Mostly due to the fact that he is the only Smash 4 third party Mii Fighter costume that hasn't returned yet.Really? I see Lloyd’s name thrown a lot.

And Chosen Undead too, don't forget them. Kinda hard to imagine how they were considered the overlooked darkhorse back in the day.Really? I see Lloyd’s name thrown a lot.
tbh I think a namco character as dlc is another slept on possibility
Seriously though, I am consistently shocked how little people talk about Dark Souls in terms of Namco.I really really wish people wouldn’t sleep on a Dark Souls character. I feel like the series is up there as one of Namco-Bandai’s most important and trust me when I say that the music by itself would justify its inclusion. The games are absolutely ****ing packed with some of the most somber and dramatic battle themes I’ve ever heard
Gwyn, Lord of Cinder
Knight Artorias
Gaping Dragon
Executioner’s Chariot
Deacons of the Deep
Abyss Watchers (my personal favorite)
The Soul of Cinder
And that’s just scratching the surface of what the games offer.
The stages of the game could be some of the most jaw dropping of the game.
Aside from the somber beauty of the stages there’s also the character to take into accountAnor Londo:
Probably one of the most iconic locations in the games. It’s a little hard to forget what you have to go through in this part of the game. No spoilers but I feel like this place is part of the reason Dark Souls has its infamy for being difficult.
Majula:
Majula is what you would consider your hub town in Dark Souls II and while it isn’t exactly anything more than a small coastal town it’s still a very gorgeous location in the game.
Irithyll of the Boreal Valley:
I don’t think there’s any way a photo could do Irithyll justice but this one is the best I could find. This is easily one of the most gorgeous scenes from Dark Souls III and goes down as one of my favorite areas of all of them and is easily my choice for a stage.
I would LOVE if it was a traveling stage that went through multiple locations through Dark Souls III because I feel like DS3 was when they REALLY hit gold with their environment design.
And of course, because of how Dark Souls’ Weapon Swapping is, the potential for a moveset is limitless. To the point it can have scythes, swords, staves, daggers, bombs, pyromancy, axes, long swords, stance swapping, and on and on and on.I think there’s no way they won’t choose the Chosen Undead as the Smash character because of how they actually tie in, not only as the player character, but also as a giant part of the lore. But I also think they won’t just stick with the DS1 design for their alts so here’s my wishlist for their alts:
DS1 Basic Armor
DS2 Basic Armor Faraam:
Dark Souls 3 basic armor:
Solaire Armor:
Catarina Armor:
Knight Artorias Armor:
Soul of Cinder Armor:
Deprived:
Dante would be hella hype, but please for the love of God let him be balanced!Dante is coming, I can feel it and it will be glorious (plz have his DMC2 outfit be an alt costume as unlikely as that is)
Akali could be cool. The smoke could be like that of Forsburn from Rivals of Aether. Speaking of which, there's an indie game that has some cool characters.Aside from those, I'd say... Jinx, Lux... maybe Ryze, Ekko, Miss Fortune or Katarina. Kai'sa or Akali, in some timeline out there, maybe.
In fact, I'd argue that aside from some supports and most non-humanoids besides Teemo, there's plenty of decently popular choices.
We literally don’t have a single one of those on the roster though. As for Dark Souls, Dark Souls is a series I'd honestly love to have in Smash
But I'd also be lying if I said that the majority of the cast's designs didn't bore me to tears. We'd like, almost certainly not get Artorias, so the other characters are just.... Medieval fantasy knights.
That's true.We literally don’t have a single one of those on the roster though.
Woah this is such a cool idea whoever thought of it is probably super sexy and smart and has huge ****I've always imagined Crono being a bit like Captain Ginyu in FighterZ where he uses Techs and his party members show up to make them into Double or Triple Techs.
I don't even know if it's realistic to expect this given it would require 6 additional models and technically spoil Magus but man. Frog 3D model in the Smash style. Man
I would absolutely love that. Chrono Trigger is one of my favorite games ever and it would be awesome to see it brought back in any way. While I personally prefer Magus, I think Crono is a lot more likely and could have a really fun moveset based around dual techs. Magus would actually make for a really cool Sephiroth echo (he’s got a big spike on the end of his scythe so stabbing moves work fine).Smashboards is no longer dead, hooray.
I know last week I was pessimistic on double dips, but there is one double dip that I find interesting: Square.
Remember when Vergeben said that he heard Erdrick, Lumnary, Sephiroth, and Chrono the most from his Square sources? In hindsight, I think that is something to entertain, even if I still am pessimistic on double dips. Chrono Trigger also lines up well with what I am expecting for CP11, a smaller reveal at the end of the day.
Yeah, I'm inclined to agree. The grounded, "boring" designs actually loop back around to unique when you stack 'em up against the rest of the roster. Somehow, we've never had a full-body armor knight character so far.We literally don’t have a single one of those on the roster though.
