Getting shield grabbed certainly sounds fun.

Shield grabbing > both of these

If you B-reverse the grenade, you are pretty much hosed until you touch the ground. All they need to do is grab you, throw you off, and jump to avoid the grenade.

If you B-reverse the C4 and bair, all they need to do is shield grab.

Shielding > Both of these options that you must commit to if you tech jump otherwise you'd die.

Ouch, that hurt. Guess when I get my liscence I can prove it to you then.

The tech jump gives more then enough time to simply shield on reaction.

Again, it may work here and there but not all the time.

I'm going to stop arguing until you can correctly spell the word "you".

Thats pretty cool... i've been practicing teching the stage myself, but i never thought of doing a b reversal after it though..I usually only use the c4 to ledge tech when i get trapped in close recovery grabs and i'm at a high percentage where the c4 will kO me.

SuSa is correct in his statement. These movement options are sub par, and thus are great when they aren't expected. They are easily countered, when expected.

Honestly guys....How often does somebody expect you to tech jump and b reversal? I think this move can be used as a great mix up. Very effective i've been pulling it off alot more now.

Also, I hope you guys would of noticed this, but when you perform this tech if you can land safely you can grab, so shielding fails right there.

If you land safely..... they can grab you while you are still in the air.

What Ran Iji said.. sub-par option, so its good as a mixup. If it's expected or your opponent has a quick reaction time (aka: shields) - it's not too great.

you know you can just tech the corner of the stage, and it automatically ledgegrabs. just a thought, if it hasnt been mentioned already.

amazing how susa knows how punishable it is before he has even tried it in a match
I'm pretty sure he's seen a Snake player pull a grenade while falling to the ground. The general concept isn't exactly mindblowing.

I've actually used this in a match. 5 times to be precise, against 4 different players.

4/5 times, I was punished.

1 time I wasn't, simply because my opponent wasn't anywhere near my to punish.

You can do this to people with bigger hitboxs, let them hit you and both take damage, or just shield and let them take damage, Idk It depends on how you react and what character your playing that says this will be or not be effective.

Don't bother arguing with him he "knows" he's right.
He'll just keep saying the same thing and even if u do establish a point he'll just keep going with
shield grab> this tech, even know he's not right.

Ok, so I saw Jon T pull this off in a tourney match. I'm going to have to give credit where credit is due. It is counterable, but it happens a lot faster then the videos displaying it make it seem and you'd have to be a pretty quick thinker to shield grab it.

Good **** Jon.

You people are all stupid. Jont uses this consistently almost every time he techs the ledge....its very difficult to punish unless you expect him to do it EVERY TIME. Also works if someone tries to stagespike you with an attack and you can jumptech and get back safely.

And Reflex agreeing with me in this case makes Reflex a scrub as well? Correct?

Also please find me more instances that I argued with players better then myself.

Also, do tell me how you know my skill level?

EDIT:
You must also look over the countless things I've done for the community, and not just the Snake one. Should I go through all 5000 of my posts to find them and show you? The research I've done, things I've tested for others, things I've tested for the general public, theorycrafting I've done to help others, advice I've given others that has worked (mostly from theorycrafting), should I get Eazy Seph in here to tell how much I've helped him in certain matchups? Should I leave the Snake boards and watch them turn into dust again? Should I get the parts where I asked people to do things for the community (thank you Eternal Yoshi for getting the frame data <3 not only for Snake, but for Link as well. Also thank you Tub, Velox, and the other testers for helping me test things)

I'd say I'm rather useful, even if I am a scrub.

I never said you weren't helpful. I just said you were a scrub and a *******. I recall you getting in an argument with Candy a while back about the Falco grab release CG. As soon as you saw JonT's tech you pretty much treated him like he didn't know what the **** he was doing but he's like one of the best Snakes on the WC...lol

I know your skill level because i went a Palmdale bi-weekly and you were there...you were kind of cool irl i guess but on smashboards you turn into this guy with some sort of super ego who thinks he knows everything about anything.

Samuelson, no offense, but you're being a complete *******. SuSa contributes a lot to the Snake boards (and some other boards too), and most certainly more than you do. Seriously, you need to grow up. Does insulting people give you some sort of pleasure? Newsflash mate: it's the bloody internet! Frankly, if I was moderator, I'd have suspended you long ago. Lucky fo you I'm not.

tl;dr Stop insulting people for no good reason.

