come on, how shall I deal with bananas
I really cant handle with them
I cant use tornado to spam back
I cant attack the diddy

before some minutes I played a ****ing banana spamming diddy
he spammed them all the time
if I attacked him form upwards, he shielded me and attacked back
and I couldnt come from the site

in the times, where he hadnt got a banana on the field, I made 50+ damage
but everytime, when he had got bananas I had got no chance
I had to camp a long time of the match, because I couldnt go to the diddy

tell me, how can I beat this ****ing spammer creature

I rly think, he is MKs hardest matchup, because I know another diddy player, who dont gets 50 + damage, if there are no bananas, but the diddy player, I played today, only could spam, nothing else

Catch bananas and glide toss them back naturally. MK has glidetoss combos too.

SH aerials can probably pick up Bananas right from the ground too. I know Ganondorf's autocanceled D-air does this, so I bet MK has his own tricks for that too.

There is nothing you can do (seriously) besides getting more experience with this matchup, do not spam or you will be two stocked. Knowing when to go aggressive and passively aggressive is the key, if you play defensive consider yourself losing. You're faster than him so go after the nanerz but do not dash attack them blindly as smart diddy kongs will lure dumb players into picking it up and then being punished. You have to keep on his ***, but not too much. When he has a banana close by approach WITH CARE, and watch what he's doing. You have to pay attention very closely to his every move. Oh yeah, get him offstage because the only reason IMO this matchup is in mks favor is because of the gimping possibilities that meta has on diddy. Good luck, I gaurantee metas who dont know the matchup will comment on here, so dont listen to them unless you feel its good advice. Glide tossing isn't always the best answer, but learn to use it.

btw you cant spam bananas, and no, falco/snake are metas hardest mtachups you just have no friggin clue how to deal with the bananas because good diddys are rare and diddy is the most technical character in brawl so there are many options to defeating an opponent even if he knows te matchup well.

and bananas are a huge part of diddys game. ALL diddys that you meet will spam bananas. i'd say the best way to approach is to pick up the banana and spam it back

Don't say spamming bananas. It's hurtful. If you say that, we'll be allowed to say that Metaknight's spam attacks. Reason: both moves are the most important part of the character's game.

Anyway, when fighting Diddy, remember this:


1) He can't trip you in the air. Stay there.

2) He's an average or sub-par fighter without bananas. There's not much he can do without them.

3) Read his movements. If you know when he'll throw the banana, you can catch it.

4) Mess up Diddy's momentum, mess him up.

...That's about it.

When I played "No items, Final Destination" style all the time, I had a hard time catching and utilizing the bananas, but the occasional friendly with items on helped my game tremendously here.

All you can do is get better at using bananas and working your way around them. This match-up is often DEMORALIZING if you've never fought a decent Diddy before, but keep at it and it'll become easier.

MK has a terrific glide toss. Learn its timing and distance, as glide tossing will open up a lot of possibilities.

Wow, way to totally misunderstand my point. I said playing with items helps you learn how to time the grabs and work around bananas. Learn to read.

he takes the most tech skill in brawl so that won't do anything, and if you are losing to a scrub diddy then good luck when you face an actually good one

bananas are what make diddy as good as he is. They are simply amazing weapons. Characters with reflectors can turn bananas to their side, but MK doesnt have one. This is a tricky fight, try to be on the ground as little as possible, since that is banana badlands.

In order to have a chance at beating Diddy you need to know how to use the bananas themselves. Play as Diddy for a while, learn how to manage them and then switch back to MK. You'll be able to fight back.

The best virtue in this match up is patience. The more patient you are, the easier this match up will be. Try to evaluate patters with where the bananas are being used and thrown at you, and abuse them once you find that pattern. Also, stay in the air, and use tactics like Dair camping.

this matchup is pretty difficult. shielding a banana then jumping out of shield, use z to catch the banana midair. this is a good way to throw off a diddy players banana game. and metaknight has a great dash attack, use it to grab his bananas and use rising dairs to keep to the air so you wont get banana combo'd

I don't throw bananas back; I either throw them off the stage or behind me and guard him from getting to them. His bananas interfere with your game too much even when you have them on your side, so I find it better to just get rid of them entirely and force him to play my game.

How can bananas interfere with your gameplay when they are on your side? All they could possibly do when they are under your control is trip your opponent. If your opponent is on the ground, you have a shot at a free attack (definitely not something that is detrimental to your game).

Because you're doing something outside of your normal gameplan. If you grab a banana then that's time you're spending focusing on the banana and not on Diddy. It's not a direct interference like you're thinking, it just makes you do something different than kill Diddy which is what I was referring to by 'interferes with your game.'

Glide attack/Dsmash can work pretty well if they don't expect it. Otherwise FF Nair or SHAD to pick up the bananas and get back at him. Dair works wonders against Diddy as well. Also, I'm not sure, but I believe the Drill Rush goes over the bananas.