I was specifically referring to spirits, they usually happen a month or two after the factTo be fair, a Mii Costume's probably easier to slap together than an entire content pack. I think Miis and Spirits are something they can be more casual about, since they're ultimately minor little things rather than the major hype-pushers.
TWEWY?TWEWY is a bigger deal right now than half the SE **** you guys are talking about.
Thank you Gwen that's really nice of you to sayWoah this is such a cool idea whoever thought of it is probably super sexy and smart and has huge ****
The World Ends With You.TWEWY?
THERE'S A TALES OF MANA, TOO?Tales of Mana
Rie Sonomura is that you?TWEWY is a bigger deal right now than half the SE **** you guys are talking about.
I think Magus would show up because Sakurai has no shame in making something up to fit an idea for smash. Like how he made up Terry's up air. Likely he will make some sort of new tech for Magus and Crono if this was what he would do for Crono's moveset.Woah this is such a cool idea whoever thought of it is probably super sexy and smart and has huge ****
You really think Masahiro "lol Claus lol Fiora lol Pneuma" Sakurai cares about spoiling Magus? The real issue is that if I remember correctly, Magus had no dual techs
He meant Trails of Mana.THERE'S A TALES OF MANA, TOO?
Hopefully Crono’s Smash reveal is accompanied by the announcement of a new game, whether that be a remaster, remake, or even a sequel.Crono would be amazing and a great surprise but I wonder what would motivate Nintendo to actually include him, considering the Chrono franchise has been long dead and there isn't really that much fan demand for his inclusion, unlike with Banjo.
Why Valkyrie Profile? Like the others make sense from either a recent standpoint, a importance standpoint(like Bubble Bobble and Space Invaders) or cult following(like Crono Trigger), but Valkyrie Profile hasn't had any attention compared to other Square series like Nier or The World Ends with You.Crazy to think how much big Capcom and Square IP is still out there and NOT in Smash:
Square-Enix:
1. Tomb Raider
2. Kingdom Hearts
3. Chrono Trigger
4. Final Fantasies other than 7
5. Tales of Mana
6. Bubble Bobble
7. Space Invaders
8. Valkyrie
Why is that a problem or issue? Dark Souls is a Japanese-made game. Super Smash Bros. is a Japanese-made game. Being Japanese is not an issue.Thanks. Yeah that game got rave reviews but it is very JAPANESE lol. (Not a bad thing at all but basically lines up with what we already have in the game).
My bad. Thanks for the follow-up SNEKeater. He meant Trails of Mana.
Not only that but how the hell would Crono's techs work in 8 player smash? I mean you could probably change them into sprites of themselves but I don't know.I've always imagined Crono being a bit like Captain Ginyu in FighterZ where he uses Techs and his party members show up to make them into Double or Triple Techs.
I don't even know if it's realistic to expect this given it would require 6 additional models and technically spoil Magus but man. Frog 3D model in the Smash style. Man
What's wrong with being Japanese? It's done us pretty good so far...Thanks. Yeah that game got rave reviews but it is very JAPANESE lol. (Not a bad thing at all but basically lines up with what we already have in the game). It would definitely get a

But that's already in Smash through the spirits, and I'm pretty sure his list was for IPs NOT in Smash. He meant Trails of Mana.
While Magus doesn't have any double techs, he does have some triple techs, so if there was to be a triple tech in Crono's moveset (whether as a special or FS or whatever), then he could show up that way.Thank you Gwen that's really nice of you to say
As for Magus, I forgot about his Techs but he'd still likely show up in a Final Smash, though like you say they'd probably just spoil him.
You see this is a good idea but it doesn't get me Frog in 3D so I don't like itNot only that but how the hell would Crono's techs work in 8 player smash? I mean you could probably change them into sprites of themselves but I don't know.
I meant to delete that comment in the first place but the issue is that we have just had a DLC pack that is full of popular Japanese IP at the expense of popular Western IP. It would be more of the same. What's wrong with being Japanese? It's done us pretty good so far...
Well then he posted Resident Evil, which also has Spirits. But that's already in Smash through the spirits, and I'm pretty sure his list was for IPs NOT in Smash.
I get where you're coming from but that's basically the entire history of Smash so I don't think being too Japanese is a detriment in terms of variety. If anything it helps to stand out, as the most Japanese character we have in this Pass is I guess Sephiroth so there's a lot of room for a more overtly local character in terms of background and aesthetics. Maybe if it were the first Pass and we had Joker already then TWEWY might feel redundant but not as of right now.I meant to delete that comment in the first place but the issue is that we have just had a DLC pack that is full of popular Japanese IP at the expense of popular Western IP. I was afraid it would be read wrong so I tried to delete it but it showed up in another reply that I did.
