EDIT: my bad, ilooked at the guy above me. my apologies GreenKirby

wow, alotta posts

Edit: Lol, i wanted to get 3000 so i could feel special X_x

As for the actual thread, Diddy is a cool character, but personally, I couldn't imagine the moveset for him, so idk how he'll be included. If he isincluded though i likely won't ever play him =/
Diddy Kong was about the only part of Donkey Kong 64 that I did not despise. In that game, Diddy had some of the coolest abilites ever: from his oroange grenades, to his peanut psitols, his cartwheel of death, his electric guitar super attack and (most importantly) his jet pack. Trust me, there is more than enough inspiration for Sakurai and his team to draw upon when designing Diddy's moveset.

Come on, Diddy fans! Ridley's thread has grown larger than Diddy's! Are we just going to take that lying down?!?!

hell no i aint letting the Ridley thread own this one. Ridley is kinda cool and all but its props to the Didmeister for me. only reason its so high anyway is cuz of me flaming 2 n00bs in under 24 hours. (someone please tell me Diddy is deserving so ican flame you for 10 pages and boost us even further lol). anyways Diddy BY FAR the coolest kong in DK64. Donkey and Chunky tied for 2nd. but still i dont think the game is as bad as you say, Wiseguy. i hated the cheezy/cartoony-ness and random burps and fart noises but it still kinda held true to the traditional DKC style while throwing in some Zelda-like aspects and well (i.e. large scale exploration and puzzle-solving). the multiplayer (not the arena one) was awesome in my opinion. and the graphics were completely sexy for the N64 at the time too.

La di da~

Neutral B: Diddy takes out two peanut guns, and fires them both, sending two peanuts to shoot out. The two peanuts are fairly slow, traveling only a bit faster than Mario’s fireball. They spin while they are moving, and don’t bounce off surfaces. Their direction, much like Link’s boomerang, can be shifted but only a tiny bit. They travel about as far as a laser shot, before disappearing.

Forward B: Diddy performs a cartwheel, damaging any opponent that gets in his way. The move starts out quickly, but lags a bit at the end. It can pass through smaller projectiles, but can be hit by something large, such as Samus’s fully charged shot. Oddly, the cartwheel can climb up vertical surfaces instead of stopping when it rolls.

Up B: Diddy uses his jetpacks, which grants him about 2 seconds of maneuverability in the air. The jets send out a stream of fire, which can damage opponents if to close. As long as the player holds B, the jets will keep flying up, but if released, Diddy will start to drop. This doesn’t mean Diddy loses the jets though, and he keeps them out until the 2 seconds are up. Because of this, Diddy loses his most of his attacking options, but if near the ground, the player can press B quickly, to spread fire around.

Down B: Diddy pulls out a banana item, similar to how Peach gets turnips. The bananas are basically the same as the new Banana peel item, except they cause more damage if a enemy is hit by them, as there is actually a banana inside them. When they hit the ground though, the banana squishes, and the peel is still there, which an enemy can slip on.

Final Smash: Diddy gets into his jet plane from Diddy Kong Racers. In this form, Diddy has flight, and receives no knock back, but can still be damaged. The control stick controls where he flies, and the A button causes him to drop banana peels directly below him. The B button lets Diddy fire missiles, and can be charged. Once a charge is released, instead of a giant missile, a large spray of missiles shoot out. To sum it up, the longer the charge, the more missiles all at once. The missiles track opponents, but do so poorly.

There were aspects of DK64 that I liked (the VS. battle mode, for example I thought was a blast) but I found the single player adventure to be about 80% collectathon. Collect all the golden bannanas, collect all the bananna coins, collect all the red bananas, all the blue bananas, the green bananas, ect, ect, ect. No thanks Rare. I'd rather not pay money to do work.

Great job. This is almost exactly what I had in mind, except that I think Diddy's Final Smash should be his electric guitar.

Well the plane thing seemed like something only Diddy could do, as something like a arwing seems a bit to akward to control right there. The guitar would have just been a move that makes a energy field that pulses out from Diddy, which other characters will probably have. =/

your moveset rocks. only problem...the forward+B. most people (DK64 players for the most part) would put chimpy charge as forward+B. kinda similar to pikachu's forward B in melee. the cartwheel would most likey be a running A attack like in DK64/classic DKC style. apart from that, excellent job. some people also said "simian spring" for down+B except more like a downward-pointing tail attack like links down+air or maybe a spike. personally i agree more with your down+B though.

No thanks Rare. I'd rather not pay money to do work.

I know, the Chimpy Charge is what most people want, but when I make a moveset, I stress originality. The cartwheel at least has some things going for it, which makes it unique. I tried thinking of a way to make Chimpy Charge original, but I couldn't.

i agree. its far from original. but if cartwheel is for forward+B, whatll be for forward+A (tilting and running)

I was thinking of another final smash:

Jetpack Blaster

Diddy can temporarily fly using a jetpack and can push B to fire homing peanuts that can KO an opponent in one hit.

Well it wouldn't be chargible, so no. It's just retooled for that setting. But yes, I like B moves to be original.
i agree. chargible chimpy charge (dont say it 3 times fast) might kill Diddy's speedy gameplay. retooled is a funny *** word. and B moves for originality makes perfect sense

ah man, i missed the 3000th reply/post! the potter book got me. well i'm finished with it so i have more time to reply on the boards.

but finally we got past that mark, and it seems more movesets have been created for our monkey friend.

so really all i can say is...Diddy for Brawl

I doubt it. I'm wondering if Diddy will be an unlockable...don't you think? Maybe not. If he is, though...don't count on seeing him. I think Dedede is in the same boat. So, just look forward to seeing a lot of veterans updates.

well, yeah veteran updates will come first. and i feel diddy would be unlockable anyway.

still, waitin for the day...
i would guess unlockable. id prefer not but it might be better to excite fans (and fanboys alike) everytime a perfectly recognizable silhouette stating "new challenger" pops up

I'm all for Diddy. *see sig and avi* I always think he owned in DK64 and all his other games. I hope to join this alliance and be excepted well.
w3rd. been a die-hard Diddy (youd notice had i not only recently changed my avatar) fan since DKL on the GameBoy. and yes DIddy was THE BEST kong in DK64. (Chunky and DK tied for second).

^ Oh, is that Diddy poking out the top? It just looks like a hairy man with a hat. If it hadn't been for the heading I would have been truly stumped.

yeah that would be nice. only downside is there arent really any alternate costumes outside of strikers and the different colors (unless theirs another game with diddy in it that im not aware of)

the big fans of this thread don't post as often as they do in ridley. it's a shame really.

i would like alt. costumes instead of colors, but it's up to sakurai and team
Well, hey...you got Del Money up there double posting...:p

Besides, Ridley's more interesting, and even the Diddy fans post in the Ridley thread more often than here.

ya know, just for that...lol jk...but still Diddy pwnz/Ridley pwnz. and that brings up at interesting idea, what if more items from the DK series are represented in brawl...apart from those ****ing barrels *hopes to start up conversation to bring the Diddy thread back to former glory*

i would like diddy to be in it only if he had his own kind of attacks and not like DK's. I dont want another clone in the game.
