I do have to say, it's not like marshy's concerns weren't justified given his record, and there's a major difference between "I'm critical of your behavior and I'm not sure you should be playing in larger games til you've shown a change" and making it personal.

Well of course there are other issues, but the repeated unbelievable toxicity and incensitivity he's shown is a signifigant contribution and it's not like I haven't addressed this before, but CERTAIN PEOPLE were like no no, he's funny, let him keep going. So I put him on ignore til I had to play with him.

I perfectly enjoy him in game and he's a pretty good player as well, but his "trolling" is utterly toxic enough to ruin the whole place.

I find it hard to say that it's not just one group of people. While Marshy was kinda being an ass to me, I can understand why. Although he and I should have been able to handle it better. The real problem is things like the AnonCo thread that everything went to hell in.

The endless egging on of people really has to stop. It's not a good community anymore and I find myself telling people that whatever they do on SWF don't come here. There's way too much **** going on for the games themselves to make up for. I've gotten tired of it, I know Zen got tired of it, and I have no doubt that anyone in the future isn't going to take this **** for long. The only reason I've stayed this long is because I enjoy the mental activity that comes with playing games.

I've been called horse****er, asked if I fap to horses, asked about random **** that has no ****ing relevance. All of this IN GAME, the fact that it's followed me even into there is just ridiculous.

This isn't a good community anymore and anyone telling themselves otherwise is either lying to themselves or just blind.

All that I know is, after G3S, I'm gone. I hate this place. I've dealt with as much **** as I can from some of these people and I'm just tired of it.

I'm leaving. After this game I'm ****ing noping out. I'm done with being the ****ing punching bag of the assholes of this community. I highlighted a couple of specific problems here, but the real issue is that DGames as a whole sticks its head in the sand when **** happens. Gorf says some stupid **** and some people enjoy his brand of trolling and join it. Someone gets offended and fights back and proceeds to get made an utter fool out of while the bullies are laughing. What's the rest of DGames doing? They're looking the other way. They're not Mods or anything. The same **** happens in games as well. I would ask, can we please stop doing that? The next time someone does something stupid, can we make sure it isn't tolerated? This might be a little odd coming from me as I used to be a major offender, but the degree to which this place has deteriorated is not okay. It's just that we all have thick skin because we play a game like mafia where we're prodded as part of a game dynamic and are used to it being used as a tool in social conversation to try to illicit reactions and conversations. When you took your garbage with the Levi account into the social thread by calling out Xonar a troll, I asked him on Skype what was going on between you guys because it seemed unwarranted. People will make pot shots on one another and can still remain on good terms if there is synergy between their personalities and they both have thick enough skin. Turning this Badwolf fiasco into a means for you to state your distaste with how our community is garbage tier to the legendary social champions you use to fraternize with in the past is just really lame and lacks the depth of actually accepting the gradual decline in internet communities is a natural fate rather than something oriented around mistakes and faults in the depth of the personalities involved in the community. I'm not even sure if the way I materialized this response is exactly how I wanted to response to it, but I barely have enough time and I'm annoyed enough that I feel that an actual response to this is warranted.

This. This is why our community sucks. No, not just sucks. Our community ****ing blows at the moment.

I'm sad to see BadWolf go, but I'm honestly surprised he's not replacing out of the game he's currently in with how horribly people have treated him both in and out of game. I won't go into it too much because it is a current game, but it's not pretty in the slightest (although it's no where near a worst case scenario). Not just this game, but it was worse in older games. BadWolf has never had it nice and dandy. He's had a pretty consistent treated like **** factor going for him from what I've seen. To have a moderator of all people try to black list him because of "inactivity" only to follow that inactivity statement with "he ****s all over his faction if he does happen to stay in the game" as if that somehow justifies anything he's saying followed by the person that calls him a PONY ****** FOR CRYING OUT LOUD defending that statement with "well, Rake plays worse than you half the time, but at least he's active"... It's disgusting. It makes me want to look at every person that may be interested in mafia here and tell them to go somewhere else, because I don't want anyone to see this embarrassment of a mafia community. Maybe it's just me, but NOTHING about this seems okay. What on earth would make me want to bring a new player into our community when this could happen to them if they just so happen to not be the best at mafia?

