Yeah, unfortunately I can see a lot of people feeling the same way. Honestly I would just take Xemnas alone but that would probably bother people even more. It’s too bad because I love the villains of Kingdom Hearts but I don’t like Sora and he’s the only reasonable choice.
While i would personaly love this due to being a big KH fan, it wouldn't be a good ending at all for the fighter pass to hvae 2 characters from the same series in a row, especialy in the same fighter pass.
Yeah, the only way I can see people being okay with it is if Ansem or Xemnas were the extra bonus fighter. That way people don’t feel cheated if they aren’t fans of Kingdom Hearts.
I didn't know that this was also a crossover with Civilization. Civilization confirmed for Smash.
While I'd prefer no double dipping for the final two due to variety reasons, I'd certainly be interested. Not only since Sora and Ansem / Xemnas would play pretty differently from each other (even Xermnas who does a lot of the same flippy **** * as Sora would presumably have a lot more focus on lasers, grabs and afterimages), but also since there'd be ample opportunities to post copious amounts of "DARKNESS" or "NOTHINGNESS IIIIIIS EEEETEERNAAAAL" jokes.
I think Fire Emblem Heroes recently had a steampunk-like story event.
Man, why do so many of my favorite characters have to be villains lol.
One of Bungie’s core design philosophies for Halo was designing it around the triangle of guns, grenades & melee. I’d love to see how Sakurai would interpret that in Smash. If he follows that design philosophy, Chief could end up as a really fun Smash character!
That’d be very odd, I’d much rather have Riku or best guy, Axel, as a second KH rep though.
I’d be so extremely excited to be completely honest. I really really like Xemnas (Ansem less so bit he’s cool too.) My favourite KH character is Sora (and Namine) and I’m an enormous KH fan so while I’d be very happy with Xemnas on his own, getting him alongside Sora would be very nice.
I don't think that ending on 2 characters from the same series would be a great idea. I know that Kingdom hearts is a huge franchise and have a lot of potential for music, stages and spirits, but I don't see the point of having 2 Kingdom hearts spirit boards, 2 stages and 2 pack of music. Like others have said, I'd rather have vilains or secondary characters as bonus after the fighter pass.
He’s my favorite too. I think it’s probably a combination of his cool hairstyle and awesome white coat that makes me love his design so much. I’ve even been considering buying a sweatshirt with Xemnas’ coat pattern recently lol.

Id be annoyed if it was just Xmenas but Id be ok with it. Xemnas with Sora is just a bonus
Yeah, specifically their interpretation of Niðavellir, the realm of the dwarves from Norse mythology. Steampunk and magitek.
Awakening was also considered to be set in the modern day, though they scrapped that idea.
I think if we got 20 bonus characters from Square Enix none of them would be Xenmas.
Interesting, but that could cause problems with multiple players playing the same character (especially if the only differences between alternate costumes are color schemes, which won't show in black shadow form).
Eh, I'd prefer Master Xehanort or Braig as the second KH guy.

Yeah, you’re probably right about that. Sadly Xemnas might be the most likely of all my favorite Square-Enix characters. I’d also love to see Magus, Frog, Ayla, Vincent Valentine, Lulu, Auron, Dagger, Amarant, Freya, H’aanit, Raziel, Kain, Nel Zelpher, Albel Nox, Jade, or Red but I’m pretty sure their chances are even worse than a second Kingdom Hearts character lol.
lol you definitely have a type. Vincent is definitely more likely than Xenmas, but the chances are so low either way it's pointless to nitpick.
On the plus side, Sephiroth was in my top three favorite Square-Enix characters along with Magus and Xemnas so I’m really thankful I got him.
That gives me an idea for a fun topic: Rider characters.
Don’t forget Nia and Dromarch from Xenoblade 2. Nia was my favorite character from that game and I’d love to see her in Smash. Death Knight Arthas from Warcraft would also make for a really cool rider character. I could also totally see Meowth as a machine rider if they are referencing the anime. I would also love to see a Dixie Kong moveset utilizing the animal buddies which would technically make her a rider character.
I'd rather have Xenmas alone, but that's mostly because I like Kingdom hearts game, but I hate Sora as a character.
I would like either Mach rider or Excitebiker (both would ride motorbike). I think Excitebike is way more popular overall, but I personally prefer Mach rider for their design and because I think there's more moveset potential with the gun and the chain.
Plus, I once suggested Mach Rider as a potential retro-and-surprise pick for the roster. :D

Don't Banjo & Kazooie and Duckhunt Dog both count as Riders? Banjo (and the Dog) are the primary fighters and modes of transportation while Kazooie (and Duck) are riding on them in some way (Kazooie in a backpack and the Duck on the Dog's back). They're basically just used for Specials or Smash attacks, but its mostly the 'ride' that does everything else.

I'd be equally disappointed with both since I don't like Kingdom Hearts.
That is what I was thinking. Hopefully, something happens soon in terms of Directs.
If you don’t like Kingdom Hearts, I’m pretty sure you’d rather have one character you don’t want than two
