We'd get Chun-Li before Sakura, Morrigan before Lillith and you never even mentioned Phoenix Wright or Dante which are the most likely candidates. But anyways, if Capcom DOES end up getting a rep in for DLC, it's gotta be a character from one of their older games or one of their popular characters. And I'm talking about characters like Sakura (the #1 most popular Street Fighter character of all time, no I'm not joking), Makoto (who's the second most popular Street Fighter character and has appeared in only 3 GAMES), Lilith, which is basically a version of Morrigan that came out of left field, Kenji or Strider Hiryu, who are literal NINJAS and since Zeku is pretty much the first Strider, which makes the Strider Hiryu series canon to Street Fighter it makes sense, and I could go ON and ON about many other characters Capcom has left in the dust or is one of their most popular characters.
He was just making a pun because Sona (LoL) is one letter away from SoraAgain... DISNEY.
Yeah. The only SF characters I can see getting in before Chun-Li are M.Bison and Akuma. We'd get Chun-Li before Sakura, Morrigan before Lillith and you never even mentioned Phoenix Wright or Dante which are the most likely candidates.
Don't worry, I found ONE piece of gaming news:They are supposed to release the sales info for last fiscal year literally tomorrow... and, according to ZhugeEX, there’s supposed to be “a lot of gaming news this week”. I imagine Nintendo will partake of that

Woah, really?! With his height and slimness, I'd have thought he'd be at least middleweight. We had a lightweight tournament right before Sephiroth was revealed, and Sephiroth is just as light as Kirby. Likewise, we had two Spirit Events in 2020 (long haired and sleeveless characters) that featured Mythra as one of the most prominent Spirits.
I don't think many people genuinely believe a singing and/or dancing character is deconfirmed, but even if there were, past Spirit Events suggest that the team making these things really don't care if the event is related to an upcoming character.
I didn't know about it either, until SmashBoards talked about it; that inspired me to research it to understand the hate it gets. What the hell is YIIK
Why does everyone know about it except for me what did I miss
You've probably gotten the answer(s) you were looking for, but let's just say this game is... not liked. At all. By anybody. What the hell is YIIK
Why does everyone know about it except for me what did I miss
Honestly, I wouldn't mind Skullgirls appearing in any capacity. While I am not fully familiar with the game, I'd get the impression that Filia / Samson would be the primary choice since they're the centrepiece of the game's advertising and concept - and she might be the easiest to translate over. Specifically, Skullgirls' emphasis on extensions might be something that could be translated over with Filia or any other Skullgirls' character's moveset. What? It gives us an excuse to talk about Skullgirls.
I mean, when you're litterally one of the biggest games on the planet, there's bound to be at least a couple fans who take things a bit too far.
Anyways, if this is anything like other notable gaming fads, Im sure the perception of Fortnite and it's fanbase will mellow a bit over the years. This seems to be a bit of a cycle. The likes of Minecraft, Undertale, and even Pokemon used to have the same reputation but they've seem to have come into their own.
It's also worth pointing out that once upon a time games like Pong, Pac-Man and SMB were met with a lot of the same criticisms. The 1988 ABC special "Nuts for Nintendo" has a lot of those tones, especially with how Nintendo's being compared with toy businesses and some parents included in the special are clearly befuddled. I mean, the special opens with: "We don't know how to play Zelda, but we do know why kids love them, and critics hate them!"I don't care about Fortnite. I've never played it and I respect people who don't like it, but IDK, most of the times it feels like the hatred towards Fortnite it's because
1. it's popular
2. a lot of kids/casual people play the game
I know some people have their reasons to genuinely dislike the game, but in most cases I feel it's just the same as happened before with Minecraft, which was also hated and criticized... mostly by people who hasn't even played the game.
An attempt at a "postmodern" RPG, heavily hampered by a lot of issues. From what I read, the major outliers are an unlikeable protagonist, botched attempts at sudden mood shifts that become jarring rather than funny, and both dialogue and gameplay alike being dragged out to an annoying degree, plus a pretty insensitive nod to a real-life tragedy. Also the developer basically threw a fit about the game's criticism apparently which doesn't do any favors. What the hell is YIIK

Sounds like a good argument.I just had a crazy thought that is probably never going to happen. How would everyone feel if we ended up getting Zaveid over any of the main characters of Tales? While he isn’t a main protagonist, he is the only character I’m aware of to play a major role in two Tales games (other than direct sequels where the whole cast returns). I think that at least gives him some advantage over the other side characters. I loved Zaveid and I think he could make for a really fun Smash character. I don’t think he’s very likely, but it’s fun to think about.
YIIK is an RPG. The issue starts just with the name of the game, that you would read "Yikes" when it's supposed to be "Y2K", even the creator had to write this on the steam page. What the hell is YIIK

