That's it. However it doesn't seem to imply a series-wide medley, so far. There was a remix/mashup of Bonus Room Blitz and Simian Segue during the direct, but I don't know if that's what they're talking about or not.
Oh, I thought a new song just dropped or something. There was a remix/mashup of Bonus Room Blitz and Simian Segue during the direct, but I don't know if that's what they're talking about or not.
This is what I was thinking of. Afterwards some of the users began talking about other pieces of music, which I believe confused me into thinking that all of them had been remastered as well. Thanks for clarifying this. That's it. However it doesn't seem to imply a series-wide medley, so far.
The one that plays during the item montage in the latest Smash Bros. direct.Wait, what DKC medley?
No need to be sorry about the moveset thing. We're all here to show our support for Dixie in smash, and there are many ways to do that. As you mentioned, there already some great movesets in the original post anyway. And I think Sakurai himself could make a great moveset for Dixie if he wanted to.Also, sorry if I don't have much to contribute in terms of what I think could work as Dixie's moveset; many of you have come up with ideas that blow anything I could come up with out of the water.
Yeah, I do too. They're both pretty great. I haven't been a DKC fan for THAT long, but it's probably become my favorite series.it seems I have a true soft spot for both Diddy and Dixie Kong, given how nostalgic I am towards DKC2 (what, with it being a game I regularly played when I was 4/5 years old.)
I'm hoping this is finally Dixie's time to twirl her way into battle. She deserves it, and has deserved it for a long time. All I know for certain is that I want to see Diddy and Dixie smash it up together in Ultimate. Breaks my heart a bit to imagine Dixie having to wait it out on the sidelines and watch Diddy have all the fun.
You could hear a "dkc medley" in the smashWait, what DKC medley?
Thank you very much, Ghostwolf35! It's always nice to be given such a warm welcome.Welcome, Wyvern 0m3g4 ! Hope you enjoy yourself here.
Much appreciated there as well. Closest thing I could think of when it comes to showing my enthusiasm is probably doing what I do best; making various kinds of art, no matter what form they may take. I'd love to take a crack at drawing Dixie for the fun of it all, but I'm still grappling with my lack of skill and my perfectionist behavior; two things that seem to constantly get in my way. Hopefully some day I'll go "the heck with it" and try and draw the best picture I can make. If I'm happy enough with how it turns out, I wouldn't mind sharing it here as well. Though I wouldn't expect this sort of thing to happen anytime soon. Not like I have as much time as I'd like to sit around and draw all day.No need to be sorry about the moveset thing. Wait, they’ve shown some of his alts already?I'm pretty sure Dixie is happening, if they wanted to deconfirm her, they just would have shown the Diddy's pink alt. But they didn't.
They've shown a couple off in his fighter section on the site.Wait, they’ve shown some of his alts already?
yeah speaking of this, i find it really strange that Smash's first DK assist trophy is a Klaptrap and not an animal buddy. Since we haven't seen Diddy's FS and Dixie isn't confirmed, I wonder if animal buddies could be a part of either of their Final Smashes?Klaptrap was shown as an AT. Dixie was not.
Where do I find this poll? Is this on Twitter? Because I don't have a Twitter account, so presumably I can't vote.Let's go ahead and fire up those engines for the Dixie hype train! Unofficial yes but this is our time to make some noise and show we mean business. I already casted my vote. I think we should be as vocal as possible on every poll we can find. Again even if her fate was already decided for the base game there is always a chance for DLC and if the devs of Smash see she's always standing near the top in every poll they look at then they might address it. If I have to wait another 8 years to play as Dixie then so be it but she will get in Smash one way or another. If the King can do it so can Dixie! #DKDOUBLE #TEAMDK

