KrazyKnux, my house is in Vienna. You should come anyway though :)

July 16th is the weekend of Genesis Sypher. I want Tope/Cyrain to come. There is a chance Chillin might go too, so I wouldn't want him to miss this. July 9th is probably better.

Thanks for all the help guys. Sypher, I'd love for you to help TO, since you are much more experienced at this type of thing. Redd, Epsilon, hot$, Wenbo, thanks for offering to record/stream. I want this thing to be tight.

I will finalize a few things and then post a thread. :bee:

Just a thought, would it benefit if we had one sooner than "early july" so that way we could have another one before the end of summer, (aka before everyone goes back to school). Since you like to allow at least 6 weeks in between each circuit event?

Hey, ive been reading the forums on this Virginia smash circuit a lot recently and just wondering how you guys feel about some new people coming to play, got a few kids in Richmond VA, plus myself who have been playing together for a while and looking to kinda get into the competative scene a bit, willing to bring food and drinks to makeup for any scrubbiness that ensues. Also provide rides for anyone in the area looking to go

I think most people are of the opinion that new people are always welcome if you're willing to learn

Anybody interested in smash is welcome to come to basically any fest or tournament. Any 'closed' events you wouldn't find on the forums anyways.

The basic rule is just to let people know that you're coming beforehand. Oh, and BYOC.

Update: I am looking into tables and chairs for the tournament. My basement is big, but not completely furnished. I'm trying to find the the cheapest/best stuff. Considering buying a big round table.

Wtf @ Richmond being overrated? Are you serious? Tope and I are among the best in the nation as far as our mains are concerned.

Me, Tope, Savedge, Doll (Gotta get him unrusty and make him care...Last time I saw him care about a tourney, he took colbol to last match last stock last hit last) and Milkman. Maybe Poehlcat instead, but he's been lazy and playing LoL. I think milkman is better.

Cyrain 1
Tope 3
Savedge 5
Doll 8
Milkman 10

vs.

Chu 4
Chillin 2
Azen 7
G-reg 9
Redd 6

Numbers being how I'd personally rate people's skill levels. Somewhere in that top 4, it's a bit blurry. I think 1st and 2nd between chillin and I could be interchangeable, same as 3rd and 4th with tope and chu. Doll and Azen maybe, also. Either way, I think it'd be close/interesting.

Chu kind of tips the scales in NoVa's favor, but we have Doll to take care of him. Also your worst player is definitely better than our worst player. x_x I'm down to do it.

When was the last time you played savedge? Granted, I haven't played you lately either, but i still firmly believe savedge is better than most of MD/VA. He just doesn't take tournaments nearly seriously enough. I'm not saying that he would definitely beat/outplace you at a tournament, so don't get all salty. I'm just saying I personally have a harder time playing against him when we are at smashfests. I mean damn, you did better than him at *Pound*....Because he randomly lost to DJ hahaha. But yea. Maybe I'm biased, maybe he just enjoys trying hard as **** in friendlies when he's hanging out. I dunno. Come play me and prove me wrong sometime. =P

I was tempted to put Doll above Greg and Azen too, but it's hard for me to judge. You know Roy. He's such a notorious sandbagger. I actually have no idea where his real skill level lies at the moment, so I just put him below those 2 cause they seem to try hard when they place. Based on the way Doll plays in tourney, i'd say he's amazing, but he never shows it in friendlies or anywhere else. Really though, I just ranked them according to my beliefs to give a decent idea of how even it would be. Has nothing to do with my overall opinion of MD/VA power rankings, if that makes sense. People performing in a fun crew battle is different from people performing under tournament pressure.

Also, yea, I'd say you guys definitely have the better team overall. Really it just depends on if Doll can **** Chu xD. He's the only one I really fear might could take my 4 stocks. Also Chillin, depending on how he's playing. Let's make it happen though. I gotz money to place some bets.

talk to the HAND, girlFRAND

id love to put money down on a crew batle.... but richmond would just fold under the pressure like they always do, and then talk about how they dont really care and didnt feel like playing at the time....

also cyrain i think its really easy to sit down with someone, play good friendles with them for an hour or so, and then tell people "dude this guys is awesome watch out, ive seen their best, and itll beat everyone...... if they are playing good"

sorry cam cakes, maybe im just butthurt cause of being ranked so low by the #1 cyrain. the delusional pride is hilarious, but id put myself at #1 too if i made a list so i cant blame you.

you cant even hate on this post... just look at the post count

I mean, Richmond kinda sandbagged our first circuit event. I'm not salty at all, I have no reason to be :) I played Savedge for a good while at the circuit event. Unfortunately, you can't just "not take tournaments seriously" ever lolz.

