Playing IC can make you highly suspected in some eyes, and seeing how you have just stated
"I'm the most experienced player in a roster with a lot of relatively new players" means you know (if you are actually mafia) can play most of them like fiddles.

I've also openly announced that my "instruction" post could be regarded as manipulative and actively encourage people to question my stances and motives. That's pretty much all you can ask of me. I will not hold back in using my voice just because of that.

Gheb: Why are you playing IC? It looks like you're trying to set yourself up as town leader, for all that you're advising people not to sheep. Also, I (smarg) wholeheartedly disagree that cases are always scummy. They certainly can be scummy, but a well-phrased, well thought out case isn't. It's when you try to make it look like more than it is or use bad logic that the case is scummy.

Without cases, how do you persuade everyone else that the person you find scummy is scum? What distinguishes a case from a post pointing out a scumslip? I'd argue that's just a mini-case.

As for the second one [I read your ebwop]: I'm not questioning my own intuition. But at the same time it would be hypocritical to not ask *other* players to question it. I *did* play the IC after all so I'd tell people only half the truth if I implied that my opinions are infallible. That's pretty absurd.

[/B]I find it weird how people have such a positive / indifferent stance on bigger cases and on how they're useful to find scum when I *know* they are not needed at all as I've never used them myself after becoming a "good" player.

I'm going to stand to my points and will continue to think of large cases as anti-town behavior.

Your folly is simply this: you are trying to state you are IC'ing, (which you are) but as radical has just pointed out, you aren't even scumhunting.

There's a difference between "not hunting" scum - which is way too early an accusation right now anyway - and "not having any fruitful results after mainly talking back and forth with the same player 4 hours into the game".

Some people have not even posted at all and very few have actually posted something substantial. To what extent have other people - including yourself - been hunting scum? I could go ahead and tell you that I find JTB's weak stances to be the most suspicious thing so far but with half of the game's players having said absolutely nothing it's pretty hard to contextualize this piece of information at the moment.

I was lurking because there was no actual content to comment on. We’ve just started the game, and other people are struggling to contribute because of your incessant questioning. It’s cool that you’re eager to play, but you need to talk less and give other people a chance to jump in and give their say.

Skim harder, please? Both of your questions require me to restate things that I've been pretty vocal about; especially your question regarding soup.
And your reasoning for lurking is crap as is your attempt to nudge Soup. There was plenty of content to comment on, otherwise there would've no way for soup to even give us that many stances [which you also try to discourage for some reason].

Better question: does it even matter if he is only allowed to post pictures or not? As long as he can make his points clear and take stances let him post however he feels like.
What good will speculating about his role do? If his role was revealed that'd help mafia more than town. Just let him do his thing, if he's not suspicious it's fine.
