I program (and design) VR games which sounds cool but it sucks LOL#HBC | ZoZo what do you do for work?
BarDulL much love buddy. I hope you consider rejoining the server. I enjoy your conversations
Interesting, I ended up choosing Emerald over Malachite precisely because I found the grayscale background less distracting than the colourful one. I'd actually prefer to have no background image at all, because an image in the background just makes websites look more cluttered at best. That's probably a matter of taste (I happen to like sleek, simplistic design), but quite often the image actually makes the website harder to read, which is exactly why Project M deserves no praise. Sure, it looks nice until you actually try to read the bluish text on a background with all the shades of blue and then you switch over to something with enough sense to have a plain background behind the text.Smashboards Dark Pink, Smashboards Cobalt, Smashboards Garnet, Smashboards Sugilite, Smashboards Emerald
These have the same theme as the previous two tiers, only the backdrop of smash characters is grayscale instead of colored in. This isn't a huge negative, but it is sort of strange on the eyes. Ironically it causes me to focus on the background when scrolling, which I would imagine is contrary to the intent. Nevertheless, each of these themes is usable, and I personally find Dark Pink pleasing. Garnet and Sugilite use a different shade of red and purple that are not as overbearing as in Ruby and Amethyst.
What's the process of a typical work day? And what aspects do you dislike?I program (and design) VR games which sounds cool but it sucks LOL
To be fair, I'm certainly not being objective. I have a bias against grayscale for things that I expect to be otherwise because it causes my brain to focus on the discrepancy. However, something I think we should both consider is adaptation. I do recall finding the normal backdrop overwhelming when it was added, but I quickly adapted and it's not at something I notice anymore. I imagine that if I used the grayscale backdrop for a while, I'd also adapt. Similarly, I did find the text in the Project M skin to be hard to distinguish at first, but after a day of using it I adapted and it's not a problem, even still when I switch to another skin for a while and return to it.Interesting, I ended up choosing Emerald over Malachite precisely because I found the grayscale background less distracting than the colourful one. Oh dang I didn’t even notice the lack of the middle i.What's the process of a typical work day? And what aspects do you dislike?
Yo Chaco I'm not Xiivi. If you have discord, we have a server up https://smashboards.com/threads/decisive-games-discord.505429/
Well of course, aesthetics are mostly a matter of personal opinion (which is why taking it ridiculously seriously is so much fun). Some objective judgement can be made, but everyone gets to pick what they like regardless of that. Adaptation is probably a factor, this gray look is quite similar to what I have Discord set to. I could probably adapt to the mild inconvenience of reading Project M and otherwise it does look quite nice, but I'm not going to put in the effort just for the nice looks. To be fair, I'm certainly not being objective. Just finished listening to this, here are my quick thoughts.I wasted too much time doing this to not cross-post it here.
I thought that was a movie camera at first. What a killer movie.
Gotta shoot the scene somehow.
What's wrong with Ruy!?!???Maaaaaaan
That's the astronaut one, right? I love it. Fully second thisHas anyone else here played the game Among Us? I've been playing it with some of my irl friends with mafia experience and its been a blast, would be fun to play with the Dgames crew in discord or something
I actually have been, it’s especially fun playing irl without typing and talking instead during the discussion times. I actually bought the Polus map before it became free for everyone, but I’ve had great experiences with it nonetheless. There are some broken strategies, sure, but I’d play it in a group if there was enough interestHas anyone else here played the game Among Us? Me Tom Mac and Marshy are like one band one sound except the only instrument we play is each other’s skin flutes.
yeah I think the game is essentially unplayable without voice comms, its way too difficult to have a meaningful discussion with such little discussion time and the general clutter of the in game chat interface. I really like how you can adjust the in game settings to rebalance things if you feel certain strategies are overcentralizingI actually have been, it’s especially fun playing irl without typing and talking instead during the discussion times. no I havent, what is it?Have you checked out Project Winter?
16 is possible. People don't like much more than 16, though.Would it be too difficult to gather 16 people for a mafia game nowadays? I'm thinking in hosting OS' Final Fantasy IV at some point
Will you ever do something akin your HxH setup again? That was one of the most creative and fun games I've played. It's an OS game so yeah
Tbh I've nothing in mind atm; I like flavor, crazy PRs, and special mechanics that give mafia games some refreshing twists. I thought at some point about a Rurouni Kenshin flavor, but as I said I would pretty much need to create something from scratchWill you ever do something akin your HxH setup again?
