1. Biggie à No one, even in the current game, has the flow notorious had. Even with only two albums and plenty of songs that don’t hold much value, the ones he nailed were absolutely incredible especially considering the state of genre when he was producing. Lyrics are powerful because of all the **** he’s been through, and the classic story of how rap saved his life from selling rock really drives the whole appearance home. Shit takes motivation and is hella respectable.

2. Kendrick à Current rapper who breaks the mold of rapping about slinging crack and movin cocaine. Straight up talks about real ****, especially on GKMC, that affected his childhood and impacted the highly notorious area of Compton. Metaphors. Are. On. Point. It’s ridiculous. If you’ve never rapgenius’ed one of his songs get on that shiz immediately, you won’t be disappointed.

3. Lil B à He’s my BASEDGOD (discuss in LilB post)

4. Lupe à One of the rare rappers who can pump out song that’s are radio hits but also spit amazingly real **** on the rest of his tracks. The cool is probably one of my favorite albums of all time and the story he weaves throughout the album is legendary. It doesn’t hurt that I could probably find a song of his that I could play in every situation of my life with it being socially acceptable, from raging to baby making.

5. Eminem à If any of the new white rappers out there even had one third of Eminem’s talent they’d be pretty famous (see: Yelawolf), but no one, especially in his prime, was able to push the boundaries on acceptable lyricism like Eminem did. You could see from his life’s story that he had a reason to be twisted and the way it plays out in his music is life changing. I’m not talking about the stream of hoarse-voiced BS that was relapse and recovery, im talking marshal mathers and slim shady LP. If you’ve ever listened to his song “Kim” you’ll know what I’m talking about. And yet, as his fame blossomed he was able to transition into a more meaningful and sometimes playful persona without losing his powerful “I don’t give a **** attitude” (See: Eminem Show, Encore). His race was just a cherry on top to his amazing story. 8 mile is also an amazing movie.

6. Tupac à A west coast equivalent to Biggie really, yet im from NY so I’m kinda biased. While he doesn’t quite have the same flow as Biggie does, his lyrics and metaphors are still so on point its ridiculous. He was also one of the first rappers to highly commercialize the idea of treating women correctly (see: Keep your head up). Whereas the game has a pretty misogynistic view of the women during that time, 2pac really stepped in and argued for love and peace instead of hate. I really respect that I’m sure it got him loads of **** throughout his lifetime. Guy was a maja playa

7. Tyler the Creator à He’s hilarious. To quote one of his interviews, “None of what we make has any deeper significance than face value, we’re just doing **** for fun.” Him and OFWGKTA as a group may be ignorant, but they are brutally honest that they’re ignorant and that is respectable. Listening to their music just reminds me that rap doesn’t always have to be about a message (though that often works in a rappers favor), its also just another form of expression that can be made out to be whatever the rapper wants. The fact that he’s able to profit off of it just compounds the fact that he’s able to subsist on what he loves to do, which is awesome. I

8. Wiz à I never thought Wiz would last more than a year or two but he’s surprised me by his ability to stay in the game. Everyone kind of knows his lyrical content has been going down hill since Prince of the City 2 (Kush and OJ was amazing but its arguably a stoner album), but his beats continue to remain incredible and his silky voice brings home the feel good vibe that his newer albums try to inspire. He did spit real **** in his older albums though, and I don’t view his transition into the new as that bad. He’s stepping away from substance into fluff, but damn that fluff tastes hella good (and hes making paper, clearly).

9. A$AP Rocky à Its one of those rappers you feel like you shouldn’t like but he does what he does so well that its impossible not to like him. The production skills on his album are incredible, but Rocky still manages to drive it home with his smooth voice and fairly good metaphors. Granted, some of his stuff is really simple and kinda ordinary, he still manages to make his hits really really addictive (see: goldie, peso, wild for the night, ghetto symphony, 1 train). He’s one of the few, “I’m on the streets selling drugs, bangin *******, getting money, hood rich” personas that actually works without coming across as over the top unintelligent.

