. . . I'm going to pretend I don't know the source of this image. I'm not even 100% i know what this is. But I don't want to know if i'm right.
If we are talking about the character that was hinted through tweets then no we can't.

K rool seems like a character that would win the ballot. Isaac is not a character that would "get in eventually." (unfortunately)

If we're talking next character in general assuming the tweets are crap then remove Isaac and maybe we can agree.

Why the hate on Isaac? He's a first party character, a potential newcomer since he was in Brawl as an AT just like Little Mac and the hype would be as big as if it was any of the other three, also he was getting lots of votes in the ballot.

Does anyone have experience with past 4 hour long maintenances? That seems a like a long time, some major system update and what else?

I'm a huge GS and Isaac fan, and I agree. Isaac is not a character who would "get in eventually." If we get an announcement of GS4, then he's probably in. But saying Isaac isn't a character who'd "get in eventually" is NOT hating on the character. Sheesh. I totally contest Isaac being on that list as well.


Dixie is iffy, but she's arguably a character who would get in eventually. If not as DLC, she's back in DKC now and she'll be a prime candidate for the next Smash title. Isaac only works if he gets another game. Granted, I think he will, but that's besides the point.

I don't hate Isaac (hence the unfortunately)
it's just as you said. Goldensun needs a new game. A future is one of the things the dev team looks towards. Goldensun is looking like it doesn't have one for the time being.

So right now Isaac is a character who has middling popularity in Japan (although I can't trust source's poll as much as I love them) and isn't exactly the top everywhere else.

I can't see him being chosen over other characters and he certainly isn't a future shoo-in like Dixie/inklings/arguably K rool

Most maintenances for smaller things are only about 1-1.5 hours. They also had another maintenance which took down the eShop last week as well, likely meaning they're putting a lot of things together for an upcoming update to their architecture.

It wasn't mentioned in the patch notes, but do recall, they have recurring content additions. These additions seem to be once weekly, and each patch adds new content that they can slowly release. Playable Octolings will probably be in the patch, even if they're not released immediately.

Keep in mind, the status update they gave is only patch notes, no actual content updates were revealed in it. That will probably come later.

I think Isaac could still be 100% Venus and be exclusive to GS1, honestly. There's definitely plenty of room for that. Perhaps Felix could focus more on Unleashes than Isaac.


Though honestly, I don't really see it happening. Felix would be a semiclone at best if he ever managed to get in. He could have a few alterations, such as using a different Final Smash, and using GS2-exclusive stuff.

I probably wish for too much, but I'd like 3 more veterans and 3 newcomers, preferably 1-2 of them being 3rd party/indie.

And if those exact numbers were to happen then I'd like Ivy, Squirt and Wolfy to be the veterans. They can't be too hard to bring back. ^.^ The first two may not be as highly requested, but thier unique movesets and them being recognisable Pokemon will make them sell well.

In regards to the future of Golden Sun I think it's important to note that it isn't in the same position as a franchise like say F-Zero or Kid Icarus. (games that are developed by Nintendo) Since it's developed by Camelot and right now is their only original IP, it's going to be their personal baby.

Nintendo is a big developing house and it always has a lot on it's plate (and it's in charge of so many IPs), it wouldn't be unusual for their smaller franchises to disappear for 10/20 years before reappearing. On the other hand Camelot has an invested interest in Golden Sun.

Also it should be obvious but Camelot is a smaller developing house than Nintendo, they can't really afford to be chugging out a new Golden Sun every 3-4 years. (Especially when they have other responsibilities) It seems like that's something some people are willfully ignorant of when they say Golden Sun is a dead franchise.

The way the announcements are starting to come out I get the feeling Smash will have no news. What are they gonna do, tweet out the next character reveal video? At this rate one day I'll randomly be on For Glory and run into the next DLC character who I missed because they were officially announced on Nintendo's google+.

I've suggested this much in the past but I really don't believe Smash is in need of hyping up a newcomer. News travels incredibly fast on the internet. All they need to do is throw out a trailer for a newcomer and it'd most likely have a million views within the first few days. Even the Mario Maker stage they threw out generated a surprising amount of buzz. Even if that might not do much in terms of the whole hype perception, announcing a newcomer for Smash is painfully easy.

Other than what Roger said, I'm not believing in these leaks and rumors that all the other people on twitter are making, there's little to no evidence that's been presented, these kind of leaks are stupidly easy to make, and they don't specify whom the character is, so they have a "get out of jail free" card in case it isn't who they guessed. I'm not going to get invested in something that won't show even the slightest smidgen of effort, I don't recall any of them even trying to show any evidence or proof whatsoever. The leaks very well could be true, but I wouldn't bet on it, and I don't see any reasons why I should believe them other than their sheer numbers.
