[Spirit event] From 7/23 (Friday), we will be holding "Keeping! Those with Hone" for 3 days! On the spirits board, many spirits that are in the shape of a horn or wear a horn appear. If you win the battle, you will get more gold than usual. #スマブラSP

I guess you could say this spirit event is pretty horny.
You are so going to horny jail for that.

That's something that I want to see in Smash. Seeing a normal kid taking on and defeating literal gods of light and darkness will be awesome to see.
Unpopular opinion but even though people always like to remark this, there are very few actual gods compared to the amount of wacky characters
Sephiroth is a human/alien hybrid godlike wannabe. Ganondorf is the human form of a self-proclaimed Demon King (still not an actual god), Kirby is kind of a god-slayer but he isn't one. Idk enough about Bayo to say if she is or not. Palutena is like the only one I can think of tbh.

The way Nintendo has been handling their legacy content in the Switch era frustrates me to no end. Here we are with the first Nintendo console without backward compatibility in nearly two decades and what do we get? Literally just NES and SNES when the previous console had that plus N64, GBA, DS, and even Wii. Not to mention that you can't even add funds to the Wii U eshop anymore starting next year. The GameCube is turning two decades old this year and I can count the number of games from that console that have been re-released on two hands. Want to play some of the classic titles you missed out on from the era? Nintendo just says "just buy them used lol" knowing that some games like Paper Mario: TTYD and Path of Radiance are absurdly expensive. Yes, I'll totally fork over $300 (which Nintendo isn't even getting by the way) to check out Ike's debut game. It's like Nintendo actively wants me to pirate their games. Don't even get me started about Pokemon...

Rant over.

[First part of response edited out due to not thinking things through entirely.]

New NSO updates.
Meanwhile Japan gets SMT if and Dead Dance instead of Claymates and Jelly Boy
You know, remember the statement where Nintendo promised further improvements to NSO?

It really feels like the various Nintendo departments are either not on the same page or they're not willing to pay the legal fees. I'm not content with either answer due to their respective implications - whatever the rights costs are, the international departments just look really bad when it comes to this.

I remember that statement, but so far it doesn't seem that they're really committed to improve the NSO service, unless there was a mistranslation or they meant something different.

Wouldn’t You Like To Know?
At this point. Emulation is really the only way to go. Nintendo has pushed every single viable option away. If they are gonna make NSO exclusive to NES and SNES, whilst making it needlessly harder to buy legacy games on 3DS and Wii U. What exactly do they expect us to do?

If they won’t give a way to play many of their most acclaimed games. We won’t wait for them.

but also like… where’s Secret of Mana?
I'm pretty sure the reason there have hardly been any 3rd Party titles is because their companies are selling them as collections rather than allow them for free. Secret of Mana is part of the Mana collection on the Switch. So to them, why would they allow someone to play Secret of Mana for $20 a year when they can have people buy Secret of Mana, alongside 2 other games, for 60/80/whatever?

honestly, if I didn't have already have a bunch of games that I want to play or have my eyes on, I'd probably try some of these completely random games making it onto NSO to see if any of them are maybe actually decent or not terrible, or basically see if they actually deserve to get **** on. You could call it a curiosity thing.

As I say, I think its great to try to add obscure games very few people have played on the NSO...as long as they aren't garbage, which I guess is why I have my aforementioned curiosity over these games.

That said, even if some of them were actually okay, Nintendo still really has to do a better job getting more notable retro titles onto NSO.

The pichu bouncy castle in nimbasa city
that art is absolutely terrifying

also NSO is lame, emulate if you really want to play a game that’s missing. Super easy nowadays and who are you hurting

I modded my Wii U to play all NES up to Wii U games all from the gamepad. Even GameCube games work great. Oddly enough N64 games don’t run too well tho

Snake Man's stage from Metal Blade Solid
I just want Boss Trophies. So it's not just Rathalos, but also, they're separate, like the Master Ball.
That's a pretty neat idea actually.

Nintendo might be giving us the clue of our next fighter with this.
Sakurai: "Alright, so now you have to animate this fighter and stage with clay, but also make sure it's in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's artstyle."
Animators: internal screaming

So what is it do people actually want on NSO that we can't get on the Switch already besides the obvious Earthbound and Mario RPG. We've already got most of the big names on NSO. We have the castlevania collection, megaman collections, Legends of Mana collection, Dragon Quest games and more I'm probably forgetting on the eshop already.

Regarding Earthbound, maybe Nintendo is working on a full stylized remake similar to Link's Awakening. Mario RPG is possibly the hardest to get due to Square.

There's something rather amusing seeing the obscure SNES lineup offered as a benefit for Nintendo Switch Online the same week the Steam Deck gets announced. Nothing like the offering of thousands of often discounted titles from Valve on their service to put Nintendo's... more limited offerings into perspective. And that's not even getting into emulation; this time next year we'll have people using Dolphin to play Gamecube and Wii titles on their handheld devices while the hardcore Nintendo faithful will still be hoping old Game Boy titles get offered to NSO.

Chrono Trigger would be nice
Well, considering how the recent ports were, the DS is still the best way to play it I think lol. It's definitely something they'd port themselves again.

Honestly I'm more bothered that there's STILL no Star Tropics 2 on NSO.

Like come on you put the first damn game on there. Just throw the second one up!

A Lot of Third Parties absolutely know that games like Chrono Trigger are wanted on new platforms, They'd rather charge a premium then let people play it for free.

Seriously Square rerelease Chrono Trigger I am dying.

I have been emulating games since i was a wee lad, and without emulation and piracy i wouldn't be the gamer that i am today. Without emulating Super Castlevania IV on ZSNES, i wouldn't have found out about it and loved it so much that i ended up buying it officially TWICE (Super Nintendo Classic and CV Anniversary Collection) so it's not like i don't want to. I bought all Mega Man (Classic, X, Zero and ZX) games on Switch via collections, so if you give me an official option i will buy it if it's viable enough.

But Nintendo doesn't want me to play their old games legally, so i don't care. I live in Latin America anyway so piracy is already the standard here (or at least, people are more open about it). I wish it wasn't, but then i see Nintendo's way of using legacy content, and then i realize they have no one to blame but themselves.

There was a problem fetching the tweet

“I’ve got a BONE to pick with you! Heheh!”
That's the second time this year where we've had 2 spirit events for two weeks in a row. An event tournament is guaranteed for next week

Nintendo's best console, the Virtual Boy, turns 26 today!

Sakurai says:
The Virtual Boy was released today in 1995! A game machine that expands the stereoscopic space when you look inside. The monitor was not built-in, and the image was connected by a red LED bar and a vibrating mirror. The symmetrical controller was novel.

I want on the NSO:
-Metroid II: return of samus.
-Final Fantasy IV or some Dragon Quest stuff like III.
-Super Bomberman or Bomberman

Besides the obvious stuff that has already been mentioned.
Dragon Quest games are all on the eshop. Bomberman would be dope especially with multiplayer.
