Snake Man's stage from Metal Blade Solid
I personally feel that if Zero got in, the stage could be a different one.
That's definitely true if he gets in after X, but I think Central Highway would still come with him if he was first since it's the most iconic area in the series by far (as far as I know at least) and while it is more associated with X, Zero makes his debut there too.

I'm thinking of either Zero Stage from X5
I don't remember an area like that...Is X5 the one where the fortress starts off with a poorly designed Force Beam segment?

Anniversaries normally don't coincide with reveals but Crash's 25th anniversary will be in September. Just a thought.

Not expecting it though and keeping expectations low.

Well the question I have to ask is do you think CP11 will be more Low-Key than Kazuya, or more High Key than Kazuya?
More low-key, I think it’ll be Dante. (Tekken sold double as the Devil May Cry franchise, so I presume Dante would be lower budget)

Honestly, I could see Dante needing an Higher budget for Development, but it depends on what they do with his Moveset

If they add alot of Sub-Weapons to his moveset, in addition to the Regular Rebellion and Ibony and Ivory, as well as his Devil Trigger form, it could be bigger or on par with Kazuya. Not only with all the animations that Dante needs, but that's alot of modeling and animating for the Weapons, and the Devil trigger form. This also doesn't include other potential mechanics like Styles, Specil taunts, Crazy Combos (from DMC3), etc. Of course it's dependent on how many mechanics Dante would come with, how many moves each Sub Weapon gets, and etc.

If they stick with the basics, then the budget won't be too much (though personally Dante wouldn't be feeling Crazy if that's all he had)

Jokes aside there's only two notable RTS reps I can see getting in and both are from the same company, Kerrigan and Arthas. The problem with other RTS games is that they're either realistic military games with little to no notable characters, historical games like Company of Heroes, or are from franchises that didn't originate as games like Warhammer 40k.

Kerrigan and Arthas are both similar and different in many ways. Both were once heroes that turned into villains after they got corrupted and they both serve as one of the most popular characters of their respective franchises.

Kerrigan is the Zerg Queen and she commands the Zerg swarm, an alien race that consumes planets of their life and resources before hunting the next planet. She wields psychic powers alongside her Zerg powers where she can summon a horde of different Zergs to fight for her. Think of Zerg as alien bugs that are big and can eat you.

View attachment 319569

Arthas is the Lich King and he commands an undead army. He uses death magic to pull off cool spells like revive corpses that he commands and stuff, he even has access to shadow magic. Both characters are similar in the sense that they were once good guys that turned bad and they have control of a monstrous swarm that consumes everything in their path. But other than that one is an alien that fights with bugs while the other is a lich that fights with zombies.

View attachment 319571
Kerrigan and Illidan are two of my most wanted characters for Smash but Arthas is pretty high up there with them. I’ve always loved Blizzard’s characters and world building so there are quite a lot of characters I’d love to see make it in. Personally, I think Kerrigan has the most potential to faithfully represent RTS mechanics since it makes perfect sense for her to summon Zerg units. Arthas and Illidan might feel a little strange summoning units.

E.M.M.I from Metroid Dread gets in, fans choose not to call Sakurai biased despite being almost identical to the FE situation from 4.
It'd be cool to see how Sakurai would incorporate E.M.M.I.'s movement.

But in all seriousness though, if we get a promotional pick from Dread, it'd more likely be the Chozo guy confirmed to have some kind of role in the game. It's fairly likely that that Chozo is the one depicted in two secret picture in Samus Returns, one of which shows that they have an arm cannon similar to Samus's and isn't afraid to use it. And there's a good possibility they might use a halberd too, expanding their moveset potential.

So far, E.M.M.I. reminds me quite a lot of the Guardians with how early on, they are very threatening if they spot you. Doesn't help that both share the one-eye scanning motif.

But I want to wait for Dread to come out before making a decision. Cause I want to see who that Chozo character is. Should that Chozo character be cool and have moveset potential, I would certainly choose the Chozo character over the E.M.M.I.

To be completely honest with you, I genuinely have no idea what to make of CP11 yet. And I'm unsure whether or not I'm even going to bother trying this time.

I'd say we could see another major Japanese IP to probably a slightly lesser extent to Tekken, probably from either Sega or Capcom. I thought I'd be over and done with the "big" picks after E3 too but upon further thinking it's not out of the question. I mean, we got Cloud in a normal ass Direct too. I really don't know right now, which is... exciting I guess? But also a little discouraging with only one character left, it feels less rewarding to talk about. Whatever happens happens, yadda yadda.

I don't think it'll be a lame first party promo pick like a lot of people have convinced themselves of though, I still don't really buy the whole ending on a lownote thing.

I think the E.M.M.I. robot is much more suited for Assist Trophy or boss territory. I know Smash spits in canon all the time but literally the defining feature of these things is that they're invincible to everything except Samus's Final Smash. Either way, Metroid is pretty good on its amount of Smash fighters rn.

Ok but for real I ****ing love E.M.M.I those ****ers are scary, you see how they don't even try to move in a realistic human fashion? They ****in twist and contort their bodies when climbing up walls and ****, I'd applaud the Smash team on animation if they went or them and nothing else so far as the game's not out yet

Can it can be agreed the last fighter could be anyone at this point? Because who would have ever expected Kazuya.