And as far as I can recall I'd still agree with susa on this, candy basically said it was useless and that dthrow tech chase was better, when you can CG falco AND THEN dthrow him, I respect candy a lot obviously as being a top snake but you can't just throw your own reasoning out the window because someone who's better than you at the game says something that still seems illogical to you.

Wow, a Pamdale Bi-weekly that was my first Brawl tourney and happened what, back in Nov-Dec? That is a horrible representation of my current skill.... I won't say I'm awesome - because I'm not.... but I am not as poor of a player as I was back then. I also thought MK needed to be banned back then, yet used him anyways....

Ok, I got into an argument over Candy about something that is useful. ****, I can even do it online. Offline - it won me a set, along with a crew match. I use it because it's free damage, freshens your moveset, and places your opponent in a bad position.

You can chaingrab them close to the edge of FD, then dthrow.

The fact you can do the "better" option from this means this is additional. With practice, you shouldn't be ****ing it up. You don't have to do this until 50%+ (when most people feel 1 pummel is safe to do), and you don't have to try it on every stage.

When you dthrow near the ledge, 2 of their options instantly become "you get hit off the stage". Most any Falco main will tell you thats already bad. What's worse is that it is against Snake. Setup a mine if they got knocked far, or maybe even just a c4, and edgeguard.

But I'm guessing you would rathers dthrow at the center of the stage? Right?

That's what my argument was over. The fact he was calling it useless with dthrow being the better option. I actually don't think he ever responded after I asked him what made dthrow so much superior to this? Couldn't explain himself? I at least tried to give reasons as to why the grab release CG was better.

Just because a Pro (yeah, he's one of the top Snake's in the country. I get that) says it is useless - without any other reasoning and nothing to back his saying besides his own words - does not mean it's useless.

Upon further testing, it turns out it's also not just against Falco. Theres a thread about that... found here:
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=236239

Speaking of this, Ally/Samurai stated too technical = gets *****, Candy liked it, Reflex didn't... overall I'd say mixed emotions about it.

I at least didn't troll like this:
http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=7563124&postcount=32
http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=7625727&postcount=37

Ran Iji probably stated things the best:
http://www.smashboards.com/showpost.php?p=7644307&postcount=45

I of course was being an idiot and was theorycraft shrugging it off. Which I've pretty much done to change my ways of that.

As you can see in this thread:
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=241606

Which I again stated I was wrong about this.

I don't feel the need to explain myself any further.

If you had read either of the 2 times I stated I was wrong, or if you were with me at World 1-2 when I gave him props in person for it. You wouldn't have done that.

I forgot people get all defensive for their friends, unneedingly, without knowing the entire story. My bad!!!

Also I love how the "all I do is argue with people better then myself" turned into "I remember that one time you argued with Candy over the grab release CG"

If all I do is argue, I'm sure you could site more then that one instance? Next time, try to troll me better. If you have anything more to say, send it via PM or a visitor message. If you agree with Candy, then back him up and give me reasons as to why Dthrow is better.

Now can we drop this? I don't feel like arguing at 4:30am when I have a tourney today. I'd like to be in a good mood for the tourney.

I love how Samuelson is telling us not to get emotional when he started the argument in the first place. Let's just drop it, OK? BTW, how early do you lot get up anyway? Isn't it like 6:30am where most of you live?

Wait...you're a mod and you encourage trolling?

The only times ive really seen you post have been times when you argue with ranked players. I don't really look at smashboards for tactics which is why i havn't seen any of your 'helpful' posts.

You live in Huntington Beach? Why are you so pale then?

I just haven't slept, it's 4:30 am right now.

Samuelson, do you plan on going to any tournaments in the near future? Maybe I can meet up with you at one. We can discuss things, I won't seem as large of an *** hopefully, and you'll get a more accurate view of my skill level.

@Etecoon
From my quick search, you were actually correct. But don't be that much of a smartass. :p Just makes arguments last longer. lol

EDIT:
Apparently let's continue this:

I moderate to get **** done, if they demoted me I'd just report to someone to the point of where they get annoyed or ask me to contact someone else. I felt bad contacting Panda 5 times a week for things to get done. Then another 2-3 as reminders of things he forgot to do.

You've only seen a few of my posts out of 5000? How ****ing hard do you search to find my 'bad' posts? Holy ****. Also a lot of my 'helpful' posts are actually in the character specific boards. TYVM.

I hate the beach. I like my sweatshirt. Does it really matter why I'm so ****ing pale? It doesn't bother me. It shouldn't bother you.