10. Joey Bada$$ à At only 18 this kid is simply killing the game currently. He hasn’t even released his first studio album yet and he’s already known nationally as someone saving hip hop. While some don’t find him appealing due to the apparent simplicity of his lyrics, its really all complex metaphors and double entendres that you’d have to know about his life and Brooklyn to understand. Like for Kendrick, rap genius some of his **** and you’ll realize how masterfully he blends meaning with flow.

Back in the day, a lot of walrus. I recently quit, actually, and haven’t toked for about 2 months now. I probably will smoke again, but I’m really trying to cut down because of jobs that require drug testing and me just really trying to clear up my aesthetics for modeling (smoking sometimes gives me acne). In addition, I’ve recently been partying a lot more than before and I find that smoking in social situations often makes me think too much and awkward around women. I’ve always maintained that smoking is more of a bro bonding thing and it actually kind of turns me off when women smoke (unless they’re unlike every women I’ve every smoked with before and can actually have intelligent mind blowing conversations).

How's college?

Amazing. Going into my junior year and I’ve already had too many incredible experiences to count. Thank god I’m not going to some really bland school or commuting or else I would probably be having a really bad time. Living at school away from my family and being able to just kick it with homies my age studying something I enjoy (Economics) pleases me. Life’s good at the moment, and I just got back from my trip to Ireland and am now planning on spending next semester studying abroad in Denmark (which will be ill as fack).

All the time now that its summer. Only offline though with my friends who I mercilessly destroy. Yeah multiple times, this one dude at a club 2 weekends ago whispered in my ear that he wanted to buy me a drink and then proceeded to nibble on my earlobe before I could run the hell outta there.

I normally take it as a compliment if it doesn’t make me uncomfortable (see above), but there’s obviously a line that, if crossed, becomes way too much.

Easily. As long as you would respect my boundaries as a straight man I’m always down to kick it with homosexual men.

Do you think males can "just be friends" with a girl that they are attracted to, or does the simple fact that they are attracted to the female make it so that the friendship can't be genuine?

There’s a fine line for sure. I know from experience there’s this one girl who has been my best friend since like 5th grade and back then she wasn’t all that hot, but not she’s really blossomed into a bombshell and we’re still besties. She has a boyfriend and all but its doesn’t ruin our friendship (we hang out all the time and do **** together). Would I slam her given the opportunity? Hell yeah, but that doesn’t mean I can’t genuinely respect her boundaries as someone who is off limits and still enjoy my time with her in a friendship sort of way. I think it really depends on the person in question (is he a horny guy who only thinks about women in the sense of having sex with them, or does he value relationships with the right women more than that). I could see myself growing old with the girl I mentioned previously and see her get married and have kids n **** and still not bang her but genuinely support her interests, but that’s just me.

One of my good friends once told me that the friend zone does not actually exist. Rather, it's simply a "nice" way of a girl rejecting a guy that she doesn't have feelings for. Comment?

He’s wrong. The friendzone does exist, but it’s basically just a way of classifying guys that they feel really comfortable around and not threatened by. Whether this is someone that gay or just a really good friend that they trust, being in this zone pretty much means she doesn’t want to have sex with you because of the way she currently perceives you. However, you can exit the friend-zone once you’ve entered (you’re not permanently screwed) if you play your cards right, though it is a bit more work than it would take to bang a random girl you’ve never met before (thought probably worth it a bit more I’d say). Someone a girl being uncomfortable around you may be a good thing, as its either saying

1. She doesn’t like you/thinks your weird – bad
2. She has interest/wants to bang and thus doesn’t know how to approach you or make herself look good – good.

People tell me to just treat women like you would a male friend. While I can do this sometimes when our interest in something align, I find it other times hard because it's disingenuous. Like, I'm being asked to treat them one way which I just don't feel, if that makes sense. Advice?