What happened to BadWolf is the PERFECT example of why our community is ****. What happened to BadWolf is proof that there are multiple things we need to fix within our community.

I apologize if I've ever treated you poorly in game BadWolf, and I hope you can forgive me and the rest of this community eventually. You're a really cool dude and I'd like to see you come back for some games after we've weaved out a lot of the negativity in our community.

You're missing the point.

I think we can all agree that the DGames community is really close. Soup is a great guy, and I would do anything within my power to make sure he's okay as I would for anyone else within DGames because I love you guys. DGames has some of the most amazing personalities I've ever seen within a group of people, and I'm really grateful to have friends that have originated from this board. They've taught me a lot and they've made me a stronger person and a better individual.

That has NOTHING to do with anything I've stated regarding how BadWolf was treated. I love Gord to death. I would troll a million smash 64 boards with him and laugh more each time. He's awesome. That has NOTHING to do with how he treated BadWolf. You can't just call someone a pony ******, relate his interest to child porn, ridicule him repeatedly in game, argue to get him blacklisted, and then expect it to be peachy keen afterwards. What Gord did was literally push BadWolf out of the community. It wasn't just Gorf, but considering that he has done all of those things multiple times is a pretty big factor.

What makes this a problem with our community and not just with Gorf is that we've ALLOWED him to do this. Not because we've agreed with it, but because we just didn't say anything to stop it. We didn't state that it's not okay to do that. Hell, some people even joined in on the fun and **** on BadWolf some more. This is what Ryker is trying to say. This alone shows that there is something wrong with this community. It's not the only thing we've talked about, but this is a really huge problem.

I'd be there for Gord in a heart beat in any way possible if something happened to him. I'd talk to him about how his life has been going just like old times if I actually used Facebook anymore. I'd go drinking with him if I were to see him in person. I would not argue to stop a Gord ban due to what he said about BadWolf.

I showed up and outside of Chaco calling me a ****** in game I haven't had any harassment, and I played like **** my first game. Outside of that people have generally been pretty nice. I stand by everything I said before and definitely think something needs to be done before we start to advertise, but it's not that bad.

Not literally of course, I know who you are, what your names are, I can see long archived games with your names in them; but why do you stay here. Why do you post here, specifically.

I realize of course you have friends from mafia games' past and like to talk to them, but you don't play mafia games or give anyone newer than that a chance to meet you in the way we'd meet you best: in game. I say this only because from what I've seen you both treat this like your personal Debate forum, a place to bring up either heavy or airy discussion or jump into an argument started by someone else. Yes it's a social thread, people are social in it. But at what point do we draw the line between this place being a thread to shoot the breeze about mafia with the people you just finished your game with or let people know you won't be posting in them for awhile, and a place to draw out a lengthy discussion about objectification in video games etc.

What stake could you possibly have in these discussions that extends beyond this exact thread or entirely theoretical mental exercises.

Especially you Acrostic. If you feel like natural decline is a foregone conclusion in online forums, why are you here. The Dgames as a whole you were an active part in is dead, so either you're going to do something to reform it and bring some life back so that you'd like to play or... sit here and waste space for the majority of people who have never gotten a chance to know you? No response from you on this topic was ever was warranted, that would imply you had a direct stake on the state of actual Mafia games or their attractiveness to newcomers.

joey, i don't think we're reading the same game lol. i looked over gheb's game after reading this post, but i don't feel that what's ongoing in the game is good enough substantiation to warrant the most recent emotionally charged reaction from badwolf...wtf? feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but this seems a bit overblown.

Bardull, that mentality is a lot of the problem. We've drilled "be thick skinned" to a point where we are ignoring things we shouldn't. If my son was treated like Badwolf was in a public school environment, the suspension for hitting the other boy would be a vacation, not a punishment.

For the record, I did figure out who you were. Alt suspicion during a time they were mostly tolerated stopped a lot of people from jumping on you.

And either way, it's because we target a certain kind of person, the person who will react. Those include actually new players, especially of the age variety that we can likely get to join DGames with Smash 4's launch. We all used to be 14-16 once and a lot of us were on this website then. I don't think we all would've stuck around had we joined now.
