Okay so to your standards im an uber noob. I can't wavedash, l cancel, tech (half the time) chaingrap shffl or short hop (if i try when i practice get it about an half of the time). I almost never jump of the stage to hit someone (scares me too much of dying).

BUT i am still better than all my friends. Except one. He used to be much better than me, but then i saw a few videos on youtube and now im much better. When we played i beat him (we play you have to change character if you lose, if you win then you have to continue with that character and the first person to finish characters loses). Now, the last time we played he beat all my good characters with sheik. I just couldn't kill him. Any advice on defeating a sheik would be helpful.

I don't have a main character, but I think im best with fox

Okay I got videos. You should be pleased to know that I now beat him about half the time.
Lies...you beat me like 1/4th of the time. At first it was like 1/2, but I got better

Oh and to the public, I just joined and never heard of most of these tactics, and the ones i heard of i never could do because daisho wouldnt tell me ¬_¬

Well im eager to learn from the best!

Out gay him with Sheik. If possible, out gay him with Falco as well. (SHDL laser control, 'nuff said.)

listen lmao i think he was trying to swd with sheik.

yeah just read up. daisho shame on you for trying to take the glory for yourself and not teaching you're friends the tricks you were picking up. as fox since you're new. stay with u-throw u-air. you can connect usually two of these easy at your level.

learn to edge hog. it works with every character but the lag from sheiks up-b is pretty bad. just jump onto the edge when you're open is trying to recover. and press l or r to roll so you're not getting hit by the explosion. then during the lag u-smash.

please keep reading smashboards and learn some stuff. shffling, wavedashing, etc are very important lol. the vids were so cool i haven't seen smash gameplay like that in a while.

You don't have tech skill? Don't worry. Use Peach. Just use turnips, rolls, dash-attacks, and d-smashes and you'll be chill. Until he gets good enough to prevent that kind of crap, that is.

When you up-throw to u-air with Fox, don't hit them in the grab. Throw them up immediately so they don't have time to DI.

since you and youre friend are at the same level, learn to do advanced techniques together. so you can progress together. plus both of you will be a lot better by learning ATs. theyre not that hard.

Fox without tech skill is a no-no.

@ Daisho: Start with an easier character, like sheik, link or mario. They're all pretty straightforward. Sheik doesn't require much tech skill, link doesn't need wavedashing, and mario is just simple in general. Work your way up, learning advanced techniques like short hopping, fastfalling and l-cancelling. Try to play smart. You'll see yourself improve.

@ Gans: Use more needles, fair, bair, dsmash, tilts, and grabs. Sheik can actually be played very defensively against Fox, because laser spam isn't really much better than needles so he'll have difficulty baiting you. You have a good crouch cancel game. Shieldgrab, upsmash and wavedash out of shield, but those are for later. Focus on making him approach you, then space and punish with dsmash, grabs and tilts. When approaching, use fair and aerial needles, or just dashgrab.

Link requires tech skill, and he gets messed up by Sheik. Just use Sheik. You don't have to wavedash with her. It helps, but it's not necessary. Also I wouldn't recommend CCing against Sheik much because she grabs a lot. Spot-dodge or roll instead.

No offense, but I never said link didn't need tech skill. I said he didn't need to wavedash. Anyway, yeah, Sheik is ridiculously easy to use. I just randomly use her and destroy my friends when my Fox isn't doing so hot.