Getting girls, especially hotter ones, often takes a bit of disingenuousness. That’s life. You’re probably not the Adonis that she’s looking for, but if you tell yourself you are and portray yourself with enough confidence that you are (without going overboard and thus appearing arrogant), you’ll probably still score. The trick is to never be intimidated by women. I don’t know about specifically treating them as if they were a male friend, but treating them as if they were nothing special and “just another girl” will make them want you more. It’s the basic psychology thing of the forbidden fruit à the more you ignore them, thus depriving them of the attention that they seek, they’ll want more of it. While you’ll sometimes feel like a **** or mean, trust me, as long as you don’t go overboard (being a ****), they will reciprocate by trying to get your attention. This especially works if you were previously gushing over them, to make it like a hot then cold kind of scenario in which you’ve suddenly become aloof and they have to figure out why. You every get slightly anxious when a girl doesn’t text you back, even though you know may even be doing it to get to you? Even though you tell yourself it isn’t gonna work, it always works. You start wondering why she isn’t into you and then kill yourself waiting. Like it or not that’s human nature. Women smell fear, and if you’re trying to get in their pants (which im assuming you’re asking about from this question), don’t give it to them. If this means imagining them as a male friend, do what you have to do (just make sure you still maintain class – don’t talk about disgusting **** you sometimes do with bros).

Would you consider yourself one of the best mafia players on Dgames? If so, what factors do you believe seperate you from the rest?

Yes. I believe I personally have the ability to structure arguments to convince others in the game that other dGamers don’t possess. Whether its through lack of ****s or simply bad argumentation, I think I have a pretty good idea of what objectively looks good to other people reading my words and what is the most persuasive way to word something. The thing I still need to work on are my reads which, while they’ve been getting better, sill fall very short of those coming from people like Frozenflame or Tom. For this cause alone I’ve actually stopped trying to be so forceful in my games and just let other players dictate the flow only stepping in when I feel a read has high enough probability. I’m hoping that helps improve my scumdar.

How did you get so good?

Idk I really think it was more of a natural thing. When I started out I had all these theories and **** and with time I eventually just started wittling away what was ridiculous and what worked. Though reads are important, mafia at its core is a game of argumentation and I think that’s where I excel.

What's your opinion on me as a player? What could I improve on?

The timid nature in which you post often makes you seem unsure of yourself and thus reads and thus makes others not want to follow you unless you have large amounts of evidence. Considering the questions you asked previously, I think you just need more confidence whether that be IRL or in mafia. In mafia, believe what you’re pushing even if you’re wrong but practice arguing what you truly believe to be right. If you’re wrong brush it off and learn from it, but I really think the area you need to improve on is argumentation. You’re a pretty level-headed guy and thus your reads are pretty solid but the way your formulate your thoughts doesn’t come across as someone who’s a powerhouse if you feel me.

What's your opinion on Soup as a player? J? Ryker? Ran? Swiss?

Soup: When I left he was pretty bad but apparently he’s got dice now so he’s had to have pulled off a few good performances when I was gone. I havn’t read the games so I can’t be sure but his scum performance in Hardbody was pretty average honestly, which is the only game I really have to draw from his play about. He was pretty good at making himself look innocent by apologizing and throwing out some AtE which is necessary but when people started not believing him he immediately under pressure. He has a ways to go imo

J: See above. He used to be god awful but he’s gotten a lot more level headed and better imo. If he sticks around (which I don’t think hes currently here atm), he could be one of the best.

Ryker: Hes too loud. I used to play the same way as him, always yelling down my opponent. It works, but, like me, his reads aren’t the best. Thus, if he’s town and you’re following him and he makes bad reads, scum will keep him alive and he’ll lead you to destruction. If he’s right then you win, but I don’t like working with those odds if you feel me. Needs to become more levelheaded to be one of the best. At least he gives a fluck *** tho, dgames needs more of that

