There are too many unknowns about the theory to blindly rely on it but I wouldn't say it's a big reach.

Whether or not they are working with localized names in this season is actually a pretty sound way to count certain characters out. It's not like we're dealing with chair colors or a PotD camera angle.

Or they could just record crowd cheers in those languages for the Pokemon.
Steve, Alex, Enderman, Zombie and Min Min all use the Japanese crowd cheers. There's already precedent for them recording extra crowd cheers only if they absolutely have to for this pass.

I feel you there. I would have loved to see Gengar, an Astral Chain character, or Impa but all of them have had spirit events. I’m fortunate enough that I really like hundreds of characters so I’m not too phased by specific deconfirmations. My top three most wanted are the Battletoads, Magus, and Zegram Ghart and none of them are really on anyone’s radar enough to the point that it’s not even worth deconfirming them since they probably aren’t happening regardless. I think, of the three, the Battletoads actually have a small chance but I’m not really expecting them.

I made a top 20 most wanted list a while ago and this will show that almost none of my most wanted have much a chance. I’d be surprised if many people even knew who all the characters are lol.

Did I miss something with Crono? I never remember hearing about him being deconfirmed. I’m not really expecting him anyways but I did have a Chrono Trigger character in my top 3 most wanted.

It’s extremely unlikely we’ll get another Square Enix DLC after Sephiroth. Unless more dlc happens but haha... good luck with that... best to assume Neku, Crono and any other SE peeps are out of the running

Oh yeah that’s definitely true. I was thinking there was some kind of news regarding Chrono Trigger specifically. Well that scratches two of my top three most wanted off the list if you use the same logic on Microsoft and the Battletoads. I guess all my hopes are riding on Zegram now lol.

He is Pharaoh Man. I believe that’s his design from one of the comics. I love what he looks like there. I even made a custom model for a Brawl mod over Wolf using this design.

I took some creative liberties with my mod and gave him an Arbok for the snake on his head because I was mostly known for making Pokémon mods and I thought it was funny.

My most wanted is Madotsuki... and while I don't think she's impossible, I also don't think she's anywhere close to likely enough to actively invest into emotionally. There're a few characters I feel that way about, but Madotsuki is definitely the one at the top there. Now luckily, I am a modder...

Among characters that do have somewhat of a shot, I remain firm in holding out for Reimu or Porky.

For real? While I've been a teeny bit salty over some characters (like KOS MOS due to moveset potential), I simply don't approach speculation with a binary mindset, nor do I even put so much at stake emotionally. This is a family-oriented party / versatile fighting game at the end of the day where Sakurai do not intend to get people upset over NPC or no appearances.

So at the end of the day, I'm chillin' no matter what.

I'm pretty confident that this pass was fully planned out well before Crash 4 launched, so I don't think this would affect Crash's chances (which I still think are pretty good) much at all.

I'm not sure whether that meant that they had low expectations for Crash 4 or if it legitimately did really well, but it's still great to see. (and hopefully it's promising for the future of the series, along with other series like Spyro)

Better than companies like Capcom (for Resident Evil games post-4, or Darkstalkers re-releases) or Square-Enix (for the Tomb Raider reboot) having wildly unrealistic sales expectations (ex. expecting the Tomb Raider reboot to sell 6 million copies in the first month) or effectively blaming the fans when they don't well as well as the companies had hoped. (ex. Capcom refusing to make more Darkstalkers game because a re-release of a game that Darkstalkers fans would have already had didn't do as well as they expected, even though that re-release was among the top-selling games on PSN when it launched)
