Town LvP: Ryker.

Marshy you ***, I started having doubts but nothing could be done about it. This game was so horrible in so many different ways. You played a great game. I got hard bodied :(.

I was ****ing right about Soup, at first I was like "hmm Town" but his reasoning on me was complete B.S. and I should have pushed it more. Man, I was the only person questioning Soup, that makes me salty about this Town.

Was happy with my Kary read.

Seriously hated all the nulls/useless slots/lack of visible content to be seen. My quicklynch was dumb.

Now lets forget this ever happened. :p

Nope and nope. I said you were Town D1 based off bad meta, but then on D2 I was like "actually no wait he really isn't" and said "I don't buy your b.s. read or your play so far." Like you had absolutely noooo Town reason to deflect me and my questions, but no one wanted to jump on you for some reason. I didn't say John was Town either, I wanted people to out opinions on John d3 because that **** was going to be important going into d4...but everyone went with setup speculation so scum blended in super easily anyway instead of trying to explain their reads on John.

Like, that was seriously the whole game: HBC HBC HBC HBC with no rationale or logic or anything. I got quick lynched, JD was null, John had a bad claim, and RR set himself up for problems by sheeping all game.

Ugh it was terrible.

Yo, obviously Ruy's fault for being a sheep, Ditz's fault for not watching where the game started, and Bardull's fault for being so enjoyable to lynch.

I stand vindicated.

Denial. First step to improving is realizing your own faults.

:salt: and denial. This is why you don't improve, I remember when I was like this, thinking every game couldn't be my fault and I was the best thing since sliced :gova:. I hope one day you'll learn, and that's all the wise words I have for you, until then, I will continue to lynch you D1 just because you lack the initiative to stop it

I know when a person is in Denial, you don't have to get salty about something and give me ironic smiley faces in front your posts, I'm trying to give you advice here, You ****ed up massively and the fact you're trying to walk out of this trying to say it wasn't your fault at all is absolute bull****.

Town:

So there were 4 versions of the "Vanilla" Deadpool aka "eternal chatterbox"

(2) Town 1: Contains Chatterbox ability and Top 5 posting restriction.
(1) Town 2: Contains Chatterbox ability with No Top 5 posting restriction.
(1) Town 3: Contains No Chatterbox ability with Top 5 posting restriction.
(3) Town 4: Contains No Chatterbox ability and No Top 5 posting restriction.

All Deadpools have the "Eternal" Passive. Two PRs were among town:

(1) Thread Cop (1-shot): Contains Chatterbox and Top 2 posting restriction.
(1) Day Vig (1-shot): Contains No Chatterbox with Top 5 posting restriction.

Mafia:

(1) Bulletproof: Contains Chatterbox ability and Top 5 posting restriction (Town 1).
(1) Goon 1: Contains Chatterbox ability and Top 5 posting restriction (Town 1).
(1) Goon 2: Contains No Chatterbox and No Top 5 restriction (Town 4).

Mafia have the "Eternal" passive as well, however, they can only post in the scum quicktopic after dying.

Town could easily lose by the end of D2. However, that would be to totally just playing mad horrible. I quite like the idea of people being able to post during night phase. I realized that the only reason that's not really allowed in normal games is due to flavor reasons (mafia coming out at night and killing someone). But I don't think it's a totally necessary restriction and would like to see how some other insomniac games work out. The posting restrictions made the game pretty lulzy. I was contemplating on a game where the person with the least post count dies at the end of each day. That would be some Pit arrow spam ishk.

TOWN:

Honestly your play was pretty poor. Marshy/Soup completely hard bodied yal. With the support of Ryker, you guys were pretty much doomed from the start. I was disappointed that the lot of you just accepted your fate and followed what seemed to be the crowd, but what was really just a few players with the loudest voices. Bardull was the only one who maintained individuality even against the pressure of the mob mentality. You guys gotta think for yourselves and don't let anyone pressure you into doing something you don't feel is in town's best interest. For sure it's important to listen to other player's views and arguments, but it's detrimental to just sheep whatever the players in power do.

MAFIA:

Astounding play. I was very much impressed. I wasn't expecting someone to realize they could post their role PMs so quickly haha. Marshy & Soup you pretty much led every single lynch, but still managed to maintain town reads to nearly every player in the game. Each Chatterbox used was on a scum player, and I like how Marshy was able to influence both Jim and Ruy with his. After that "zen are alignments confirmed to eachother" I was like welp no way Jim is going to think Marshy is scum after that lol. Good shi. John no idea why you got upset from the bus! They were just doing what needed to be done. I don't think they were really criticizing your play. Your gambit was interesting, but unnecessary imo. It just gave people reason to think you were scum rather than town. I'm also not sure why ya kept stalling on posting your role PM.

I think the dietz lynch pretty much set the game. Ryker was on it for a second with going the John route of Dietz, but Marshy managed to sway everyone. I thought Dietz' entrance posts were very obv town though. And his posts made it clear he didn't have scum buddies, but hey I had bias. Another thing town failed to use is their biggest asset this game: Their voice. Even after you guys had confirmed townies who could still posts, none of the living players seemed to care about their opinions. They actually had some legitimate input, at least more in the first half of the game.

Kary: In Newbie and ERB you were extremely exertive. Now you're extremely passive! Find that middle ground!

the former. every gorfdamn ****ing time. notice a trait about players universally agreed to be effective at scumhunting? theyre not afraid to lead and be wrong. this comes with being exertive as opposed to a ******* piece of **** who does nothing (i am not accusing kary of having done this tho just giving perspective to a player i like)

I quite like the setup now i look back at it. At the time I was like uhhh... what?
Having the top X posters alive was interesting but I think a bit of a burden on town, it seems difficult to have that work out in their favour.

Yo, I for one did not just 'accept my fate'. I don't know whether I ended up saying it in thread, but I would not have been surprised if this setup only had 2 mafia in it given how hectic it was.
Expecting players to hold their own against a tide of spam and strong opinion is pretty demanding, and I don't think most people took this game that seriously.
So, given we were 'doomed from the start' I don't think it's fair to say town played 'pretty poor', but what the hell
I enjoyed this game and that's what matters.

Yeah I don't think that I was very passive this game, if anything I wasn't giving it that much attention. I didn't feel the need to do a lot because a lot was already happening, but unfortunately the game moved on before I got a chance to actually act on my reads and stuff. For instance, I suggest a Rake/Ryker scumteam and then almost immediately Rake flips town, so, yeah. I am totally for being forceful, but there has to be a reason behind it.

The one thing that's bothering me:

How did Marshy know what the town PM looked like?

That was one of the reasons why I soft cleared him; there was no sample role pm. >.>

Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh.

I've never been in a game before where a safe-claim role pm was also distributed when there wasn't a sample role pm.

Welp, you live and learn I guess.

Really? Even games that have sample role PM's still provide fake claims for the mafia.

Yeah, fake-claims are fine, but usually it's not a FULL role pm from what I've seen. It's more basic, like:

"You know that Luigi isn't in the game. You may use this as a safe-claim." But an entire role pm (including alignment color, flavor, etc.) usually isn't included. Not that there's a problem with that or anything. I just didn't expect it, lol.