Ran: I love you ran but sometimes you really anger me. I think its because you’re so nice that it comes across as disingenuous or annoying in the context of a mafia game and thus I get mad. You’re also a little inept, meaning you don’t catch onto things quickly and, being a man of argumentation myself, your persuasion skills are pretty bad. You never go right to the point and always seem to raise more questions with your posts than give answers. That’s not to say you don’t try hard, its clear that you do which I appreciate, but the rate of your improvement is not a quick as I’d like to see from someone who has had as much experience as you. If anything your town play should be your scum play (as it often distracts or muddled interactions without even your intent of doing so or making it look like it was your intention – optimal scum), and you should really focus on looking at why people are posting what they do, not exactly what they’re saying. There’s always a motive in play, and if you take the time to analyze it and respond in a concise way then you’re on the right track.

Swiss – Swisaiiiiii. Cocky but has the skills to back it up unfortunately (or else I wouldn’t let him get away with the **** he does). He blends sarcasm with cunning to really do damage. It’s rare that such a strategy works and it really seems to garner respect from the community, despite how much I was to strangle him like all the time. Hope we play soon homie

I was obsessed with smashboards through playing smash 64 and I was actually just looking for more places to post/looking to find an outside community. In retrospect, am pretty happy I stumbled across this place.

How many drinks can a Kuzi chuck before a Kuzi chucks up?

Well-hel-hel, I dunno I’ve never fully attempted to count drinks before. But I’d definitely say I could drink most anyone in dGames under the table with the exception of EE and maybe Swiss. I’d love to give either of the last 2 a run for their money, though.

Smelling blood, hounding a player for an extended period of time and watching them flip scum (after putting up a fight). Nothing more enjoyable in this lifetime.

if you could change one thing you did in a mafia game what would it be?

Shooting Gorf at the end of Donkey Kong mafia. The hydra of Me n EE basically won the game as the indy after annihilating both scum and then town respectively, and EE told me to shoot the other player in the game to seal the win but I just wanted to rub it in Gorf’s face so I shot him instead and he turned out to be BP and we went into 3 person lylo and lost. It was an easy play but I flubbed it because I was being dumb.

A quick vignette about this first song, around a year ago just as I was finishing my freshman year at College when I got a call from my mom that my 71 year old father had fallen down a flight of 20 stairs and cracked his head open, was in the emergency room and had little chance for survival. I was 18 at the time, for all intents and purposes a little kid when hearing news like that, and I lapsed into a period of depression where I lost a lot of enjoyment in life and began to go through my days as if they were routine. This song in my opinion is partially responsible for saving my life. I would play it on repeat for days (its the most played song on my itunes at over 600) and just get lost in the music so I wouldn’t have to think about real world ****. Miraculously, and because he’s a crazy mutha****er, he survived where anyone his age should have been dead (or anyone for that matter). This song helped keep me sane though the grueling weeks of not knowing +, in my opinion, channel positive energy into his recovery.

What would be an ideal world for you?

No strife, yet still controlled difficulty so it would still feel like an accomplishment to get something done. Somewhere where I could just live out my vices in a socially acceptable way for all eternity. There would also be naked women.

I don’t but hope to be good enough one day. I really like melee. I like 64s combos more than melee, though I objectively see the allure of melee being more about reads and less about combinations. Can you go into more detail about why Soup was scummy in Hardbody mafia? Specifically this:

See: GS3 mafia. The way Soup attacked you was a carbon copy of what Xonar attempted to do to Omni. Also see D.Gray man mafia. The way Inglorious ******* attacked Gorf d1/d2 was also similar.

When a players hounds another player to the point of just trying to bury him under pressure (via making him look scummy) and not actually look for town tells, he’s usually scum. I’ve used the tactic myself quite a few times and it works too because most townies often get lost in the walls and just looks for key points or other people summarizing the interaction. Its in a scums favor to act like this, as it creates clutter while also giving off the appearance that they really care/ are interesting in pushing their point which townies think scum often wont do because it garners too much attention.

Also I feel I can just read Soup super well. I’ve called him right in most of the recent games I’ve played with him.

Is it really scummy if someone isn't pushing someone?