Zaveid was a fun character but maaaaaaaaan I'd feel robbed from Velvet, easily one of my favourite protagonists and she's one of the flashiest fighters I have ever seen that could join SmashI just had a crazy thought that is probably never going to happen. Velvet is my most wanted as well but I’d honestly be really happy with either of them. Velvet was my favorite in Berseria although I loved the whole cast while Zaveid was my favorite from Zesteria.Zaveid was a fun character but maaaaaaaaan I'd feel robbed from Velvet, easily one of my favourite protagonists and she's one of the flashiest fighters I have ever seen that could join Smash
That's easy, for you see....Why's everyone always talking about Lloyd, Yuri, and Velvet? Why does nobody talk about my girl Pascal?
And don't tell me it's cuz she's a side character from a game that's neither the most recent or popular. If you do I'll forehead flick my cat.
She was the genius inventor character from Tales of Graces. Honestly, it wasn't a fantastic game imo, but I remember Pascal because she was my favorite party member to play as out of every Tales game basically using her staff like a sniper rifle which I thought was super cool. She also stood out as the only female party member in that game that didn't have absolutely atrocious visual design. That's easy, for you see....
I have no clue who Pascal is, care to explain? I can always appreciate a good sales pitch
Pascal was great. She was definitely one of the more enjoyable Tales characters. I agree for the most part on the character design but I think Malik looked cool at least. She was the genius inventor character from Tales of Graces. I loved Magilou too. Honestly, I think Berseria’s entire cast was amazing (minus maybe Laphicet). I’d love to see any of them make it in.If I were to make any Tales side character playable it would be Magilou. She is my favorite Tales character ever from my favorite Tales game.
THIS says otherwise...We'd get Chun-Li before Sakura,
Morrigan before Lillith
Alright, The Stoopid Unikorn and Hydreigonfan01 ... allow me to explain why I put Lilith before Morrigan. From my honest to god point of view, I honestly think that Capcom should give Morrigan a rest when it comes to Darkstalkers. Because, not only has Morrigan been the Darkstalkers representative in crossover fighting game Capcom has ever made, she's been the Darkstalkers representative in EVERYTHING. The ONLY crossover that never had Morrigan involved even though it had a Darkstalkers character in it (that being Demitri Maximoff) was 2003's SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos, which took place before The King of Fighters 2003 and Mega Man Zero 2 respectively. While SVC Chaos wasn't the greatest game in the world, SNK made a point across very clearly: Capcom should REALLY give Morrigan a break and give other Darkstalkers representatives a chance to shine in crossover fighting games, because if you put any Darkstalkers character in a fighting game and add Morrigan in there, Ms. "I Show Up In Everything Related To Darkstalkers" (that being Morrigan) always steals the spotlight from every other Darkstalkers character.Lilith before Morrigan. Lilith before Morrigan "I show up in every Capcom crossover" Aensland. I.... I really don't know how to take this.
In terms of Devil May Cry, I think Nero would be more likely. Plus, Phoenix Wright doesn't have that feeling that spells out Smash Bros. Again: Smash Bros. is for gaming's greatest characters to duke it out in the ring. A lawyer doesn't have that kind of feel.and you never even mentioned Phoenix Wright or Dante which are the most likely candidates.
Yeah... I'm sorry about that. I just didn't know that a pun was being made until I saw the PAC-Man Smash 4 emoji after I posted it.He was just making a pun because Sona (LoL) is one letter away from Sora
this comment was unnecessary and a bit mean spirited
Neither does:Plus, Phoenix Wright doesn't have that feeling that spells out Smash Bros. Again: Smash Bros. is for gaming's greatest characters to duke it out in the ring. A lawyer doesn't have that kind of feel.
Right, but in general there tends to be a hierarchy to how important a character is to the series. That tends to be only loosely correlated to popularity, if at all. I mean, clearly popularity isn't everything, otherwise we'd have just gotten Sakura instead of Ryu, and Makoto would be in a lot more stuff than she is.THIS says otherwise...
See, Capcom had a popularity poll, and Chun-Li was in 6th place. Who was Number 1? Sakura. I know popularity doesn't mean much, but in the words of Thorgi's Arcade, it does mean SOMETHING. Hey, on that same poll, Makoto got SECOND PLACE and she's been in only THREE STREET FIGHTER GAMES.
Eh, maybe they should, but they probably wouldn't. And in any case, if you want a change from Morrigan, I think Lilith - the clone of Morrigan - is the worst possible candidate.Yeah, about that... I honestly think that Capcom should give Morrigan a rest when it comes to Darkstalkers. Because, not only has Morrigan been the Darkstalkers representative in crossover fighting games, she's been the Darkstalkers representative in EVERYTHING. They should REALLY give Morrigan a rest and give another Darkstalkers representative to shine in a crossover fighting game, because Morrigan always steals the spotlight from every other Darkstalkers character.
How come? I don't think Nero being the protagonist of the last two games is gonna override Dante's momentum from the first three. Especially not when he's still a pretty major part of Nero's games. In terms of Devil May Cry, I think Nero would be more likely.
What, and a dog secretary does?Plus, Phoenix Wright doesn't have that feeling that spells out Smash Bros. Again: Smash Bros. is for gaming's greatest characters to duke it out in the ring. A lawyer doesn't have that kind of feel.
True, but at least those you mentioned were actually given their own moveset and were made to FEEL like they were a part of Smash. Hell, Captain Falcon had no moveset at all as he came from a racing game where all he did was sit inside his vehicle and Nintendo pulled a Jin Saotome in Marvel vs. Capcom on him. Phoenix Wright? He just does lawyer stuff. In a fighting game. He might have surprisingly fit the oddball bill for Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but NOT for Smash. i'm sorry.Neither does:
An anthropomorphic dog
A dog everyone actively hated being ridden by the duck he actively tried to have the player kill in large droves
the early Pokemon anime's version of a meme
A pair of ice-climbing siblings from a game that would have remained in absolute obscurity if not for this series
A character from a series whose inhabitants are supposed to be only a few inches tall at most
A literal plant
Or a random citizen of a nameless small-time town

I'm not a fan of minecraft and any attempt to simplify him likely would have resulted in me insulting him, so I opted not to mention him at all so as to not displease his fans lol.How could you forget a 9th grader's first time 3D modelling