I don't believe we can take that as a hint of anything, really. Many attacks have not been shown and to weigh in on this one is just pointless to be honest. There’s just a few of suspicious things that individually seem insignificant, but taken together suggest Dixie is going to be playable:
- Diddy’s tail move has not been shown. Even if he still has it, it has not been shown at all.
No, we saw his gentleman, which was also in Smash 4. We're not sure about the tail attack.Diddy's tail attack was in his basic combo. We saw his basic combo, so yeah, we're sure that it's gone. And honestly, i think that this is the biggest hint that we have. At the moment i saw Diddy's basic combo, i was convinced about Dixie's inclusion as an echo.
The gentleman and the tail attack have most likely been separated. It used to auto-transition like Falcon's did in Melee and Brawl, but it's most likely been changed to be a separate input like Falcon's was in Smash 4. There is no definitive evidence that the attack is gone, and it probably isn't. Having rapid jabs and gentlemen be separate is a good idea to improve a jab's usefulness.Diddy's tail attack was in his basic combo. We saw his basic combo, so yeah, we're sure that it's gone. A jab combo which has a single final hit that launches. It comes from Falcon's knee strike combo. Can't remember the origin of the name. Diddy's gentleman is a double chop followed by a mule kick. It used to then transition into his tail rapid jab. The mule kick now launches and stops the move, leading us to believe that you can pick the kick or the rapid and not have to perform both, like Pit, Corrin, Falcon, Robin etc. What is a "gentleman"? that's an odd term I've never heard before

To be honest there's already been characters that got into Smash with a far less impressive resume than Dixie Kong. See: Ness, Lucas, Palutena, Dark Pit, Captain Falcon, Zero Suit Samus, most of the Fire Emblem cast, Shulk... Nothing against them of course, but it does make me wonder why Dixie is still not in.I know this is gonna sound petty as all hell BUTTTTT if Dixie doesn't make it into this game even as an echo but freaking Daisy did of all characters I'm gonna be a little miffed...don't get me wrong I'm happy that Daisy's small but loud (like the character herself) fanbase got their character in but it would just feel wrong that one of the MAIN characters from a highly regarded Nintendo franchise and Nintendo's 2nd female heroin (behind Samus herself) got the shaft yet again...but spin-off fodder made it.
The only upside is if she doesn't appear in the base game as an assist trophy, part of Diddy's new final smash, or an echo. She has the potential to join as DLC as AT LEAST a semi-clone.
Voted. Did this fanpage find a way to segregate IPs to avoid multiple votes like to official ballot did? Otherwise the data is going to be horribly skewed and probably not even worth looking at. One person with too much time on their hands could vote Shrek 300 times.
As long as it's treated as a single entity, it shouldn't be any more difficult than anything else. On the other hand, if you wanted each individual hair to act realistically, that would be much more difficult. I doubt there would be any need to go that way with Dixie, though.I've been thinking, I don't know much about game design and animation, but how technically difficult is it to animate hair? I know there's plenty of characters out there that have similar properties, like Shantae, but are there any other characters whose hair has been animated in the sort-of 3D style that Smash has? As in, allowing the player to control it to attack, perhaps grab, etc.
While it's nice to see her mentioned, even if it's as an echo, it's bizarre he would mention Tom Nook since he's still in Villager's final smash.Interesteting Tweet from Loz18:

For anyone unfamiliar with Loz18, he's leaked a lot of stuff that's turned out to be true over on the Gamefaqs forums. He recently closed his account there and made a Twitter account. Any speculation of Dixie from someone with inside knowledge is promising...

The jab in his trailer is his jab without the tail attack. He used to do three hits and then the rapid jab, now probably he just does three hits OR two hits plus the rapid. Aka like Duck Hunt. He's never had a proper gentleman until now, the game always forced the tail transition, we theorize that it no longer does this.Talking about Diddy's gentleman... It's sure that he got it in SmashU? I tried yesterday but I couldn't, tail combo every time. I play as C. Falcon and Duck Hunt, they got the gentleman, it's a familiar move to me, but with Diddy nothing happened, the tail jab as usual. I'm pretty sure that the jab in his trailer is something new.
Yes, but this is likely the result of the moves being split in two. Think Captain Falcon. He used to do Punch-punch-knee-punch combo. Now he can do punch-punch-knee and then STOP which is good because it has knock back, or punch-punch-punch combo-finisher. The same could have very well happened to Diddy. Whether the gentleman hit looks different or not is irrelevant, the main thing is:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HQM839wnX3g
Here is a video of Diddy performing a gentleman in smash 4. However it's not like a traditional gentleman because the third hit doesn't launch. It's more like just stopping the move before the tail attack comes out. The jab combo that was shown in his ultimate trailer was totally different.
