Pakman, in reality that seems doubtful. As far as I know, alcohol is a depressant which causes neurons to hyperpolarize more so than normal, making it more difficult to repolarize and create an action potential in the neuron. The slower the rate of neuronal firing, the slower your reaction time and overall thinking speed becomes.
The only positive effect I can think of is that alcohol reduces your inhibitions which could cause you to relax and not feel as under pressure while playing. This COULD be posible I suppose. I believe alcohol effects your frontal lobe executive processes before noticible decrease occurs in any reaction time.
Other than that, I can't imagine it being so good for you, from a strictly biological standpoint.
