Hey guys! So Tom and I are planning a game together. Hope you guys are ready for something awesome. After that, I'm thinking about designing another TMNT game (sequel to my BRoom game) or a Harry Potter sequel. Any thoughts on which you would prefer?

yep
hp was def town fail

noone ever listens to defenses
i wudn't say cases are scummy. Tho I do think they are a bit overrated. But they have their place. Without them how do people expect the game to progress?

Cases aren't scummy, but defenses should be listened to more. Without cases, how would you bring the attention of scummy actions to stupid people, along with bringing more unique ways of looking at things to the table.

lol smashman = scum mvp. hp mafia was pretty much tom/ronike/hando vs mafia and crazy indies

i think cases are scummy cuz i often end up thinking 'why didnt you just say that in a more concise manner' and that theyre one of the easiest ways to make anyone look scummy making me feel more manipulated than anything. i agree defenses are more important

Being a good little conformist
I will never not present a case just because some people might interpret the mere act of presenting a case as scummy. If a case is just meant to make someone look scummy you should be able to catch it, honestly.

What do you defend yourself against if no one makes a case anyway?

I don't usually make cases anymore. If it's a larger post I do it because I catch up on things or try to draw attention to things I feel have been overlooked over the course of the game and to produce fresh material for discussion.

You don't actually have to make a "case" to find scum. It usually goes step by step by pointing out little things. Longass cases are usually made by scum itself. It's also a lot better because you can defend yourself a lot more appropiately against single scumtells than a whole wall of text

i would never lynch someone based SOLELY off of flavor, which is what the d1 case on marshy was. iirc i didnt even consider it a viable lynch. (edit: yea, i actually pushed NO LYNCH on day 1 cuz i thought the lynch prospects town had narrowed it to were both town, which was truuu)

lol smashman = scum mvp. hp mafia was pretty much tom/ronike/hando vs mafia and crazy indies
yea smashman wasted the time turner. if there are two kills at night, and one is scum and one is town, by reviving them both, and lynching the scum, the town is just going to die leaving you with absolutely nothing but a used time turner. UNLESS its a worst case scenario and the mafia has a recruiter, and then they will just recruit the killed town. oh, wait, isnt that what happened?

smashman put us in a lose/epiclose situation. if he had waited til a night where 2 townies died, it would have been SO much more beneficial.

Um... I agree with Kirby King, cases are highly necessary. Without a case, what do you defend against? Marshy's "Is player X dead yet" and KevinM's "Player Y is the play" is about it. Cases make a game much more interesting.

when presented both with cases and defenses, which do you think is more useful to determine someones alignment?

@mack maine: i think people listen to defenses as long as they are not the end-of-day town-consensus claim-then-lynch bull**** we too often do.

and, do you think you more frequently find your lynch candidates based on scum tells to find the few youre okay with lynching, or by finding town tells in the many you dont want to lynch?

Much prefer to do the former, but with the influx of new players and a heavy dose of suckage from some individuals, I'm often forced to do the latter.

Even when good play is abundant, I tend to start the game looking for lynches and ending the game looking for clears. For the most part at least.

Throwing my vote with Harry Potter mafia, considering I missed the first one because I was in Europe. I had very much wanted to play that one.

Also, I have a question. How many Futurama fans do we have back here? I've been tossing around the idea of doing an "Obscure Futurama Characters" setup. But if no one's going to know who That Guy or Lee Lemon are to begin with, then there's really not much of a point.

I love futurama, but have no idea who either of those two are off the top of my head, unless that guy is the number guy.

and

If you don't recognize them now I'll be disappointed. That Guy is one of the best characters they ever had on the show, and the episode with Lee is fantastic as well.

lee lemon is only great because zapp brannigan makes him... her.... whatever... great.

that guy, however, is amazing. though i always called him eighties guy. im sure that guy was his real name. my only regret... is that.... i have boneitis.

i think my favorite obscure character is either bubblegum tate or pazuzu.

i like how rockin says "ill be in it" instead of saying "/in please" or "i would like to play it" or whatever. lol.