Randomly lost to DJ? Cause that could never happen under normal circumstances. $20 dolla per person.

lol "camcakes."

Thats awesome.

...I've been saying for a while that ppl in noVa/MD underrate Savedge. It really feels like he is as good as Cyrain ranks him, even though tourney results don't back it up. Friendlies are so tricky tho. I don't wanna make a judgment on whos better between double D and Edge because I've never seen them play each other, but Austin's def got the better tourney track record.

Personally, I'm more surprised that Poehlteezy isn't on there. ****ing LoL.

@ Redd, I'd call it pretty random. If I recall correctly, he beat raynex's fox and then lost to DJ. Bit weird if you ask me, but hey, I dunno. DJ has a whack *** style and it's totally possible that he just whooped Savedge with his shenanigans. I clearly should've just kept the numbers to myself and I genuinely regret posting them now. That being said, you're both really good and he's been practicing with me a lot lately. Guess we'll see what happens if/when you guys play. And yea we did sandbag the tournament. I regretted it later (I'm just full of regret =( ) because I ****ed up the losers bracket. Wish I had realized how big a **** I was being and just forfeited earlier. The allure of getting really drunk and playing Melee with NoVa is way stronger than the allure of staying sober and trying to win a NoVa tournament. I definitely come to see people, not to see if I can beat local players...Teams being the exception. I dunno why, but I always try hard in teams. I just love 'em too much. Next time I just won't enter the tourney if I'm all ****ed up.

@G-reg, I didn't decide that I was number one on the power rankings. Redd and whatever other group of people came up with it and last I was told, I was #1 on the rankings. That was before Chillin came out of retirement though. Either way, I don't think that calling me "delusional" is justified here. Last I heard, you beat Azen and did well at Syphers. Despite the fact that you're about as inactive as Savedge, you may very well be way higher on that list. I don't know. I really should've kept the numbers in my head because I was just trying to decide how reasonable the crew battle would be. I feel like NoVa has the advantage overall. Concerning Savedge's placement on the list...It's obvious that you don't approve of my reasoning for putting him at #5. That's perfectly fine. That aside, do you actually disagree with where he is on the list? As far as folding under pressure, we very well could. Who knows? I think it'd be a fun crew battle nonetheless, for pride and for money. We each have our great players and our rusty players, but they're all quite good. As far as not really caring about ****...Yea, you're right. Chillin thinks he's the best. I think I'm the best. Chu might think he's the best. Who knows? It's kind of whatever as far as I'm concerned. I'm more worried about where I rank nationally (if at all). I do love your reason for editing your post lol. It's totally CammyCakes though, not Cam Cakes. Setting aside the fact that I've clearly pissed you off or you're just trying to pick a fight with me with your big sexy #69 post... I miss you. <3 Come play LoL/Melee with us some time. I was telling Chillin last night about how I hadn't seen you in forever. Pretty sad I missed you and Billy. =/

@Chillin, I said pretty clearly that in my opinion, the top 4 numbers are reasonably interchangeable. I just think it depends on the day. In my experience from playing you, there's a very good chance you could knock me out of a tournament or place higher than me. There's a pretty good chance of the opposite happening as well. Same goes for Tope and Chu (except the part where tope might beat Chu heads up because that just never happens). So we can reverse the numbers, set aside my personal bias, call you and Chu the best and move on since I'VE CLEARLY UPSET YOU SO VERY MUCH. <3

Seriously though, we should do that crew battle. I didn't mean to bring it into unfriendly terms. I think it's a cool idea. Also, TCB, I think Savedge gets underrated too. Like G-reg said..It's easy to play a person at their best and be like DAMN THIS ***** ***** and then watch him choke and suck it up in tournament. I dunno what Savedge's deal is. Sometimes he takes it seriously, sometimes he doesn't. Whether or not he should be #5 or 6 or even 10 on that list, I respect Savedge for the fact that he'll come play the **** out of Melee just because he loves the people and loves the game. He doesn't get to travel to a ****load of tournaments, but his passion for the game and his willingness to practice is astounding. I've been talking Savedge up for the past few months because he's gotten so much better. I really think he'll show it at the next local. Poehlcat was getting legitimately good for a while and then we all entered our LoL phase. He just entered a much much deeper LoL phase than Me or Tope.xD With Milkman coming to practice a lot lately, he's honestly been impressing the hell out of me. I think he might be better than Poehlcat at this point, but I guess it's hard to say.
