CJ’s voice actor should present issues, as they could reuse voice clips if there are enough between the OG SA and the remaster

I think all the GTA protagonists could be done but most of them would have to have their voices from the games repurposed since Nintendo of America just really hates voice actors for some reason. Not only that but nearly all of the voice actors seem to have a falling out shortly after production of the games stop.

Claude would be the easiest since they wouldn't have to include a voice, thus leaving the precious voice test untouched and perfectly squared off. One win for mute theory!

Tommy Vercetti, Carl Johnson and Niko Bellic are probably never going to be reprising their roles with new voice clips with the reasons mentioned above.

However the GTA 5 protagonists seem on board to do anything. All three of them have been acting out their respective characters like Shawn Fenteno with Slink Johnson re-acting that Franklin & Lamar scene, Steven Ogg joining in for some fan projects and Ned Luke answering phone calls to fans as Michael De Santa. I bet they'd all love to reprise their roles and add new voice clips to their respective characters.

So if we're getting any GTA characters, it'll either be one of the GTA 5 protagonists or Claude.

I'm so conflicted with this new information that I've been given. On one hand, it would be the coolest thing ever to see Rockstar and Nintendo make an open world F-Zero game but on the other hand, I can't even bear to imagine Captain Falcon running on the streets and hijacking other people's machines. It doesn't feel right and I'd feel dirty but I just can't say I don't want this.

I’ve only ever played gta 5 and even then I gave up on it after about 5/6 months but it would be hilarious if one of the gta characters was last and we get a cgi trailer of dharkon preparing the attack and the gta character is just there hella confused as to why there’s soo many cartoon characters and a giant eyeball about to beam them to death.

I spent years sitting in living rooms watching the same thing ... Jack a ride, police chase, dead. Repeat sometimes one player would take 45 minutes....to die in this fashion. ....... Me I tried to play it as a driving simulator and took my responsibilities seriously...and couldn't because until gta3 the controls were junk. ..if you liked LA Noire on Switch you'll love GTA (hopefully) but definitely the later games...as for my quest ...the speedy delivery man of death service inc., well I think I prefer the on foot version.

After last mii costume wave, the ones that still don’t have any presence in smash (character, stage, music, mii costumes and/or AT) are Kingdom Hearts, Souls, Power Pros, Frogger and Professor Layton. Don’t expect too much from KH or Power Pros, but would surprised a bit that smash ultimate will end without anything from Souls, Frogger or Layton content (at least a mii costume). For example: Solaire swordfighter or Layton brawler.

To be honest, I’m very confident that the last fighter is going to be a Sonic representative, I just have this gut feeling for a few reasons:

-There hasn’t been any brand new companies represented in Fighters Pass vol 2, the only ones left are Capcom and Sega, I doubt a Capcom rep will be the last, though this could change but it’s hard to say for sure.
-The entirety of Fighters Pass vol 2 thus far seems to be filling missing gaps of Smash Ultimate instead of expanding to new areas like with Fighters Pass 1
-Sega hasn't received any new content for Fighters Pass vol 2 (unless if you count the Sophia spirit, which even then, is Altus), No brand new Sega Mii costumes have been added since Joker’s Mii wave
-For a Sega rep, it would make huge sense to have it be Sonic on Nintendo’s end, It’s one of Sega’s biggest, money-making franchises and it’d be hard for me to imagine it not being Sonic.
-This one is likely stretching it, but during the Sonic Central back in May, the presenter stated to “look forward to more crossovers throughout the year”, correct me if I’m wrong, but we’ve basically received no new crossovers since the ones that were already announced in that presentation, it’d be the perfect opportunity for them to announce another Sonic rep in Smash.

I think it’s very likely but that’s just me.

I personally think Layton goes under the raidar when it comes to this pass. Actually, level 5 in general go under the raidar. I do honestly think Layton has a huge chance to be the last character. He goes extremely under the raidar. I find it extremely weird we haven’t had spirits for the franchises considering hino and sakurai are buddy buddies and talk a lot of the time.

The only real contenders if you take companies that had new mii costumes during pass 2, spirits events pass pass 2’s announcement and full on hard deconfirmations and are on the smash bro’s trademark is sega/atlus. Take them out the question then we’re likely to get new company which I 100% believe would be koei tecmo or level 5

that’s probably me showing my bias for Layton a bit right here but I do think we’ll see level 5 content of some sort.

Well, they did recently announced that Sonic and Tails will be playable in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania.
I guess you could also count the Sonic X Minecraft crossover since it was fully revealed sometime after the May event, though it still received a small teaser there so it probably doesn't count.

Regardless, I don't know if Nintendo would allow a third party company to tease a Smash crossover like that, even if it's a vague statement that also refers to other projects they're notoriously strict about collaborations and breaking NDAs.

I started playing TWEWY emulated out of boredom and man, I can see why people want this in Smash. It’s like they invented the perfect game setting for Nomura designs to exist inside. The timing seems perfect too. The sequel came out a few(?) months ago, the final fighter’s reveal is probably in a month or so… like a repeat of Byleth and Corrin, but not infuriating.

They're not going to reference something fan-made in Smash... that's not how it works.

Nintendo basically gave SNK 50 music tracks and gave a total of three spirits promotions to fighters. I'd say most of the logic is thrown out the window at this point (the only logic remaining standing are that characters are only able to join Smash if they originated from video games).