No, but at that point in the game it was. Soup had put so much emphasis into you to make it look like he was pushing but, when he lead collapsed, he turned to defending himself instead of shrugging it off and looking for better leads. This obviously needed to happen, but he took to long and play the innocent card too much for my liking. Its situational.

I don’t like it. D1 is important for making D2 important which is obvious. I don’t really understand the following questions, but I think D2 is extremely important based on how active we’ve been D1. If there has been plenty of discussion D2 is probably the most important day cuz you can probably intelligently pin every scummer there with luck.

Tell me ONE thing I should improve on my mafia game.

Improve your common sense. Maybe it’s a language barrier, but you misunderstand or fail to interpret very simple concepts throughout games. Your incorrect reaction to these things muddies the water or slows down the gamer entirely. Also think a lot more before you post, don’t just say what’s on your mind flippantly (especially at town). Don’t clog the thread uselessly, people like me have to comb through that ****. That was more than one thing.

When (like what game) did you NOTICE that you got as good as you did? Did you get good fast, or did it happen in increments/notches?

Celebrity mafia was the first game I really impressed myself with. I put a lot and a lot of time to strategizing and thinking about my posts and it payed off, to the point where I basically crafted the script of a fake claim for one of my mates. Touhou and higurashi mafia were good performances for games as indy and as town respectively. I think there was definitely a point where I made a huge jump in skill (following Celeb mafia which all has to do with the credibility within the community I gained), but I’m still getting better every game even now.

How far do you think I have gone, and what's the next level for me?

From incredibly mediocre to just below average. I think the next level for you honestly just playing really solid games often. No superstar stuff right away, just slowly play solid and more solid until you’re making smart assessments and thoughtful posts every game. You clearly are dedicated to the game enough get good and I respect that, you just actually need to do it. Oh, and stop joining a ****load of games and getting too strung out. Just play one game and focus on really in-depth and that will highly benefit you. Have you had any supernatural experiences?

Two actually.

This one time I was tripping shrooms with some mates of mine during the summer and we were just running through a really nice golf course at around sunset (because it was freaking beautiful) and as we cleared the top of the ridge that overlooks the entire complex (highest vantage point around) we saw a family of amazingly beautiful amber colored foxes playing around like 20 feet in front of us. Foxes are kind of rare around my area so needless so say we were absolutely ecstatic but we didn’t want to scare them so we all just amazingly had the same idea to just sit down on the grass and watch them frolic. The thing was, once they noticed us, they stopped playing at just stared back at us for like a hot minute. But instead of leaving or fleeing from us they actually just sat down and had a staring contest with us for over a half hour I’d say. No one from our group said anything we were like paralyzed by the beauty of the moment. After the longest pause ever the father stood up and then, I swear to god, sort of lowered its head and its front left leg as if it was bowing to us and then they all stood up and trotted away. It’s like they knew we were in touch with nature at that moment and were connecting with us. We were all crying tears of joy that point and we all still talk about that **** to this day was incredible.

This other time, last winter, I was in Ireland seeing some friends for 2 weeks when they decided it would be a good idea to take me to a supposedly haunted poker club called Hellfire that had been abandoned in the 1600s because the devil himself had supposedly shown up one night and killed like 6 people or something and then shot up through the roof (modern day explanation was the roof simply caved in and killed 6 people). Luckily for us we went during complete darkness while it was raining and like 30 mph winds, not to mention that to even get there you have to park at this sketchy abandoned lot a 30-minute hike away. This hike was no joke it was straight uphill with slippery rocky terrain that was treacherous to say the least (we all fell like 5 times on the way up, not to mention the way down). When you finally get to the top you get to this large meadow clearing with the castle looming ominously ahead of you (oh yeah, did I mention, it’s a pitch black medieval fckin castle – like what is scarier than that). So we finally got up there and were standing next to it smoking our ****tly rolled J when my friend suggests that we should actually go inside. Long story short after me attempting to pull out every excuse I had in the book (including that I thought my water was going to break) we went inside with an iphone camera flashlight guiding the way. Mind you this is in the middle of nowhere in northern Dublin, not the most safe area. So anyway, while inside I decided to get back at my friends for making me come this far so I push the guy with the flashlight forward to scare him (we’re all in a single file line I’m second in line). Caught of guard, he falls over dropping his phone with the light on the ground somehow causing the phone to take a photo looking at the ceiling (pushed camera button by accident when I pushed him). Just at that moment we all heard this shriek sound from somewhere in darkness and we all freak the *** out grabbed his phone and ran out of there. When we got home later that evening sufficiently shook up we took a look at the photo in the top right corner there was an outline of a face that had two glowing red eyes. There had been no sort of red light during the time we were there. Freaky stuff.