Whether its a low, mid, or high note 1st party of low, mid, or high note 3rd party.

For all we know it could even be Master Chief to end Ultimate on a big bang as he "Finishes the Fight".

Or just a Pokemon in general. That or Dixie Kong or Octoling.
I agree. Everyone & their mother’s caught on to the whole “Smash doesn’t end with hype characters thing”, but when everyone latches onto an idea like that then they’re usually wrong. Case in point: Everyone (including me) thinking that the Heihachi Mii meant Tekken wasn’t getting a character.

Oooor that idea is right & we’re getting something more lowkey like Octoling or Decidueye. I’m not really into the idea of either of them but it would tie in nicely to Splatoon 3 & the new Pokemon. With Minecraft, Final Fantasy & Tekken in this pass I don’t think they really need another big name, there’s already more Star power here than in FP1.

Basically anything can happen & no one will be right lmao

I feel it either being something so big that it doesn't need a big event, like Steve. Or something super low-key which is what we usually see at a Nintendo Direct usually for Smash reveals. I'm personally leaning to the ladder.
I don't think Steve is a very good example, since we don't know Nintendo's original intentions for his reveal.

I think Cloud is a fine example, though.

Of course neither of those characters was last, but we'll see how it plays out.

Next fighter is Leon S Kennedy with Claire Redfield as an alt. Both will use their RE2 appearance. They will use a knife and various other weapons. Why them? Because RE2 is the most iconic game of the series and Nintendo wants characters from IPs that (noewdays) have deals with Sony (Persona, Final Fantasy, Tekken and Resident Evil).

The stage is raccon police department with zombies and lickers as a gimmick.

The best part about this whole CP11 thing is we simply just don't know what to expect.

Vergeben shot what little credibility he had in the foot, and Brush has shown that getting Nintendo info? Pretty dang hard.

The worst part about CP11 is it won't be until September, and while Kazuya launches at the end of June, giving us basically only about a 2 month wait until September.... those two months are gonna suck due to "The last character will suck!" "No, they'll be hype!" "Smash always ends on a low note!" "Low note is subjective!" until September.... at the earliest.

God it's weird to see Decidueye listed as a low key pick now. Gone are the days of base game speculation when it was one of the most talked about choices, sadly.

Would you guys say that Kazuya probably means we aren’t getting another fighting game character? I would have loved to see Sub-Zero, Fulgore, or Nightmare but none of them seem too likely now.

Is the promo Pokemon ever a high-key pick? Pokemon is huge but most people wouldn't even care about the given candidates were we not conditioned to only expect the character to be among two or three possibilities residing in the spotlight at the time.

If Pokemon inclusions were like others, we'd be talking about an entirely different group of candidates.

ngl decidueye's inclusion is kinda obvious at this point
Not really, Gen 7 already got a good amount of content with Incineroar's inclusion in base game (just minus a stage) and it's too early to speculate about Pokemon Legends content seeing how that's largely the reason he's back on the table. In that case there'd be no real reason not to just... go with Gen 8, which has no content yet.

Unless Decidueye brought some Pokken content I guess, lmao. Feels a bit late for that.

I'd never say never but it does seem pretty unlikely with only one character remaining. Although Kazuya is technically the second fighting game character we got in FP2, for whatever that's worth. Nightmare in particular seems like a stretch because >Namco.

At the very least, assuming, and this is assuming, that the September comes early-mid in September, if we even get one of course, after Kazuya drops on the 28th, we only really have 2 months to wait.

But man, that 2 months is gonna suck.

Well the only thing I will say when it comes to CP11 being the last character is that

Nintendo picked all 6 characters that they thought would Sell as DLC..

I do understand that at this stage in the game, The Last characters have less responsibility to sell a Fighter pass like the earlier characters, But all characters in DLC were picked because Nintendo felt that had good chance of selling, if not an entire pass, than at least as Separate characters

Nintendo doesn't automatically try to pick disappointing characters. Corrin and Byleth weren't picked because they were good at disappointing people, but because having a character from a game that is on people's mind (since it came out) does do good numbers from DLC. It's why the "Advertisement characters" are from Franchises that have shown Proven successful sales data and such.

So I think whoever this Last character is gonna be one that Nintendo absolutely has confidence in and has shown appeal to audience in one form or another. I have good faith that this last character will have some good appeal, even if it's controversial choice

Of course It doesn't really narrow down the choices, just wanted to give more of an optimistic look into the whole "Last character will be disappointment" angle

Yep, that's the one lol

I suggested that one mostly because of it's significance and well, because it's literally called Zero Stage. The level design of that stage wasn't the best, at least at the beginning, but I think speaking in terms of aesthetic and all, it looks very cool and could be a dope stage for Smash.

Those laser beams at the beginning of the level and the other threats of the whole stage could work as a fine stage hazards, I guess.

Spirits wise, they could do a few things. The Grim Reaper would definitely be the Legendary Spirit. Maybe add stuff like the well-known premade families as spirits like the Landgraabs, maybe also the Burglar, Ghosts, Cowplant, and Repo-men? I do wonder if they would add a few expansion pack characters too as spriits. It would be pretty cool though, especially Aliens and Pets.
