I failed chem in highschool too. Never retook it. No idea how I graduated.
Lol, this was me. Chemistry was the only science I didn't do well in. I literally aced my Physical Science, and Earth Science classes without trying. Biology I think I managed to get a B with pretty minimal effort. That's really saying something about how easy those classes were, because I was an extremely lazy student. Chemistry just required more work than I was willing to put in, I guess.

Ive got 3 hours of people explaining the first 15 mins of terrible games recreated with paper. Some have terrible English too, charter sound in character instead of the K. Uuugh. This guy keeps talking about the k-key, which sounds like the japanese word for cake. Du du dummmm

Unfortunately I don't think I'll be of much assistance with high-school level Chemistry. Especially when each year you learn that the stuff you learned the year before was completely wrong and oversimplified for temporary understanding.
Lol.
This is sort of the mentality of my school, they are all : alright students here's how to do some calculations / displays in Java: Next year: Alright so basically this entire year is going to be GUI design, creating / solving problems with GUI's not at all like last year were the most you heard about a GUI was : it's a graphical interface. Luckily we all know Java so now we simply apply it all to GUI's.

Or my favorite: We give you the basic languages and keep piling on the small things like array manipulation / output control / file i/o , so that when you go into industry and find they are running on cobalt, you can apply what we taught you and pick up more languages on your own.

One of the coordinators at my school actually said that the chances we'll be coding in something like vb / php / ruby isn't that great and we are likely to have to pick up the language when we get into industry.

Also despite all this, all those courses weren't as hard as comp sci 101 for me. **** that class. **** that class hard.

Classwork #1: How to do logical maps.

Homework #1: Design a program that will accept a list of numbers, then sort for prime numbers among the list, ask the user if they want the average of all prime numbers, and then calculate the average for those selected values. Roughly paraphrasing.
Lol logical maps.

i prolly roll with xerath /zyra / kog'maw for a change of pace

going to save for xerath, the look + abilities look poppin, i'll go zyra next time

also , usually i get destroyed lol, so rolling xerath is not a bad decision

for example , last match i went mid / top with karthus and right around the end started getting hardbodied by three champions at once.
Paid them back by laying waste all over them by sneaking up mid.

Shen is amazing, definitely one of the best champions in the game atm. He can jungle or top lane, and potentially support I guess. Definitely recommend him.

You have cool AP mid choices; Xerath/Zyra/Karthus are original picks. Galio is free to use atm though, so brace yourself.

I would suggest Udyr when you decide to try out jungling. He's definitely one of the easiest champions to jungle with, and one of the most fast for clearing. Great ganks via bear stance, and he has sustain via turtle stance, so literally anyone can pick him up for jungling and do well after a couple games.

Graves is one of the best, if not the best, ranged AD carries in the game (bottom lane). He has high burst, but he also has nice damage mitigation because of his passive and his W. Graves aside, I personally like Varus for ranged AD carry choices because he has a built in mechanism (blights) that make it easy to get CS, but it also allows him to burn down tanks fairly quickly.

Obvious support champions include Soraka/Alistar, they're IMHO the best and easiest support champions to play. Later on you can try fooling around with Blitzcrank/Taric/Sona and the other various supports, but Soraka/Alistar are the easiest to start off with.

Ali, blitz, and Shen are useless to learn. They're banned every game. Better to learn someone else, so you can actually play in ranked games.

Taric/Soraka for support, udyr is a very good jungle, as is skarner.

Nautilus is a good jungle/support, although he's not an easy jungle (very slow).

He's just starting out, so he can't draft pick. There's no harm in him learning Blitz/Ali/Shen, and there's always the chance that they aren't banned once he gets around to draft play around level 25~.

@Rake - You should definitely learn how to play those champions if you get the chance to steal them once you get to draft play, they're exceptionally good when you know what you're doing.

Fat chance it'll happen, and then he'll be in a game with a champ he's uncomfortable with.

The OP champs might also make him think he's better than he really is. They compensate for some mistakes. He won't learn how to get better.

If he plays worse champs, he'll learn how to be a better player overall. The he'll face roll extra hard when he gets to play the broken champs

No one said he should primarily play those champions, but he should definitely learn those champions for when they're available. It'd be ******** not to know how to play Alistar/Blitz/Shen if and when they aren't banned, because then you're handing the opposing team a really great champion.

There's also the fact that champions are constantly patched, so there may be a chance that Alistar/Blitz/Shen become nerfed a little to the point of not being banned every game, but they are still viable in competitive play.

That still doesn't address the fact that playing op champs teaches bad habits.

He needs to learn how to play the game like a good player first.

This makes no sense.

Rake, definitely learn those champions. Blitz/Ali/Shen/Morg are all champions that everyone should know how to play in case they become available, and they're all great champions to start off with. I have no clue what BSL is talking about w.r.t. "learning how to play the game like a good player first" because frankly, I don't see how playing an OP champion teaches bad habits (this is entirely relative to the player and isn't universal. wtf?) I know players that are hovering in the 2000s that started playing with "OP champions" while said champions were OP in the meta (for a while, ezrael/shen/annie were considered top), however those players obviously have met success considering how hard it is to get to 2000+ (well, at least I consider it pretty damn hard.)

@Raziek - Oh my god...they need to buff her, seriously.

Don't listen to these scrubs. You just need to learn how to last hit and how to position in fights.

i love karthus on mid lol. I just get about 2 mana regens / health regens a build of armour and a staff and run mid till the day ends.
His lay waste is perfect for me to farm the heck out of thos scrubby minions and it pesters champs nicely, slap on requiem and suddenly champs lay in ruins before me lol.

Also i'm prolly gonna learn those champs just for the sake of knowing em.

Oh yeah for those of you who care SN = Ankhorvalin, and i am a newb so if i use words in the wrong context left me know lol

imo shen is overrated in solo queue, his winrates are sorta terrible cause so many people wreck him in lane. He's invaluable in arranged play though.

No, you broke it. Last hitting and positioning is important to every role.

:phone:
Support. (Last hitting)

And while true, most other roles also have a lot more to them than simply those two things. Jungle for sure.

It was mainly intended to provoke a reaction from you, so mission success.

Rake, definitely learn those champions.
You realize your telling the man to learn to play four different characters that play different roles sans the two support overlap before he has had a chance to figure out what he likes in the game, right? Why would you RECOMMEND that a starting player spread himself thin? This game is full of personality and you ought to find something you enjoy. Branch out and reach for the overpowered when it actually helps you to do so. You have no guarantee that any of those champions won't fall down the nerf tree before it could possibly matter for a new player.

Also, when the **** was ANNIE overpowered?