Tell me how you made half life mafia's set-up idea for each faction etc?

A main theory behind this setup's creation was one faction hunting another. The main complaint that I always seem to get (it was present here) is that, when someone rolls mafia, they ***** and moan because they don't get to scumhunt. The theory I had going here was the fact that I let town hunt scum, but I also set it up so that mafia actually had something to do besides just go for mislynches: hunting the indies. Not only did their role confirm the presence of a third party (which I hoped would spurn them into doing something), they also got the chance to hunt for his both Day and Night. By Day, they could use the traditional in-thread scumhunting methods to find the indies and by Night they would have incentive to read the thread to pick a target for their FBI investigation. And, of course, the indies were supposed to be out there hunting mafia. The abductor obviously had to hunt down the FBI agent before he was investigated (appeared inno to the regular cop) while the traitor knew that the mafia had an FBI investigator in the first place.

I really just keep reminding myself that summers are forcing themselves to look like they’re hunting. When someone gives up a push for no reason, starts a push for no good reason, continued a push for way too long for no good reason (tunneling without adequate reflection on responses) starts pushing multiple things at once haphazardly. The trouble is distinguishing apathy from scum. But anything that looks disingenuous to me the biggest red flag. Tunneling the heck out of someone day 1 just to have them flip town, to go right back into D2 tunneling the **** out of someone else may raise the “he must be town, he would never do something that risky’ but that just tells me hes not weighing the fact that he was wrong and trying to make more accurate approaches.

Yosh yosh Yoshi?

Yoshi is my jam. If ya’ll played smash 64 to the degree I do his character moveset is just exhilarating as balls. Easily the most unique and interesting way to play smash and, since I don’t dedicate the same amount of time to the game as I used to, I find myself mainly just playing him cuz hes fun.

He’s somewhat cool to play in Melee but since the physics are different and he can’t jump out of shield (why the hell cant he jump out of shield) his options post-parry are pretty limited (grab/usmash). Unless you’re vectorman and can somehow still djc a nair, and god knows my Melee techskill will never reach that level, it’s just not the same as nair chaining a jigs across a stage and spiking them, combos are too fun.

Fun fact the only character I can’t stand playing is Ness, who is equally as different from other characters, but annoying as balls.

No. Neither. Both.

Tandora and J are my DGames parents. Tandora because she coached me through my game to my first win (which, if I had lost, I probably would have been so embarrassed and butthurt as a neophyte to never play mafia again). J because he singlehandedly stepped in for me on D1 enabling me to put all the blame on his back and ride that out till’ endgame. It’s like the metaphor of the mom spider eating the dad spider or something.

I miss them both dearly. They were dynamic personalities of DGames and we need more of them because honesty I fear for the future of our community sometimes.

Your advice at the end of Majora's Mask was a turning point for me in me rethinking how I approached mafia, you think so?

I know so because I put a stupid amount of time into that game AND to my comments at the end of them because I was at a weirdly critical stage in my mafia career and truly wanted to dissect what I was seeing. Swag attack. Its like he attacks with you swag every time he plays jams. If his musical prowess isn’t enough his appearance just completes the whole package of the dude who puts his soul into music and everything and really kills it as an independent artist doing what he loves.
